World Evolution: Starting With The Wind Monarch

”I am still far from using it properly.”

Although it looked like Evan had used the Wind Monarch skill quite well during the fight, there was still one major issue with it.

Even though he had become more proficient at controlling his Mana, he still couldn’t use his Wind Aura for a long time because he wasted too much Mana while using it.

If he could control his Mana more efficiently, Evan was certain that he would be able to use his Wind Aura for over ten minutes with his current Mana reserves instead of just a minute or two.

The reason he hadn’t used Wind Aura against the Steel Bear at the beginning of the battle was also because of its extremely high Mana consumption.

If he had run out of Mana in the middle of the battle, it would have been extremely dangerous.

Even if he didn’t die, he knew he would most likely be seriously injured.

Only after confirming that his Agility was almost on par with the monster’s and that he could still escape even after using a large amount of Mana did he dare to use it.

Evan closed his eyes and sighed internally as he felt controlling a Rank One, Level 5 skill really wasn’t an easy task.

But suddenly, the moment Evan closed his eyes, he felt something was different.

He tried to sense the surrounding wind and immediately noticed that he could sense it much more clearly than before.

Moreover, his control over his Mana also seemed to have improved greatly.

Evan was confused by this sudden change, as he couldn’t understand why his ability to sense the surrounding wind and even control it had suddenly improved.

After thinking for a moment, he tried to take control of the surrounding wind using the Wind Monarch skill.

To his surprise, he found that he could control it much more easily than before.

Not only could he control the wind more easily, but even his technique of sensing his surroundings using the wind had improved greatly.

Evan immediately opened his eyes, and a green light flashed within them.

”Wind Blade.”

A sharp blade of wind appeared in front of him and shot toward a nearby tree.

SWISH!

The Wind Blade cut straight through the tree.

However, it didn’t stop there.

After cutting through the first tree, it continued forward and struck the second tree standing behind it.

BOOM!

The second tree was also cut apart and fell to the ground with a loud boom.

Evan stared at the scene in shock, his heart pounding violently.

He wasn’t shocked by the power of the Wind Blade.

What shocked him was the fact that the amount of Mana he had consumed was significantly lower than before.

Yet despite the lower Mana consumption, the power of the Wind Blade had actually increased instead of decreasing.

Evan suddenly remembered that the power of the Wind Monarch skill depended on his Magic stat, Mana, and how he utilized the skill.

His Magic stat had just reached the one-hundred-point mark, so he could understand why the power of his skill had increased greatly.

But what about the other changes?

Why could he suddenly sense the surrounding wind more clearly?

And why could he control his Mana more efficiently than before?

”Could it be that the Magic stat doesn’t only increase the power of my attacks but also improves my control over Mana and skills once it reaches a certain level?”

Although Evan wasn’t certain about this, he couldn’t think of any other explanation for the sudden improvement in his Mana and skill control.

Suddenly, another possibility flashed through his mind.

Perhaps the Magic stat normally increased the power of his attacks, but after reaching certain thresholds, it also improved his control over Mana and skills.

In Evan’s case, his Magic stat had just reached 100 points.

’Could it be that when my Magic reaches 200 points, my Mana control and skill control will improve again?’

The more Evan thought about it, the more excited he became.

He had been struggling because of his poor Mana control, but now he had discovered a possible path that could help him control his Mana and skills more perfectly.

”I have to kill more powerful magical beasts from now on so that I can increase my stat points to even higher.”

Evan decided to rest for a while before going hunting again.

After killing the Steel Bear, his stats had improved tremendously, and his Mana and skill control had also become much more efficient.

Not only had his Mana and Magic increased after the battle, but his Strength had also increased considerably, reaching 50 points.

With his current strength, he was confident that he could defeat a Steel Bear much more easily than before.

After resting for about half an hour, he climbed down from the tree and once again headed deeper into the Dark Forest.

This time, he deliberately chose a different direction because he didn’t want to encounter that enraged Rank One Bear.

Although he had become much stronger than before, he wasn’t stupid enough to think that he could defeat a Rank One magical beast with his current strength.

”But it will be different soon. Even if that bear is a Rank One magical beast, I’ll be able to fight against Rank One magical beasts soon enough.”

If other people heard Evan’s words, they would probably think he was being arrogant.

After all, killing a Rank One magical beast while still being Unranked was extremely difficult.

However, Evan wasn’t being arrogant.

He was simply stating what he believed he would be capable of doing in the near future.

Why was he deliberately hunting higher-level magical beasts?

If he wanted, he could easily kill lower-level magical beasts and still increase his level.

But he didn’t want to increase his level by killing weak magical beasts.

Although killing low-level magical beasts would still allow him to level up, he knew that his overall foundation and existence wouldn’t improve much from doing so.

The higher his stats, the stronger his overall existence would become.

And only by killing higher-level magical beasts could he improve his stats beyond what normal Evolvers could achieve.

For example, if someone killed a low-level magical beast, the number of stat points they received would depend on the difference in power between the two sides.

If the difference between the magical beast and the person killing it was small, they would receive very few stat points or even nothing.

This was exactly what had happened when Evan killed the Sky Eagle.

Compared to the rewards he had received from killing the Forest Tiger and the Steel Bear, the stat points he had obtained from the Sky Eagle were pitifully low.

If someone chose to first level up by killing low-level magical beasts and only started hunting stronger magical beasts after reaching a higher level, they would lose out on the benefits they could have obtained.

For example, suppose someone reached Level 20 by killing low-level magical beasts.

After reaching Level 20, they started hunting magical beasts around Level 24 or 25.

Although those magical beasts were technically higher-level than them, the difference between their levels was no longer significant.

As a result, they would only receive a small number of stat points from each kill or it was even possible that they wouldn’t receive anything.

Everyone knew that there was a limit to how many stat points a person could obtain from killing magical beasts around the same level as themselves or slightly stronger.

Evan understood this principle very well and had no interest in leveling up by killing lower-level magical beasts.

After walking for some time, Evan finally spotted another magical beast and a smile appeared on his face.
