Armed Train in the Apocalypse

The deep-sea worm, which originally could have wrapped the entire train layer by layer.

Now has diverted many tendrils to battle the zombies, giving the mechanical arms some leeway.

Although it’s not as neat and quick as when cutting zombies, the speed isn’t slow either, taking only three to five seconds to sever an outer tube of the worm as thick as a wrist.

Sensing the prey was attempting to escape, the deep-sea worm writhed even more frantically.

It began to abandon the dead bodies at the ends, focusing all its power on wrapping the train.

However, the propellers were already spinning, coupled with the buoyancy generated by a large amount of air inside the carriages, straightening all tendrils tautly.

Pairs of scarlet eyes appeared in the murky water, greedily gazing at the massive train in the middle.

Did they escape the pursuing tendrils, heading straight for the train?

”Bang! Bang! Bang!”

Sharp fin blades slashed through four or five tendrils, directly striking the train’s external armor.

The muffled sound reverberated through the water in layers.

They directly pierce through the train’s outermost nano self-repair coating, with the edge of the fin blade embedding at least a centimeter deep into the armor!

You have to realize the train’s full armor thickness is just about 9 centimeters.

Not even a palm’s thickness.

The scarlet glow in the zombie’s eyes flickered.

Seemingly puzzled.

Sensing its kind was also rushing up around it, each fearing they’d be too late to grab a share of the flesh and blood, the zombie swiftly switched its fin blade form, using the tip to stab the train armor.

Another muffled sound, this time it pierced two centimeters, then struck the internal soft glass buffer layer.

However, due to insufficient temperature, the high-temperature glass didn’t melt into liquid to repair.

Only the outermost nano-coating was slowly healing the damage.

The zombie’s attacks grew even more frenetic, hacking at the train armor with all limbs, causing frantic muffled sounds to suddenly erupt in the water, like muffled thunder underwater.

Underwater became turbid, while a series of one-centimeter-deep slash marks appeared on the train’s outer armor!

More zombies pounced on the armed train.

Tendrils broke apart, swaying as they fell.

With the combined effort of both sides, the deep-sea worm finally lost the ability to hold the train, and the remaining tendrils began snapping under the fearsome buoyancy.

The mechanical arms’ task shifted from cutting the deep-sea worm to grabbing the severed worm outer tubes.

Each carriage had four pairs of mechanical arms, totaling four hundred across the hundred carriages.

Amid the constant sound of snapping, the train began to float towards the surface at a terrifying speed.

Seeing the metal shutters inside the windows being pulled open, each showing vibrant flesh inside, the mutated zombies went into a frenzy, clinging tightly under the train, frantically hacking and stabbing the train armor.

”Boom——”

After more than ten days away, the armed train reappeared on the water surface in the city center of Guan Chong City.

The first to rise was the deck, still lush green with Crown Pear trees.

Despite being immersed in the flood for so many days, apart from some gnawing marks, there was no sign of rot.

Water flowed down the remaining branches onto the deck, exposing the various accumulated debris and bodies like a receding tide.

The mechanical arms on both sides tossed the broken tendrils onto the deck.

A dozen or so drones took to the sky, the mechanical arms operated by internal personnel were clearing the debris on the deck.

With the train’s several meters high body floating out of the water like lotus roots, the armed train was completely freed.

In the armed hall, Su Huan felt the train gradually stabilize underfoot, and with a large wave of his hand, ”Open the doors, let’s get some air on the deck!”

The train crew managed alright, but the Armed Corps had been conducting intense underwater training every day and had bottled up a lot of frustration. Hearing the conductor’s words, their eyes sparkled.

He Jie was even more ecstatic, letting out a wild roar. He’d been holding it back for a long time.

Even if there were Tier Two zombies outside, he still wanted to go out for a big fight.

The hatch to the armed hall opened, Su Huan was the first to step out.

The soldiers followed one by one in file.

Crates of ammunition were also moved onto the deck.

The crisp water vapor accompanied by a fishy stench hit their faces. Although it was far more difficult to bear than inside the train, Su Huan still took a deep breath.

”This is the feeling, the taste of freedom!”

He Jie exclaimed exaggeratedly, carrying two heavy machine guns.

Su Huan climbed onto the locomotive, gazing around, the long-lost sun finally made an appearance, grandly positioned at the zenith, its warm rays spreading over the earth.

Even the surrounding waterlogged, decayed buildings were cloaked in a gentle golden glow.

Sofas, tables, chairs, beds, corpses, deep-sea worms...

Countless pieces of debris floated harmoniously on the water surface, slowly drifting into the distance with the current.

Silhouettes appeared beneath the water’s surface, abruptly rushing high into the air the next moment.

Propelled from underwater, reaching heights beyond the train, and even surpassing some small buildings.

Some Tier Two zombies reached heights of over a dozen meters!

Suddenly, long hair was blown into chaos by the wind.

Su Huan squinted slightly.

”Thunder Pool.”

Countless tiny bolts of lightning shot from the black silhouette on the locomotive, converging into jagged lightning, spreading rapidly in all directions at a terrifying speed.

In no time, they caught up with the zombies mid-air.

In an instant, within a hundred meters radius, both above and below the water surface, became a domain of lightning.

The sudden brightness made the sun lose its brilliance.

”Bang, bang, bang…”

The electrocuted zombie bodies fell onto the deck like dumplings being dropped in a pot.

He Jie shot at a still convulsing Tier One mutated zombie at his feet, urgently shouting, ”Quick, quick! Start shooting, if we’re any later we won’t hit them!”

In an instant, the deck roared with gunfire.

A fire dragon swam out, mingling with the thunder in the sky, rendering the entire Thunder Pool a purplish-red hue.
