Armed Train in the Apocalypse

Su Huan leaned back in his chair, saying calmly, ”How should I address you?”

Upon hearing Su Huan’s polite words, 428’s eyes brightened slightly and she said brightly, ”HT-428, my real name is Su Reya. You can also call me Reya.”

Su Huan’s mouth twitched. She’s actually a relative.

How hard to maintain composure.

”You’d better stick with 428; it rolls off the tongue better. What does HT mean?”

”It’s short for the Black Kite Special Service Action Department. Captain, are you interested in learning about Black Kite?” Su Reya glanced around the room, then focused on the new bed Yu Yue had prepared for Su Huan. She licked her lips, maintaining a cold expression, but the charm at the corners of her eyes betrayed her. ”Perhaps we can go somewhere else, and I can explain it to you in detail, though I’m eloquent, the information about Black Kite is quite extensive...”

Without any hesitation, Su Reya sold out the company.

A hint of amusement flashed in Su Huan’s narrow eyes. He preferred taking the initiative himself.

Because that way, there’s less surprise and purpose.

In the apocalypse, a woman coming onto you isn’t a good thing.

Many unfortunate souls got their belongings ransacked for a taste of beauty, but that’s probably the best scenario.

Even worse, someone might want to trade your head for something.

”You seem to know a lot?”

”My position isn’t high, but as a reconnaissance talent, I came across more secrets. Besides, I am a mistress of several high-ranking directors.” Su Reya said openly about her identity, displaying not the slightest shame, but rather a bit of pride.

She knew men too well.

Though they detest her in their hearts, they would still be eager to taste her because big shots had marked her.

She’s a woman who’s been touched by big figures, now under his control...

And since she’s so filthy, getting rid of her once bored wouldn’t cause any psychological burden.

No responsibility needs to be shouldered, neither mentally nor physically, he just needs to enjoy. Su Reya believed no man would refuse, at least the previous ones didn’t.

This is the darkest emotion in people’s hearts.

”Your overheated mind makes it hard for us to continue this conversation.”

Su Huan sighed helplessly.

This woman is too perverted, making even a pervert like him lose desire.

He preferred writing and drawing on a clean sheet of white paper rather than depicting on someone else’s messy, black paper, wondering who left the mark.

It’s boring.

”Bai Lu.”

Bai Lu peeked in from outside, revealing a slightly swollen panda eye, ”Captain, did you call for me?”

”Throw her in the water to cool down, bring her up in ten minutes.”

Bai Lu turned his gaze to the dumbfounded Su Reya, revealing a malicious smile.

Accompanied by a scream outside the door, Su Huan gained ten minutes to ponder.

With such a mistress of a big shot, he could outline the mysterious forces of Black Kite.

Since he had to go all the way north to uncover the apocalyptic truth, the more he understood about these major forces, the better.

Maybe the secret would reveal itself before reaching the far north.

”Giraffe, go get Lin Xi.”

Shortly after, a girl walked in.

She wore the gray shirt Yu Jing had on when she boarded the train, slender in figure, standing there quietly looking at him.

Making Su Huan feel like a potential criminal.

”Sit behind the curtain and don’t make a sound, jot down when the person talking lies.”

Su Huan instructed.

”Okay.”

Lin Xi obediently twirled around, ran to sit on Su Huan’s bed, and drew the curtain.

Ten minutes later, the drenched Su Reya sat on the floor in a daze, her flat stomach slightly bulging, clearly having drunk a lot.

”Now, tell me everything you know, starting with the identities of everyone in your squad.”

Su Huan smiled, ”And don’t you dare lie, or next time you won’t be drinking water.”

Looking at Su Huan’s handsome yet slightly sinister face, Su Reya swallowed and dared not play any tricks, reverently beginning her tale.

”HT-426 is the deputy commander this time, and the actual commander besides Zhao Kuo. Her real name is Shu Wei, daughter of Mr. Shu and Wang Yi...”

...

Two hours later.

Su Huan had a comprehensive understanding of the entire Black Kite.

Bai Lu and another person escorted Su Reya away.

He briefly organized various pieces of information in his mind, then opened the curtain.

The girl was scribbling furiously in her notebook.

Su Huan raised his eyebrows, surprised at her seriousness, and took the notebook, ”Let me see what you’ve noted down?”

”The conductor lied a total of twenty-two times, which are...”

”One, 1 minute 16 seconds...”

”Two, 7 minutes...”

Su Huan’s forehead was filled with black lines as he looked down at Lin Xi, gritting his teeth, ”Don’t tell me this is all you noted down in two hours?”

Lin Xi blinked her eyes, earnestly said, ”Didn’t you ask me to record the speaker’s lies? I wrote them all down.”

Su Huan chuckled angrily, ”I asked you to record hers, not mine! Even your brother can’t save you this time!”

”That’s a lie.” Lin Xi said expressionlessly, looking at the increasingly dangerous look on Su Huan’s face, her tone shifted, ”She didn’t lie either.”

Su Huan raised an eyebrow in some surprise, ”All true?”

”From what I can tell, yes.”

...

Two days later, the conductor tossed his pen aside, finally freed from the tangled matters.

The torrential rain outside the train window had also been falling for two days and finally eased a bit today.

Only a slanting drizzle skimmed across the window.

Su Huan stood up and walked to the second floor.

His second floor, aside from a one-way door connecting to the dining car, also had a door leading to the engine and another to the deck.

Walking out of the door, a refreshing breeze came rushing in, meeting a giant Crown Pear tree.

The reason the train didn’t leave Wangjiang Peak immediately was precisely because of this pear tree.

It took a whole day to reduce many branches and leaves before dragging the tree trunk onto the middle deck of the train, causing the engine’s draft line to sink a meter deeper.

The pears on the tree were well protected and none were lost.

A small branch was sent to Huang Sea for cultivation, and Director Xu’s laboratory also took a branch for experimentation.

The rest were temporarily left on the deck.

Since the roots were still attached with soil when pulled out, coupled with the moist weather, there was no fear of the pear tree drying out.

Looking into the distance, there were endless mountain peaks on both sides, with a rushing torrent in the middle, making the armored train seem like it was sailing through the middle of a great river.

The flood had shown signs of receding a day ago, accompanied by an ebb flow.

Considering the mud left behind by the receding flood would hinder the train tracks, after dealing with the pear tree, the armored train headed north along the retreating flow towards Guangren City.

Embarking towards the Flood Zone where Su Huan met his demise in his previous life.

The speed wasn’t slow, aided by the current.

But occasionally colliding with buildings and mountains added quite a bit of trouble.

Suddenly, the clouds seemed to have leaked halfway, casting a golden light on the nearby ridge.

The lush ridge, exposed with patches of yellow rocks and clay, presented a pristine, beautiful scene, making Su Huan daze for a moment.

Leaving the Acid Rain Zone meant his previous life experience advantage had all vanished.

Like an ordinary survivor, he began to face the harsh apocalypse.

Before he had time to think it through, God seemed to discover this loophole, pulled the clouds back together, the golden light dissipated, gloom shrouded, and the ridge became ordinary again.

A horizon line connected with the sky appeared directly in front of the armored train.

The murky floodwaters and the clear distant waters were clearly distinct.

Before the Apocalypse, Ningxi Province didn’t have such a large water area; it had the world’s largest freshwater lake and two tributaries running through it, but who would have thought that after the Apocalypse, it would turn into this flood-ravaged scene.

Perhaps because the armored train was new, the Flood Zone hadn’t shown its ferocious side.

The wind had just gotten stronger.

Just about to head back, Su Huan suddenly noticed a small black dot on the edge of the horizon.

”What does that look like?”

He rubbed his chin, curiously entering the cockpit.

The busy staff at the command station quickly greeted Su Huan.

”Conductor, there’s a general energy fluctuation ten kilometers ahead. We thought it might be an aquatic mutant beast, but based on our detection, it seems like a floating island with plants on it. We’ve deployed a drone, and clearer images will be transmitted back soon.”

The crowd cleared the command platform for Su Huan to see.

One screen showed sonar and general energy scan modeling, vaguely resembling a small island.

The other side was much clearer, displaying the live feed from the drone.

As the camera zoomed in, Su Huan suddenly laughed.

It wasn’t a floating island at all, just a huge tree floating on the water.

On it were several bedraggled figures.

It was the escaping Black Kite Squad.
