World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

Evan fought against the skeleton for nearly an hour and was finally able to use most of the moves of the Basic Sword Art naturally.

Dodging the skeleton’s attacks, whose body was already tattered from their prolonged battle, Evan backed away and smiled slightly.

”Thanks for practicing with me. Let’s end this now.”

The skeleton did not respond to Evan and merely stared at him with its empty eye sockets.

Evan shook his head when he saw this, and his figure instantly appeared before the skeleton, his sword already cutting toward its head.

The skeleton reacted quickly and brought its sword in front of its head to block the incoming attack.

However, in the middle of his attack, Evan twisted his wrist slightly, and the Black Star suddenly changed direction, striking toward the skeleton’s chest instead of its head.

BANG!

The Black Star struck its bony chest and sent its body flying backward. The skeleton’s body rolled across the ground, and it quickly tried to stand up.

But before it could, Evan appeared in front of it in an instant.

He clenched his fist and punched directly toward the skeleton’s skull.

BOOM!

The tremendous force behind his punch completely shattered the skeleton’s tattered skull, sending bone fragments flying everywhere.

The skeleton’s body paused for a second before collapsing onto the ground, motionless.

[You have killed a Rank One Undead Skeleton Captain, Level 37. You can’t... ]

Evan glanced at the notification before sitting down to recover his stamina. He looked at the crimson sword that the skeleton had been using and saw that it had turned into a rusted bone sword after the skeleton died.

”This damn place really isn’t giving me anything...” He cursed under his breath before letting out a sigh.

After resting for half an hour, Evan stood up and continued deeper into the third floor.

He had just walked for about ten minutes when he came across several more tombstones glowing with a faint red light.

This time, there were three of them.

Although he knew there were three skeletons waiting for him ahead, Evan calmly approached the tombstones.

RUMBLE!

As soon as he came close, all three tombstones suddenly began to shake, and a moment later, they burst apart.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Three Skeleton Captains emerged from within the shattered tombstones.

Each of them was holding a crimson sword in their bony hands.

Evan had just fought the same kind of skeleton for over an hour, and during that time, he had completely understood the attack patterns of the Skeleton Captain.

As such, it was very easy for him to face them.

Evan looked at the three of them for a moment before he charged toward them.

SWOOSH!

His figure flashed across the graveyard as the three Skeleton Captains immediately raised their swords and attacked him.

However, Evan effortlessly avoided their attacks while countering with precise strikes.

CLANG! CRACK! SWOOSH!

One skeleton after another was shattered, and within only three minutes, he killed all three Skeleton Captains.

After killing the three skeletons, Evan looked deeper into the graveyard with a slightly nervous expression.

”I can’t even imagine what I’m going to face on the fourth floor.”

He glanced at the countless tombstones around him.

”There are already Rank One Skeletons everywhere on the third floor. That means I’ll probably have to face hordes of Rank One Skeletons on the fourth floor.”

He looked at his hand and couldn’t help but think about his Wind Monarch skill.

”Only if I could use mana...”

He sighed when he remembered the restrictions of his evolution requirements.

However, he quickly shook his head and continued forward.

After killing several more Skeleton Captains, Evan finally arrived at the end of the third floor.

[You have reached the end of the third floor. You can enter the fourth floor now.]

A large black portal appeared in front of him, and without hesitation, Evan stepped inside.

After traveling through the portal for a short while, Evan emerged on the other side, finding himself standing in another graveyard.

The environment here was similar to the third floor, but there were far more tombstones and bones scattered throughout the area.

The sheer number of bones made the graveyard look much larger and more ominous than the previous floor.

[You have arrived at the fourth floor of the dungeon. To start exploring the fourth floor, say ”Begin Exploration.”]

Just like before, Evan didn’t immediately begin exploring.

He first found a suitable place to rest, took out some food from his Storage Ring, and ate until his stomach was full.

After resting for several hours and making sure that his stamina had completely recovered, he finally stood up.

”Begin Exploration!”

The moment his voice echoed throughout the graveyard, the entire area began to shake violently.

RUMBLE! RUMBLE! RUMBLE!

One tombstone after another began cracking.

Then—

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! - - - -

Skeletons began emerging from beneath the tombstones.

Evan’s eyes narrowed when he saw this.

At first, he assumed that he would only encounter Rank One Skeletons on the fourth floor.

But to his surprise, the skeletons emerging from the tombstones were all unranked.

For a moment, he couldn’t help but let out a sigh of relief, as he had been afraid that he would be facing a horde of Rank One Skeletons on the fourth floor.

’Looks like the fourth floor isn’t as difficult as I expected.’

He muttered to himself as a smile appeared on his face.

However, the smile didn’t last long, and Evan’s expression soon stiffened.

The ground continued to shake, and more and more tombstones continued to burst apart.

As the tombstones burst, more and more skeletons emerged.

Evan’s face gradually darkened as he watched the number of skeletons increase.

One hundred...

Two hundred...

Three hundred...

Four hundred...

The number continued climbing.

Five hundred.

Eight hundred.

One thousand.

And eventually—

Two thousand.

Evan stood there with a deadpan expression as he looked at the enormous army of skeletons standing before him.

”...Are you kidding me?”

There were nearly two thousand unranked Skeleton Soldiers standing in front of Evan, and as every single one of them stared at him with their hollow eyes, even he couldn’t help but feel a chill run down his spine.

Then, as if receiving the same command, the entire army began moving toward him.

Evan instinctively took a step backward.

”What the hell is wrong with this dungeon?! How am I supposed to kill all of them without using mana?!”

He screamed while looking at the massive army advancing toward him.

Evan tried to remain calm, and his mind worked rapidly.

’There must be a way to pass this floor.’

He carefully analyzed the situation.

Although there were thousands of skeletons, their individual strength wasn’t enough to threaten him.

’My Agility and Strength are far superior to theirs. Individually, these skeletons can’t even take a single attack from me.’

His eyes narrowed, and when the army was about 150 meters away, an idea suddenly flashed through Evan’s mind.

’What if I simply make a path through them and run toward the end of the graveyard?’

His eyes lit up.

’That’s right. I don’t need to kill every single skeleton. As long as I kill the skeletons that get in my way and continue moving forward, I should be able to reach the other side.’

Evan thought about this method and felt it was worth giving a try.

With his current Agility, there was no way these unranked skeletons could catch him.

There were only two things he needed to pay attention to after diving inside the army of skeletons.

First, he had to be faster than the skeletons.

Otherwise, the skeletons behind him would eventually catch up to him, and he would be surrounded by them, eventually being overwhelmed by their sheer numbers.

Second, he needed to kill every skeleton that appeared in his path with a single attack so that his speed wouldn’t slow down while running.

If even one of them managed to slow him down, the surrounding skeletons would immediately trap him.

Evan’s eyes flashed with a cold light, and when the army was just fifty meters away, he took a step forward.

”Let’s do this.”

BOOM!

The bones beneath Evan’s feet exploded into bone powder, and he immediately rushed forward.

Seeing Evan charging toward them, the skeletons raised their weapons.

Evan arrived before the front skeletons and swung the Black Star.

BOOOOOOM!

The blade swept through the skeletons in front of him.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

More than five Skeleton Soldiers were shattered by a single slash, and a small gap appeared in the front of the army.

Evan immediately charged into the group and continued running deeper into the army.

Every time he swung his sword, several skeletons were destroyed.

BOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM! BOOOOOOM!

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK! - - - -

There were simply too many skeletons.

No matter how many Evan killed, more continued rushing toward him.

But Evan didn’t slow down.

He continued moving forward while blowing away everything in his path.

Because the skeletons were packed so tightly together, the ones Evan left behind couldn’t even chase after him properly.

They were constantly getting in one another’s way, preventing the skeletons farther behind from catching up.

This reduced the pressure on Evan considerably.

’There are just too many of these guys...’

Evan’s hands moved in a steady rhythm as he alternated between attacks.

One slash.

Another slash.

Then another.

Each attack opened a path through the army.

Fifty meters.

Eighty meters.

One hundred meters.

Like an incomparably sharp blade, Evan had stabbed directly into the heart of the skeleton army.

Not a single Skeleton Soldier had managed to hit him as he continued moving without stopping.

Within moments, Evan had already charged deep into the center of the enormous army.

The number of skeletons that had fallen beneath his sword was impossible to count.

The enormous skeleton army surrounding Evan seemed almost like a useless decoration.

Even after reaching the center, Evan continued charging forward.

However, just then—

CLANG!

Evan’s Black Star suddenly collided with something much harder than the ordinary Skeleton Soldiers.

His sword shattered the skeleton in front of him, but his momentum was abruptly disrupted.

Evan’s eyes widened as he looked at the skeleton he had just destroyed.

’What the...’

Seeing that its bones were different from those of the normal skeletons, Evan immediately realized that it was actually a Rank One Skeleton Captain.

Among the countless unranked Skeleton Soldiers, there were several stronger Skeleton Captains hidden in the center.

And because Evan had lost his running momentum for a brief moment, the surrounding Skeleton Soldiers immediately began closing in around him.
