Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 15, Opportune Secret Realm

Other than her, the rest were a mix of both genders. They were all slightly older, mostly in their twenties. They all looked like attendants.

Among them, a middle-aged man carrying a greatsword on his back stood out. He was a High Level Player that had his Profession Changed. Although his Level couldn’t be seen, Lu Fan could estimate based on his aura that he was definitely above Level 20.

With their setup, they definitely weren’t Monster Material Hunters. They should be from some powerful and influential Family, following their Young Mistress, who had just undergone her Profession Change. It was obvious her Family had dispatched some experts to protect her when she came to the Mountain Stone Plains to Level Up. It should be in order to perform well in the upcoming major exam.

Lu Fan thought for a bit and, to be safe, put Xiao Ye back into the Pet Sub-Space first.

It wasn’t that Lu Fan was trying to keep a low profile. It was mainly because he wasn’t too clear about this group’s identities, Levels, and strength. Exposing that he had a Dragon too early would not be wise.

Originally, Lu Fan had planned to wait for this group to leave before going to claim the Treasure Map.

In a place like the Wilderness, it was best not to interact with people if possible.

However, the other party didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving anytime soon. They were all staying put, seemingly resting, and discussing something.

Lu Fan gradually lost patience and simply decided to go straight down from the mountain ridge. He decided to just go straight ahead and claim the Treasure Map before leaving.

At this time, at the foot of the mountain ridge.

Qin Qiu held her magic staff, her pretty face filled with anxiety.

“Uncle Ge, are we really going to let go of such a good opportunity?”

The ‘Uncle Ge’ she referred to was named Sun Ge. He was the middle-aged man carrying the greatsword on his back that Lu Fan had specifically taken note of.

He had the highest Level of the group, and was the strongest present. He was also the backbone of the entire group.

Faced with his Young Mistress’s questioning, Sun Ge gave a wry smile and rubbed his rough beard, saying, “It’s not like we have a choice. This Opportune Secret Realm requires a minimum of eight people to enter, but we only have seven. We simply don’t meet the requirements to enter.”

Qin Qiu frowned and, after some thought, said, “Then if we have Cai’er, who has the highest Agility, return to Jianghai City now and call for some experts…”

A woman wearing leather armour, with an ordinary appearance shook her head, pouring cold water on Qin Qiu’s idea, “That won’t work either.”

“This place is too far from Jianghai City. Even for me, a round trip would take more than a day.”

So-called Opportune Secret Realms randomly spawned in any location in the Wilderness. If no one enters it, they would disappear and reappear somewhere else.

“The energy of this Opportune Secret Realm is already unstable. It looks like it has already been here for some time. I estimate that in another half a day, it will disappear from here. In short, there’s definitely not enough time to return to Jianghai City to call for reinforcements so that we can enter the Secret Realm.”

“Erm…” Qin Qiu was at a loss for words.

After a long while, she let out a long sigh.

Secret Realms were similar to Dungeon Instances. However, unlike Dungeon Instances, generally speaking, once a Dungeon Instance appeared, it could be cleared who knew how many times. Even if one was lucky enough to get equipment rewards, it was very difficult to encounter anything really good.

Secret Realms were different though. Although their form didn’t differ much from Dungeon Instances, the drop rates in Secret Realms were much better than Dungeon Instances.

If top quality equipment, Skill Books, and such really dropped, it would be enough to lay down the foundation for a Player.

Therefore, encountering a Secret Realm, especially this kind of randomly spawned Opportune Secret Realm, was like picking up money on the road.

Seeing money on the ground but being unable to pick it up due to insufficient numbers, who could stand that?

Seeing Qin Qiu so disappointed, Sun Ge could empathise and consoled, “Young Mistress, you don’t need to be so anxious. With your strength, you will definitely be the top scorer in Jianghai City for the major exam. Even in South Province, you’ll definitely have no problem ranking in the top twenty. With your Hidden Profession, you can freely choose among the top ten Universities. As long as you enter one of the top ten Universities, the University will definitely provide other Secret Realms for you to go through in the future.”

“Uncle Ge, I know this already…” Qin Qiu shook her head, then gave a wry smile and said, “You’re right. If it’s not my fate, I shouldn’t force it. Since we have no way to enter this Opportune Secret Realm, then forget it…”

Seeing his Young Mistress had finally let it go, Sun Ge was about to console her a bit more when suddenly, his Warrior’s Combat Instinct made his expression tense up. He immediately gripped the hilt of the greatsword on his back while looking in a direction, roaring, “Who?!”

Everyone became alert and picked up their weapons. They instinctively moved around to protect Qin Qiu in the middle.

Lu Fan hadn’t expected the other party to react so intensely. Even so, he did not mind. He still slowly walked over while loudly declaring, “No need to be nervous, I’m just passing by.”

Passing by?!

Sun Ge and the others were all stunned. They watched Lu Fan, such a strange person, stroll towards an open space, only twenty metres away from them. After standing still and pausing for a moment, without even glancing at them, he continued forward. It seemed as though he really was just passing by and now planned on leaving.
