Alchemy Master

Chapter 537, Father and Son of the Shen Family

Inside the Shen Residence.

“Shen Zhize, don’t go too far!” Shen Ling glared angrily at the young man before her, her eyes almost breathing fire.

“How am I going too far? I merely wish to offer some guidance on Alchemy Technique to this Young Lady.”

The man named Shen Zhize completely ignored her fiery gaze, his eyes fixed directly upon Gongshu Zhiyi.

She was indeed far too captivating. Her delicate face was smooth as porcelain, displaying shallow dimples when she smiled. A form-fitting sky-blue robe made her appear even more elegantly refined. Her three thousand strands of hair cascaded like a waterfall to her slender waist, below which her pert bottom and taut, graceful legs made her figure utterly flawless. Her hands were soft as new shoots, her skin like congealed cream, with jade bones naturally formed and a countenance approaching perfection without a single flaw to be found.

Such a beauty—who would not fancy her, who would not love her?

“Beautiful, come with me to my chamber, and I shall teach you properly…” Shen Zhize completely disregarded Shen Ling’s presence, reaching out to grasp Gongshu Zhiyi’s small hand.

*Hmph!* Lu Xiaoguan snorted coldly, stepping protectively before Gongshu Zhiyi.

Just as he prepared to teach this ignorant guy a lesson, Shen Fangu and Qin Yichen entered.

“What is happening here?” Upon seeing Shen Zhize, Shen Fangu’s brow furrowed involuntarily.

“Fourth Uncle.” Even upon seeing Shen Fangu, Shen Zhize maintained his nonchalant expression. Though he addressed him as Fourth Uncle, there was little respect in his mannerism.

“Brother Yichen!” Seeing Qin Yichen appear, Gongshu Zhiyi, who had been rather listless moments before, immediately ran to Qin Yichen’s side, joy replacing melancholy upon her face.

For some unknown reason, witnessing this scene, particularly Gongshu Zhiyi’s manner of addressing Qin Yichen, left Shen Ling feeling somewhat uncomfortable, her eyes revealing something that could be called envy.

As for Shen Zhize, his pupils suddenly narrowed. That sinister gaze fixed upon Qin Yichen like a venomous serpent.

“We are leaving.”

Shen Fangu clearly had no desire to acknowledge this Nephew of his.

“Fourth Uncle, why the rush?” Yet Shen Zhize blocked his path, obstructing his route, which darkened Shen Fangu’s countenance further.

“I mean nothing untoward by her, merely wishes to offer guidance to that Young Lady.” Shen Zhize spoke with a shameless grin.

Faced with Shen Zhize’s endless pestering, Qin Yichen’s brow creased. It was evident that this ‘Nephew’ held his Uncle, Shen Fangu, in little regard.

Though Shen Fangu was his Fourth Uncle, given the current circumstances, Shen Fangu’s position within the Shen Family appeared quite modest. Otherwise, regardless of Shen Zhize’s audacity, he would not dare so rudely offend the guests Shen Fangu had brought in.

Indeed, were Shen Fangu to receive sufficient regard within the Shen Family, he would not have been assigned to serve as Manor Master in the remote Ten Corner Region.

“Shen Zhize! Step aside right now!” Seeing Shen Zhize behave so rudely before Qin Yichen and the others, Shen Ling, as a member of the Shen Family, felt her cheeks burn with shame and immediately rebuked him.

“What is this? Shen Ling, do you fancy that young man? Why are you so agitated?” However, the moment Shen Ling finished speaking, Shen Zhize cast her a meaningful glance, then looked at Qin Yichen and sneered.

“You… nonsense!” Having her feelings exposed so directly, Shen Ling’s cheeks immediately flushed crimson. She stamped her small foot and cried out.

Yet within her outcry, the previous confidence had vanished entirely.

“How interesting. Sister Shen Ling, allow your Older Brother to demonstrate whether this young man possesses the qualifications to earn your affection!” Shen Zhize proved himself a master at charming women. His eyes rolled as he devised a subtle method to attract Gongshu Zhiyi’s attention—namely, displaying his capabilities before her.

With his Spiritual Energy accomplishments, revealing just a trace would surely fill such a young girl with admiration, perhaps even causing her to offer herself willingly!

However, he failed to realise that this unprovoked provocative behaviour had already stirred anger amongst the others present.

“Young man, you are hardly an impressive figure. How does such an ordinary fellow as yourself win women’s favour? From what I know, Shen Ling’s standards are rather high.” Shen Zhize regarded Qin Yichen with mockery, examining him from head to toe while speaking in a taunting tone.

“Father!” Hearing his endless ridicule, Shen Ling glared at him angrily before casting a pleading gaze towards Shen Fangu. At this moment, Shen Fangu’s brow was tightly furrowed, his expression somewhat grim.

“Haha, Fourth Brother, why did you not inform me of your return!?”

Just as Shen Fangu prepared to halt Shen Zhize’s unreasonable behaviour, a booming laugh echoed from the depths of the Shen Residence. The Spiritual Energy contained within that voice caused everyone’s minds to tremble violently.

Likely, the speaker’s Spiritual Energy ranked amongst the foremost within the Spiritual Rupture Realm!

Subsequently, under everyone’s gaze, a magnificently robed man approached, surrounded by several beautiful maidservants.

“Eldest Brother.”

As this man, who appeared considerably older than himself, appeared, Shen Fangu’s countenance grew increasingly unpleasant.

“Father!” Upon seeing this brocade-robed man, Shen Zhize, who had previously been pursuing Gongshu Zhiyi relentlessly, showed no intention of clearing the path for Qin Yichen and the others, merely calling out to him.

This person was none other than Shen Zhize’s Father and simultaneously the current Patriarch of the Shen Family… Shen Fanwen!

“Zhize, what happened?” Upon arrival, Shen Fanwen did not greet his Fourth Brother, instead questioning Shen Zhize.

“Father, nothing of consequence. I am merely looking out for Sister Shen Ling.”

Shen Zhize replied with a light laugh, displaying the magnanimous bearing of an Older Brother, though his peripheral vision still swept across Gongshu Zhiyi.

Shen Fanwen clearly observed his subtle movements. His gaze swept across the scene, and he too was momentarily stunned by Gongshu Zhiyi’s beauty. He understood his Son’s nature well enough—evidently, all this stemmed from this beautiful young woman.

“Ah, then you young ones should continue your fun.” Shen Fanwen nodded, then gestured dismissively towards Shen Fangu. “Come, Fourth Brother, pay no heed to these matters between Juniors. It has been so long since we last met. So, let us Brothers have a proper conversation.”

Faced with his summons, Shen Fangu remained motionless. He understood perfectly well that Shen Fanwen’s actions constituted nothing less than indulging Shen Zhize.

“Brother, he represents our Ten Corner Alchemy Manor at the Alchemy Manor Summit.” Shen Fangu’s expression darkened. His reluctance to return to the Heavenly Dragon Imperial Dynasty all these years stemmed from his unwillingness to enter the Shen Family’s doors.

Due to this Father and Son duo, the Shen Family’s reputation within Heavenly Dragon Imperial City was far from favourable.

The reason being that both Father and Son shared the same nature… lechery.

Yet those Elders possessing the authority to remove the Patriarch merely turned a blind eye, asking no questions. This was due to Shen Fanwen’s status as the Shen Family’s foremost Alchemy Master.
