World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

After entering the Dark Forest, Evan once again headed deeper into the Outer Zone.

As he made his way through the forest, he encountered several magical beasts, but he ignored them because their levels were too low.

Even if he killed them, he would only receive a small number of stat points.

When he killed the Level 9 Sky Eagle, he received a very small number of stat points compared to what he had obtained from the Forest Tiger.

Evan knew that the stronger the magical beast he killed during the early stages of his evolutionary journey, the stronger he would become in the later stages.

After all, killing magical beasts didn’t just allow him to gain stat points and level up. Along with those benefits, his entire existence would also become stronger, including his soul.

The stronger the magical beast he killed during the early stages of his evolution, the greater the improvement to his overall foundation would be.

Considering all of this, he decided to hunt only high-level magical beasts.

With his current abilities, avoiding low-level magical beasts wasn’t a problem for him anyway.

Two hours after entering the forest, Evan came across another magical beast that looked like a bear.

When he looked at it from a distance, he wasn’t able to see its level using his passive skill, Level Appraisal.

However, now that Evan had reached Level 7 and had started his evolutionary journey, he could faintly sense the strength of his opponents to some extent.

From the aura it emitted, Evan was certain that this magical beast’s level was just slightly higher than the Forest Tiger.

After realizing the magical beast’s strength, he didn’t hesitate and walked toward it.

As he got closer, he was able to see the magical beast more clearly.

It was a three-meter-tall bear covered in black fur that looked as though it were made of steel.

Just looking at its fur, Evan was certain that he would have to put in a lot of effort if he wanted to kill this bear, as its defense appeared to be even stronger than that of the Forest Tiger.

When the bear sensed someone approaching, it turned its head toward Evan, who was standing only fifty meters away.

ROAR!

The moment the bear realized that Evan had entered its territory, it let out a powerful roar that shook the surroundings.

Standing up on its hind legs, the bear stared at Evan with murderous eyes before charging toward him.

Evan tightly gripped Black Star and stared at the charging bear with narrowed eyes.

Although he had become much stronger after fighting the Forest Tiger, he knew that he still couldn’t afford to be careless in front of such a powerful magical beast.

The bear was clearly a strength-type magical beast that excelled in both strength and defense. However, as Evan watched it charge toward him, he found that the bear’s agility seemed to be around the same as his.

Taking a deep breath, he took a step forward and shot toward the bear, his speed almost matching its own.

The distance of fifty meters vanished in an instant, and as soon as Evan entered its attack range, the bear swung one of its massive front paws toward him.

Evan watched as the thick claw covered in fur got closer to him. However, just as it was about to smash him into the ground, he stepped aside at the very last moment, and the sharp claw brushed past his face.

At the same time, he quickly swung Black Star.

SWISH!

The Mana-coated sword struck the bear from the side.

However...

CLANG!

The sound of metal clashing against metal echoed through the surroundings, and the blade failed to cut deeply into its flesh.

It only left behind a small wound on its shoulder.

Evan’s eyes widened in shock as he quickly pulled back his sword.

Even when he was at Level 0 and his stats were far lower than his current stats, he could still injure the Forest Tiger using Mana-coated Black Star.

However, his attack just now had barely left a small cut on the bear’s shoulder.

Although he already knew the bear’s defense was strong, he hadn’t expected it to be this powerful.

’This is troublesome...’ Evan frowned slightly.

Meanwhile, the bear looked down at its shoulder, and when it saw the small wound Evan had caused, its eyes immediately filled with rage.

ROAR!

The monster let out a deafening roar that shook Evan’s eardrums and once again charged toward him.

When Evan saw the approaching bear, he knew that he couldn’t defeat it using ordinary methods.

’Although it’s not perfect yet, and I am not sure if it will work, I have no other choice. In the worst case, I can always run away since its agility is about the same as mine.’

Evan thought to himself and loosened his grip on Black Star slightly.

At the same time, the blue aura surrounding the sword disappeared.

Evan took a deep breath.

Then, a green aura suddenly appeared around his legs.

The moment the green aura enveloped his legs, Evan’s figure blurred, and he shot toward the charging bear.

Previously, his speed had been roughly the same as the bear’s.

But now, he was almost twice as fast.

The bear, which was charging toward him was caught completely off guard by his sudden increase in speed.

Evan didn’t waste this opportunity and the moment he reached the bear, he swung his sword horizontally.

Just before the blade reached the bear’s chest, a green glow suddenly enveloped Black Star.

The instant the green aura appeared, the sword’s speed and sharpness increased dramatically.

SLASH!

The blade tore through the bear’s steel-like fur and carved a large wound across its chest.

ROAR!

Blood splashed into the air, and the monster let out a painful roar.

Seeing that his attack was finally working, Evan didn’t stop.

Before the bear could recover, he stomped his feet against the ground with all his strength and leaped onto the bear’s back while it was still roaring in pain.

The moment he landed on its back, Evan thrust Black Star toward the bear’s head like a spear.

THUD!

The sword struck the bear’s head and attempted to penetrate toward its brain.

However, the bones and muscles protecting the bear’s skull were incredibly tough, and even with the help of Wind Monarch, Black Star couldn’t pierce through them.

The moment the sword struck its head, the bear felt an unimaginable wave of pain and almost fell to the ground.

ROAR!

The monster let out a tragic roar, and the pain completely overwhelmed its senses.

The monster lost its sanity and began shaking its back violently.

Evan, who was standing on its back immediately crouched down and grabbed its thick fur tightly to prevent himself from being thrown off.

At the same time, he used all his strength to thrust the sword deeper into the monster’s head.

When the bear realized that its hateful enemy was still clinging to its back, its pain slowly turned into fear.

It instinctively understood that if it didn’t do something, it would definitely die.

The bear began roaring desperately while continuing to shake its back violently.

Evan felt that there was something wrong with the way the monster was roaring, and for some reason, his heart began beating faster and faster.

Suddenly, a possibility came to his mind.

And the next instant, as if responding to the monster’s painful roars and Evan’s guess—

ROAR!

Another roar filled with boundless anger suddenly echoed from deep within the forest.

It was the roar of another bear.
