Chapter 1597: Chapter 551: Secrets Hidden in the Murals (Part 3)

It was also not long ago that Rein rescued one of the elven women from the Dragon Scale Brotherhood’s secret realm.

Moreover, judging from her demeanor and actions, she seems to have recovered, likely due to Elder Nasha’s further treatment upon reaching the Imperial City, accelerating her recovery process.

”Elder Nasha, hello.”

”Ms. Daryn, you look much better.” Seeing this, Rein immediately stepped forward and bowed slightly in greeting.

Although Rein holds a higher position both in strength and status within the Dragan Empire compared to the two women, as they are Anna’s elders, Rein naturally needs to greet them first.

This is a form of etiquette, as well as respect for Anna.

”Your Crown, Rein, you’re too kind. Congratulations on becoming the youngest Guardian of the Dragan Empire,” Elder Nasha returned the courtesy immediately.

”Rein, thank you.” Darien Yueling continued smiling warmly, scrutinizing Rein as if evaluating a future son-in-law.

For a moment, Rein felt the pressure from her gaze, seemingly greater than when facing a Divine Incarnation.

After brief pleasantries, the group proceeded to the meeting room within the residence to sit down.

Seizing the opportunity, the capable young woman Olena stepped forward, handing Rein a letter while whispering, ”Sir, Prince Menia hopes you can return to the Imperial City in the next couple of days.”

”Oh?” Rein received the letter from Olena, opened it, and quickly scanned through its contents.

The letter was straightforward; Menia had received an official request from the Federation, which essentially expressed their desire to join forces with the Empire to explore the Floating City ruins, given the current severe situation, hoping the Empire would send experts soon.

Since Menia knew he had explored the Floating City ruins once before, he wanted to ask for his opinion.

However, Rein began to ponder over this matter.

Rein naturally wanted to explore the Floating City ruins, as the lower levels might contain the complete ’Steel Heart’ Advanced Meditation Method.

After all, the Ancient Goblins are the origin of the ’Steel Heart,’ but... in terms of timing, he hadn’t planned on doing it so soon.

Rein’s initial thought was to wait until he achieved the Fifth Level Full Moon Wizard status, and then explore the Ancient Goblins’ Floating City ruins as it would be safer, given the fiends inside are quite difficult to deal with.

”Wait, perhaps the suitable breakthrough location I have been searching for is within the Floating City ruins!”

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration struck Rein’s mind, like a bolt of lightning piercing through the fog.

Previously, he considered multiple places such as the underwater Molten Lava Lake, the underground of a school, or even setting up a chamber in Shirendil, but upon careful thought, none seemed entirely secure.

Because even Empire Emperor Carlos II, despite the reinforced defenses and Witch Arrays in the Dragan Empire Palace, the commotion of demigod ascension still alerted many Evil Gods, who descended avatars to obstruct.

Not to mention the aforementioned areas.

As for the secret realm, it’s even less suitable, Rein had already reviewed several related ancient texts and records during this period.

Choosing to break through in a secret realm would lead to unpredictable deviations in comprehension due to the lack of spatial rules during ascension, and there’s a high probability that the secret realm would be destroyed, which means the Evil Gods would still immediately sense it.

Therefore, one of Rein’s previous contingency plans was to visit Monsoon and the Goddess Church to perform the breakthrough there.

Simply put, it’s using the power of the monsoon and the Goddess to mask the commotion during his ascension.

Of course, there’s an issue; the Goddess Church in the Imperial City might not agree, as the church’s Pope isn’t the familiar Bishop Shion.

Furthermore, there’s a critical issue: under the Imperial City’s Cologne Cathedral, part of the fiend demon’s body is sealed.

If he were to use the Goddess’s power there to conceal the ascension waves, it might result in inadequate suppression of the Demon Power, leading to unforeseen changes, such as... a breach?

However, this time, the ancient frescoes from the medieval era seem to suggest that the ancient Floating City, contaminated by fiend demons, might be able to shield from the Evil God’s perception.

Or perhaps, even if the Evil Gods sense the ascension waves, they would be wary of that place and unable to fully exert their power against him.

”The Floating City might be a better choice, but before that, I need to further verify whether the situation depicted in the frescoes is true,” Rein pondered.

And for this matter, there’s a ready consulting source now.

Regarding the matters of medieval times, humans might only find some fragmented records, but elves are different; as a long-lived race, some of their texts are preserved quite well.

Rein smiled at Elder Nasha beside him, ”Elder Nasha, your timing is perfect; I’d like to consult you on some matters...”
