World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

Upon seeing Evan enter its territory, the bear slowly stood up on its hind legs, and its powerful aura began spreading through the surroundings.

Sensing the overwhelming aura coming from the bear, Evan couldn’t help but think that perhaps he should find another magical beast to level up.

But that thought lasted only for a second before he immediately threw it out of his mind, and his expression turned serious.

Once the bear stood fully upright, it was only around two meters tall, but the pressure it emitted was so powerful that even the surrounding air seemed to tremble.

Evan stopped moving and carefully observed the bear.

The bear also stared at Evan, sensing that the aura coming from the two-legged creature in front of it was somewhat familiar.

Then, as if it had suddenly remembered where it had sensed this aura before and its eyes instantly turned bloodshot.

”ROAR!”

The bear let out an enraged roar that made the surrounding trees tremble before it instantly charged toward Evan on its two hind legs.

Evan’s eyes narrowed as Wind Aura instantly enveloped his body, covering even the Black Star in his hand.

BOOM!

The ground beneath his feet sank as he shot toward the charging bear.

His speed was far greater than the magical beast’s.

The distance of one hundred meters between them disappeared in the blink of an eye, and they arrived in front of each other almost instantly.

The bear swung one of its massive claws toward Evan, intending to smash the head of the person who had killed its companion.

Evan didn’t back away either.

He tightened his grip around the Black Star and swung his sword with all his strength.

BOOM!

Their attacks collided, and a powerful explosion erupted from the point of impact.

The ground beneath their feet sank and then collapsed, forming a small pit.

Evan felt a tremendous force travel through his sword.

Unable to resist the overwhelming power, his body was sent flying backward as if he had been struck by a speeding bull.

BANG!

His body crashed into a tree five meters away, snapping the tree in half before he fell heavily to the ground.

An iron-like taste filled his mouth.

However, thanks to his Steel Body, Wolf Robe, and the Wind Shield he had created at the last moment before crashing into the tree, he wasn’t seriously injured.

Evan slowly stood up and looked at his trembling hand holding the Black Star.

His hand was still shaking from the impact of the earlier clash as the bear’s strength had far exceeded his expectations.

He looked toward the bear and saw it staring at the large slash on its claw, with a few drops of blood dripping onto the ground.

Although the bear was far stronger than he had expected, instead of feeling afraid, Evan felt his blood begin to boil with excitement.

’Killing it won’t be easy, but if I manage to defeat this bear, not only will I reach Level 25, but my strength will also improve tremendously.’

The bear tore its gaze away from the shallow wound on its arm, a look of surprise still lingering in its eyes.

But that surprise was soon replaced by fury as it couldn’t believe that it had actually been wounded by such a seemingly weak creature.

”ROAR!”

The bear let out another furious roar and charged toward Evan once again.

Evan’s eyes gleamed with battle intent and he also moved.

At the same time, the twelve free stat points on his status window disappeared as he allocated all of them to his Agility, pushing his speed to its limit.

Wind Aura flared around his body, and his figure turned into a blur as he instantly closed the distance between himself and the bear.

The bear was surprised by Evan’s sudden increase in speed and immediately swung its claw toward him.

But just as the claw was about to reach him, Evan’s eyes narrowed and his speed increased once again.

His figure suddenly disappeared from the bear’s sight.

The bear was still in the middle of its attack when it realized that Evan had vanished and a look of confusion appeared in its eyes.

But in the next instant, its expression changed when it sensed Evan’s aura coming from behind it.

It immediately tried to turn around. But before it could—

BANG!

Evan’s fist slammed into the back of its head.

Before the bear could even feel the pain from the first punch, Evan used his Agility of over 130 points together with Wind Aura and landed three more punches in the exact same spot.

BOOOOOOM!

A powerful sonic boom erupted from the point of impact and the bear felt as if its head had been struck by a massive hammer.

”ROAR!”

It roared in pain and staggered forward before collapsing onto the ground from the impact.

Evan didn’t waste this opportunity and immediately swung the Black Star toward the bear’s neck.

But just as the sword was about to make contact, the fur covering the bear’s body suddenly began to shine with brilliant silver light.

CLANG!

The Black Star struck the shining fur, and the sound of metal clashing against metal echoed through the surroundings.

Evan’s expression changed slightly, and he immediately backed away.

The bear slowly rose from the ground and glared at him with rage-filled eyes.

At the same time, the silver glow surrounding its fur disappeared.

’A defensive skill?’

Evan stared at the bear’s fur thoughtfully.

But the bear didn’t give him much time to think and once again charged toward him.

Evan tightened his grip around the Black Star and stared at the charging magical beast.

”ROAR!”

The bear let out a deafening roar the instant it came close, making Evan’s ears ring.

But such a small disturbance was nothing to him, and he didn’t get distracted.

He watched as the bear’s claw came toward his head, bringing with it a heavy sense of oppression.

Just as the claw was about to strike him, Evan dodged to the side and slashed toward its arm.

WOOSH!

The Black Star, coated in Wind Aura, cut through its fur and left another shallow wound on its arm.

The bear winced in pain and took a step backward.

This time, the silver glow didn’t appear to defend it.

’It seems there are some limitations to that skill...’

Evan’s eyes narrowed as he looked at the injured claw.

’It’s good that it isn’t a skill that it can activate whenever it receives an attack. If I attack it at full speed and don’t give it enough time to activate the skill, I should be able to injure it severely.’

Evan didn’t give the bear any chance to recover after injuring its arm.

He immediately stepped forward and swung the Black Star toward its injured arm again.

The bear roared in anger when it saw this and met the sword with its left claw.

BOOOOOOM!

The instant their attacks collided, the silver glow once again appeared around the bear’s claw.

Evan’s expression changed when he saw it.

CLANG!

The sound of metal colliding with metal echoed through the surroundings.

At the same time, a tremendous force traveled through the Black Star, nearly tearing it from Evan’s grip.

’What the...?’

Evan’s eyes widened in shock.

He had thought that the silver glow was something that increased the bear’s defense.

But he never expected it to increase its strength as well.

Before Evan could recover from the impact, the bear took advantage of his unstable stance.

With another furious roar, it swung its other claw toward Evan’s chest.

Evan hurriedly created a Wind Shield in front of himself while simultaneously trying to evade the attack.

However—

BOOM!

The Wind Shield shattered almost instantly, and the bear’s claw continued toward his chest.

At the last moment, Evan managed to bring the Black Star in front of himself.

CLANG!

The bear’s attack struck the sword with tremendous force, and Evan was sent flying backward for nearly fifteen meters before crashing heavily into a large rock.

Before he could even recover from the impact, the bear was already in front of him.

It raised one of its massive legs and brought it down toward Evan’s head, intending to crush his skull.

’Not good!’

Evan’s pupils contracted to the size of needles as he watched the heavy leg descend toward his head.

Without thinking twice, he immediately activated Wind Monarch and condensed nearly fifty percent of his remaining mana into a massive Wind Blade.

The Wind Blade shot toward the bear’s raised leg.

RIP!

The blade struck the side of its leg, and a fountain of blood erupted from the wound.

A terrifying gash appeared as the Wind Blade nearly severed the bear’s leg in two.

”ROAR!”

The bear let out a deafening roar of pain and collapsed onto the ground, clutching its wounded leg as it continued roaring in agony.

Evan quickly got back on his feet with a pale face and hurriedly created some distance between himself and the bear.

His breathing was heavy.

A streak of blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, and several of his ribs were broken from the earlier attack.

He also had only around thirty-five percent of his mana remaining.

’This is getting dangerous.’ Evan’s expression became serious as he knew he needed to finish the bear as quickly as possible.

The longer the battle continued, the worse his situation would become.

Enduring the pain coming from his broken ribs, Evan tightened his grip around the Black Star and prepared to launch another attack.

But before he could move, he suddenly saw a silver glow appear around the bear’s almost severed leg and the flesh around the wound began to move.

Under the strange silver glow, the almost severed leg started healing at an unbelievable speed and un less than three seconds, the terrifying wound had already begun to close.

Evan’s face darkened when he saw this and he gritted his teeth as he stared at the rapidly healing leg.

”Just what the hell is this?”
