Chapter 1563: Chapter 538: Crisis and the Search (2)

As the deputy director in charge of the Sword Bearers, it is his duty, and just now, he had heard from Olena about the increasingly severe situation in the Empire. It’s no longer just a problem with the Cult; now it involves multiple Secret Realms within the Empire.

On the other hand, he also wants to learn from Marshal Alfred about intelligence regarding the Dragon Scale Brotherhood.

In Rein’s view, with his current strength and his association with Menia, the conditions for rescuing Anna’s mother, Daryn Yueling, have matured.

Soon, the carriage arrived at the Sword Holder Headquarters.

Inside the office located on the top floor of the administrative building.

”Lord Rein, congratulations on winning the competition.” Marshal Alfred, upon seeing Rein, stood up from behind his desk, smiled, and walked forward.

”Thank you, Marshal.” Rein slightly bowed, showing respect to the person in charge of the Imperial Swordsmen before him.

After some pleasantries, Marshal Alfred got to the main point: ”Rein, you’ve visited several of the Empire’s Secret Realms, such as Fiery Flame Canyon and Dragon Valley... Lately, the situation in the Empire has become increasingly dire, with the current trouble coming from the Secret Realms...”

”Not only us Sword Bearers, but also the Military Department, the Wizard Federation, and other departments and organizations have discovered that the stability of multiple Secret Realms is showing violent fluctuations... Many of these realms were previously closed gateways to other planes. If something truly goes wrong...”

”Currently, the Empire’s Elder Council, ourselves, and the Military have all sent people to investigate...”

”What do you need me to do, Marshal?” Rein frowned slightly and asked.

If that’s the case, the situation the Empire faces is becoming increasingly disastrous.

No wonder he didn’t see Elder Ivan or General Augustus at this competition; they were all dealing with this matter.

”Not for the time being, but once the situation becomes clear, we may need you to step forward. In the meantime, the Empire will also hold a high-level meeting.”

”Understood.” Rein nodded.

However, this means that the matter of Anna’s mother must not be delayed any longer.

After some thought, Rein asked directly, ”Marshal, does the Sword Bearers have any information on the Dragon Scale Brotherhood’s location?”

”Well... Rein, this matter involves the Second Prince, so the Sword Bearer department has always maintained minimal attention. What we can confirm is that the three known locations in the Imperial City are not the true bases of the Dragon Scale Brotherhood; they can only be considered as places for gathering and interaction.”

Marshal Alfred shook his head and said.

However, after hesitating for a moment, Alfred asked, ”Rein, although your strength is impressive now, the opponent is the Imperial Royal Family, so some matters are still...”

At this point, Marshal Alfred stopped talking, trusting that Rein understood his implication.

Rein understood, of course.

However, rescuing Anna’s mother is something he is determined to do.

Thinking it over, Rein decided to reveal part of the truth, ”A very good friend of mine, her mother should be imprisoned at a secret base of the Dragon Scale Brotherhood.”

A very good friend?

Marshal Alfred appeared to realize something. He had known that Rein had several intimate female friends; defending a woman can be understandable for a young man.

No wonder, even if the opponent is the Second Prince, Rein doesn’t intend to back down.

”Actually, the opponent’s base should be in a place similar to a Small Secret Realm, but exactly how to enter or where to enter, the Sword Bearers really don’t know at the moment.”

Marshal Alfred disclosed a piece of crucial information.

”A Small Secret Realm?” Rein nodded.

No wonder the source of their compounds had never been found. Logically speaking, refining these things, whether in terms of the equipment for potions or raw materials, isn’t easy to hide. It must require a fairly large area to carry out this operation.

He had once thought that the secret base should be somewhere underground in Temrael or close to the Dragon Nest.

Now it seems, he underestimated the hand of the Imperial Prince.

However, searching this way is troublesome.

Paying a visit directly, he had thought about it and found it unwise. If the opponent acts desperately, it will be too late for regrets.

However, having the Sword Bearer department send spies to investigate in detail isn’t very practical either, given that the opponent is backed by the Second Prince, a highly sensitive identity.

It seems there’s only one way left.

That is to use the newly mastered Talent Ability, ’Shadow Shifting,’ to search, but... there’s an issue.

Without finding the spatial node of the Secret Realm, searching randomly is like finding a needle in a haystack, and it consumes a lot of spiritual power. Additionally, there’s no way the opponent’s Secret Realm is unguarded; it must have a large protective Witch Array.

Trying to break through the protective array of a large Witch Array to forcibly enter the Small Secret Realm would likely consume an enormous amount of spiritual power.

”It seems I must first have people find clues to narrow down the area as much as possible, and on the other hand, I need to study the Steel Heart Advanced Meditation Method Fifth Layer to further enhance my spiritual power,” Rein pondered.

....

Leaving the Sword Holder Headquarters, Rein soon arrived at the entrance of his own mansion.

However, the sound of bustling voices and the sight through the carriage window of the long line of people along the roadside caught him off guard!

With Rein’s victory over the Imperial Guardian Pantoscoke, titled ’Storm Cloud,’ in the Royal Arena, the news spread rapidly over the past two days.
