World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

After seeing the pack of wolves, Evan didn’t make a sound. He simply remained on the tree and looked down at them, hoping that the wolves wouldn’t be able to notice him.

He even began silently chanting his ”You can’t see me” mantra inwardly, something he had often used when he was a child.

Back then, he used to believe that if he closed his eyes and repeatedly chanted ”You can’t see me,” his grandparents wouldn’t be able to find him while they were playing hide-and-seek.

Unfortunately, just like it had never worked in the past, his mantra seemed to fail this time as well.

The moment the wolves emerged from the bushes, all five of them began looking around, as if they already knew there was someone nearby.

Soon, all five of them circled around the tree where he was hiding and raised their heads, looking toward the direction where he was hiding behind the canopy of the tree.

Evan was speechless when he saw this and couldn’t understand how they had noticed him so easily when he was hiding on a tree.

There were five wolves in total.

Four of them were around two meters tall and had black fur and deep-black eyes. Because of their black fur, Evan had difficulty seeing them clearly, as their bodies blended almost perfectly into the darkness of the forest.

The last wolf was around three meters tall. It also had black fur and black eyes, but its fur looked considerably tougher and more durable than that of the other four wolves.

Moreover, its aura was also noticeably stronger than that of the other four wolves, indicating that it was the leader of the pack.

The four smaller wolves were around Level 22 or 23, while the giant wolf was Level 25.

From the aura it was releasing, Evan could tell that it was already standing at the peak of the Unranked realm and was trying to break through into Rank One.

Just when Evan was wondering how they had figured out that someone was here and might be hiding on the tree, the leader of the wolf pack suddenly raised its head and sniffed the air.

Seeing this, Evan finally understood how his location had been discovered.

’They can smell me.’

It was also at this moment that Evan noticed that the wind was actually flowing in the direction the wolves had come from.

’Damn it, if I had noticed it earlier, I could have used Wind Monarch to stop the wind from carrying my smell to them.’

Although the wolves had figured out his location, Evan did not panic much. After all, with his current Agility of over 50 points, combined with the Wind Aura from Wind Monarch, he felt that if he tried, he could escape from these wolves without much trouble.

However, since the wolves had already found his location, he felt that running away without even trying to fight them would be a waste of time.

After thinking for a while, he decided to give it a try.

If he could fight them without putting himself in too much danger, he would fight.

But if the situation turned serious, he would run away without hesitation.

Before fighting, however, he needed to bring his fighting power to its peak.

’I have been saving all my Free Stat Points for a situation like this. It’s time to use them.’

Evan thought and opened his Status Window.

He was currently Level 14 and had 28 Free Stat Points that he could use to increase his power.

He had deliberately saved those points for an emergency situation like this so that he could increase the stats that he needed the most to overcome any unexpected situation.

Out of the 28 Free Stat Points, he used 8 points to increase his Magic to 123.

This would increase the power of his Wind Monarch skill, making his Wind Bullet, Wind Slash, and Wind Aura even more powerful.

He then used 10 points to increase his Agility to 65.

With the additional +5 bonus from his Bloom Earring, his effective Agility reached 70 points.

The increased Agility would allow him to attack faster, making it easier for him to dodge the wolves’ attacks and also allowing him to run away if the situation turned serious.

Finally, he used the remaining 10 points to increase his Strength to 75.

With his increased Strength, the power of his sword attacks would become considerably greater, allowing him to kill the wolves more efficiently.

After using all his Free Stat Points, Evan immediately felt stronger and more confident than before.

After checking his Status Window, Evan closed it and focused on the wolves.

While he was thinking and preparing for the upcoming battle, the four smaller wolves slowly spread out and surrounded the tree from all sides.

Only the leader of the pack didn’t move and stood some distance away from the tree.

Evan didn’t panic when he saw he was surrounded and calmly looked down at the four wolves.

’Guess it’s time to test my latest skill. It should be very useful in a situation like this.’

Evan’s eyes narrowed slightly, and immediately, an invisible spiritual force spread out from him as the center, enveloping the four wolves surrounding the tree.

Intimidation!

The instant he used the skill, the expressions of the four wolves immediately changed.

Their movements slowed, and their eyes became unfocused, as though they had suddenly lost the will to fight.

Their legs also began trembling uncontrollably, and they felt an overwhelming sense of fear, similar to how Evan had felt when the Giant Bull had used the skill on him.

The minds of Unranked magical beasts were relatively weak, making spiritual-type skills an extremely effective counter against them.

Seeing that his skill was working perfectly, Evan didn’t waste any time and immediately jumped down from the tree.

Knowing that he needed to lower the number of wolves first, he raised his finger while still in midair and fired two Wind Bullets toward one of the wolves that was still trembling under the effects of Intimidation.

SWISH! SWISH!

The two Wind Bullets tore through the air and shot toward the wolf at incredible speed.

The wolf felt something coming toward it. But because of the effect of Intimidation, it couldn’t even take a step to the side.

The Wind Bullets struck the eyes of the wolf, one in the left and one in the right, and immediately exploded.

BANG! BANG!

Blood splattered from both of its eyes as the wolf collapsed onto the ground, howling in agony.

Evan landed right beside the blind wolf and, without even looking at the result, charged toward the second wolf.

A green aura enveloped his legs, dramatically increasing his speed as he immediately appeared right in front of the wolf, which was about five meters away.

He swung Black Star toward its neck with all his strength. At the same time, the green Wind Aura surrounding his body flowed into his sword.

The Wind Aura didn’t merely cover the blade.

It also enveloped his entire arm, allowing him to channel even more power into the attack.

SLASH!

Black Star cut through the trembling wolf’s neck like a hot knife through butter.

Blood sprayed into the air as the wolf’s head flew through the air, splattering blood everywhere.

Evan immediately prepared to attack another wolf and was about to move forward.

But suddenly, his instincts screamed danger, and he quickly jumped sideways, rolling across the ground.

BOOM!

The instant he jumped aside, a dark energy ball struck the exact spot where he had been standing a moment earlier.

The ground exploded into small pieces of rubble, creating a crater nearly one meter wide.

Evan’s expression changed when he saw this as he knew that if he hadn’t dodged at the last moment, that attack would have seriously injured him.

He quickly looked toward the direction from which the attack had come and saw the tall leader of the wolf pack staring directly at him with bloodshot eyes.

The Level 25 wolf had never expected that this two-legged creature would be able to kill one of its pack members so quickly while making another one blind.

Evan also noticed that his Intimidation skill wasn’t working on the leader.

However, it wasn’t particularly surprising.

His Intimidation was only Rank One, Level 1, while the leader was a Level 25 magical beast standing at the peak of the Unranked realm and was only one step away from becoming a Rank One magical beast.

The difference in their mental strength was simply too great.

The leader of the wolf pack suddenly raised its head and released a furious howl.

AOOOOOO!

The howl echoed across the silent forest, and the moment it reached the other two wolves, their trembling gradually stopped and their unfocused eyes regained clarity.

A look of shock appeared on Evan’s face as he stared at the leader.

’It can even nullify the effect of Intimidation on the other wolves.’
