Chapter 17, Cooperating to Clear the Secret Realm

Lu Fan couldn’t help but be moved. [I’ve really encountered a big shot.]

Qin Shanhai, the City Lord of Jianghai City, was famous. He was not only the person with the highest authority in Jianghai City, but also one of the top experts. It was said that he was now a Level 54 Knight, about to undergo his Third Profession Change.

In short, the Qin Family could indeed be considered the Family with the largest influence in Jianghai City.

Sun Ge directly stated the background of his group, with the intention of using their identity to intimidate Lu Fan to some extent. After all, no one in Jianghai City could afford to offend the Qin Family.

However, for Lu Fan, the other party’s identity only surprised him a little. It did not change how he really viewed them. After all, Lu Fan had Xiao Ye, and had boundless potential. What he could be was not comparable to the small Qin Family.

After letting go of Lu Fan’s hand, Sun Ge said, “Little Brother, let me be frank with you. We are people from the Qin Family. This time, we originally planned to accompany the Qin Family’s Young Mistress to Level in preparation for the major exam. It was just that we discovered an Opportune Secret Realm. This Opportune Secret Realm requires a minimum of eight people to enter, and we happen to be short one person.”

“At this time, you came. Perhaps this is fate. So, we want to spend 100,000 Dragon Coins to invite you to our team to fill up the numbers and open this Secret Realm. In the Secret Realm, you don’t need to personally take action. We will be responsible for all the battles, and even the materials in the Secret Realm can all belong to you. What do you think? This kind of good thing can’t be easily encountered.”

Normally, Sun Ge had brought out his identity and offered sufficiently generous conditions, so an ordinary Monster Material Hunter would not possibly refuse. After all, this was an opportunity equivalent to picking up money for free, and they could also build a good relationship with the Qin Family. For Monster Material Hunters, this was definitely an unimaginably windfall.

However, Lu Fan unexpectedly shook his head, contrary to Sun Ge’s expectations, “I don’t have much interest in money and materials, but I am very interested in the final rewards of the Secret Realm.”

After Lu Fan finished speaking, Cai’er, who was standing behind Sun Ge, couldn’t hold back anymore and scolded while suppressing her rage, “Hey, don’t go too far! You’re originally just here to fill up the numbers. We’re already promising you so much money and materials. The conditions are already very generous. How can you have the nerve to raise the price on the spot?”

Sun Ge waved his hand, signalling Cai’er not to speak rashly, lest she end up angering Lu Fan. If the other party then left, they would once again lose the opportunity to enter the Secret Realm.

Qin Qiu, who hadn’t spoken much, had the bearing of a true Young Mistress, spoke up, “We definitely can’t give you the Secret Realm rewards for free. If you can propose some other conditions. If they aren’t too excessive, we can try our best to satisfy them.”

After a pause, Qin Qiu solemnly added, “Although we are indeed asking for your help, please don’t be too greedy.”

Lu Fan rubbed his nose, also knowing that if this matter could not be agreed upon, it would be a lose-lose situation. Therefore, he said with a smile, “I think you’ve misunderstood my intentions. What I mean is, I’m not willing to just fill up the numbers, but want to clear this Secret Realm together with you. I believe you should also know the rules of cooperatively clearing Secret Realms, right? According to the ranking of the total healing and damage dealt by the team, after clearing the Secret Realm, the Secret Realm rewards are selected in order from highest to lowest ranking.”

“You want to cooperate with us to enter the Secret Realm?” Qin Qiu was a bit surprised.

Lu Fan nodded, “That’s right, that’s what I mean.”

Qin Qiu looked at Sun Ge. Sun Ge’s expression also revealed a hint of surprise, but he then secretly nodded to Qin Qiu, seeming to agree with Lu Fan’s idea.

As Lu Fan said, these were widely recognized rules for cooperatively clearing Secret Realms and Dungeon Instances. After clearing, the rewards would be selected according to the comprehensive ranking of damage dealt and healing done, with the higher ranked Players getting to choose their reward first.

This method was very fair, but for Sun Ge, it was actually more advantageous for them.

Because Sun Ge’s Level was very high, and Qin Qiu had a Hidden Profession. As such, the sum of their damage dealt and healing done would be considerable, definitely able to rank in the top two.

As for the others, they were also around Level 20, including Mages, Archers, and other Professions that would deal high damage.

If Lu Fan, a Monster Material Hunter, really entered the Secret Realm, it would be already considered good if he could rank in the top five.

A Secret Realm generally only rewarded three to four items, so Qin Qiu and the others would most likely be able to take all the rewards.

Sun Ge estimated that Lu Fan probably felt confident in his strength since he could hunt Monsters and collect materials alone in the Mountain Stone Plains. Little did he know that his clever scheme would fall flat on his face. If they really looked at the rankings, he might not even be able to rank in the top five.

Therefore, after communicating with Qin Qiu through eye contact, Sun Ge agreed to Lu Fan’s request, “Alright, since you want to cooperate to clear the Secret Realm, then let’s do it that way.”

At this time, perhaps Qin Qiu felt guilty. She did not want Lu Fan to busy himself only to end up with nothing. Or, perhaps she was afraid that if Lu Fan got nothing in the end, he would make trouble for them, increasing unnecessary problems. Thus, she added, “the 100,000 Dragon Coins we’ve promised before still stands.”
