Alchemy Master

Chapter 521, Love Rivals Meet

“Please follow me.” Great training ensured that the female attendant did not act discourteously despite never hearing of this Pill before. She just led Qin Yichen towards the staircase.

The reason, naturally, was still the Medal on Qin Yichen’s chest.

It must be said that this Fifth Grade Alchemy Master Medal had saved him considerable trouble. This entire journey had been smooth and unobstructed due to it.

Qin Yichen followed behind her, but saw two people coming down from upstairs, talking and laughing as they walked.

“Young Master Ouyang, you have really taken such unnecessary trouble upon yourself.” The man who appeared to be middle-aged said to the young man beside him.

“Manager Feng, what are you saying? This is simply what I should be doing.” The young man’s face bore a gentle smile, responding with considerable grace.

“Manager, Sir.” Upon seeing the middle-aged man, the female attendant immediately stepped aside and bowed.

Behind her, Qin Yichen’s eyes narrowed slightly, his gaze falling upon that young man, and in the depths of his pupils, a cold light gleamed.

Ouyang Haotian!

The Ouyan Family was, after all, a Force within the Heavenly Dragon Imperial Dynasty, so his appearance here was not particularly strange.

At the same time, seeing him here caused Qin Yichen’s heart to relax slightly.

Clearly, Feng Qianxue was still safe and sound. Otherwise, Ouyang Haotian would not be standing here, conversing so harmoniously with the Manager of World Aplenty Hall.

“Oh?” When Qin Yichen spotted Ouyang Haotian, the latter also discovered him. Upon seeing this face that filled him with disgust, a flash of surprise and cold malice passed through the depths of Ouyang Haotian’s eyes.

It seemed that ever since encountering this Qin Yichen, his luck had never been good.

Moreover, Qin Yichen was like a ghost—no matter where he went, the others could follow. Now, he had once again appeared before him.

“Young Master Ouyang, it has been quite some time!” Having already been discovered by Ouyang Haotian, Qin Yichen had no intention of hiding. Instead, he stepped forward with a slight smile, greeting him. Since he had already come to the Heavenly Dragon Imperial Dynasty, Ouyang Haotian was someone he would have to face sooner or later!

“En.” To Qin Yichen’s proactive greeting, Ouyang Haotian glanced at him with arrogance. When he saw the Medal on Qin Yichen’s chest that symbolises a Fifth Grade Alchemy Master, his pupils suddenly contracted, and his face became somewhat rigid.

“Fifth Grade Alchemy Master?” Ouyang Haotian blinked incredulously. He remembered the last time he had seen Qin Yichen. [He was not a Human Grade Alchemy Master at that time, right? But how long had it been? To think he had actually become a Fifth Grade Alchemy Master during that time?]

What made him even more murderous was the matter concerning Feng Qianxue!

After emerging from the Extreme Flame Zone, Feng Qianxue’s attitude towards him had undergone a complete one-hundred-and-eighty-degree reversal. From the former incomparable dependence, it had changed to indifference, with a distinctly flavour of perfunctory words. Even on several occasions when he had tried to curry favour, he had seen disgust in her eyes.

“What are you here for?” Ouyang Haotian’s expression was somewhat unpleasant as he asked in a gloomy voice.

To this, Qin Yichen merely chuckled softly and pointed to his own chest, at the Medal symbolising a Fifth Grade Alchemy Master.

“Heh heh, are you here to participate in the Alchemy Manor Summit?” Ouyang Haotian’s eyes narrowed slightly as he sneered. After seeing Qin Yichen’s tacit acknowledgement, he suddenly burst into loud laughter, then said, “Then I wish you excellent results in the Summit!”

Afterwards, Ouyang Haotian seemed unwilling to entangle himself further with Qin Yichen. After giving the latter a meaningful look, he continued downstairs with the World Aplenty Hall Manager.

“Young Master Ouyang, do you know that young man?”

“I’ve met him a few times.” As their figures disappeared into the stairwell, the conversation between the two reached Qin Yichen’s ears.

Hearing Ouyang Haotian’s casual response, Qin Yichen merely sneered, while also becoming secretly vigilant.

Ouyang Haotian’s nonchalant attitude was merely for show for the Feng Family members—firstly for his own reputation, and secondly to prevent Qin Yichen from using him to attract the Feng Family’s attention.

In reality, with Ouyang Haotian’s petty and vindictive nature, he was probably already calculating in his heart how to make him disappear!

After this little interlude, the World Aplenty Hall female attendant led Qin Yichen upstairs, then walked towards a room to one side. On the door of that room hung a plaque bearing the three large characters ‘Treasure Appraisal Pavilion’.

*Knock knock!*

“Come in!”

The female attendant stepped forward and gently tapped the wooden door several times. When a lazy voice came from within, she smiled apologetically at Qin Yichen before pushing the door open.

Upon entering the room, Qin Yichen discovered that this chamber was not particularly spacious, nor did it have much furnishing. Only in the centre of the room stood a wooden table.

At this moment, an elderly man with somewhat greying hair was lying prostrate upon it, napping lightly.

As if awakened by someone’s entry, this elderly man slowly raised his head. His gaze swept briefly, and upon seeing Qin Yichen’s somewhat youthful countenance, his brow involuntarily furrowed.

After all, someone of this age, what good items could he possibly have that would warrant bringing them here for appraisal!

“Grandmaster Lan Wen, this gentleman has a type of Pill that he would like Grandmaster to appraise.” The female attendant respectfully bowed to the elderly man and spoke.

“Pill?”

Grandmaster Lan Wen furrowed his brow. Originally intending to simply drive him out, however, upon seeing the Medal on Qin Yichen’s chest, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes. He then waved his hand and said, “Bring it here for me to look.”

Though this was his response, the disdain and perfunctory tone in his voice were quite obvious.

One could say that were it not for the ‘face’ given by that Medal, he would not have wanted to appraise anything for Qin Yichen. After all, as World Aplenty Hall’s Chief Appraiser, his standards were quite high.

Items appraised by him were generally mysterious objects retrieved from ancient ruins, or extremely rare things… What good Pill could a youth who appeared no more than eighteen or nineteen years old possibly possess!?

“Sir, Grandmaster Lan Wen’s personality is like this. Please do not take offence!” The female attendant hastily spoke apologetically to Qin Yichen.

Qin Yichen shook his head indifferently. Not only was he not dissatisfied with Grandmaster Lan Wen’s attitude, he was actually somewhat unusually pleased.

After all, Grandmaster Lan Wen was World Aplenty Hall’s Chief Appraiser, the authority of his appraisals far exceeded that of other appraisers!

Subsequently, Qin Yichen picked up a jade bottle and handed it over.

Taking the jade bottle, Grandmaster Lan Wen pinched open the bottle cap and took a light sniff. Those aged eyes immediately narrowed slightly, and within his gaze, which resembled a thin line, a glimmer of surprise flickered.

“Huh?” Grandmaster Lan Wen uttered a soft exclamation. As his pupils flickered slightly, the jade bottle in his hand tilted, and a Pill rolled out from within, then fell into his palm.
