Chapter 3190: Chapter 3191: Turul

”Kasata,” Angel softly repeated the name: ”It seems we’re quite fated.”

Kasata was the Crystal Eye Clan Elder who had previously conducted the summoning ritual at the Ring Fort, calling forth an ”old friend.”

Now, unexpectedly, there’s also the shadow of Kasata behind the Crystal Pool.

Angel couldn’t help but suspect that this wasn’t just ”fate,” but rather some sort of omen of a beginning.

As for what kind of beginning or what kind of omen, Angel had a premonition that perhaps once Glaipnir found the answer, everything would become clear...

Angel’s focus was on Kasata, but Luigi, having watched the light screen segment, shifted his focus elsewhere: ”A powerful person can actually pre-select a Crystal Embryo? And it’s custom-made? What about me? What about mine?”

Luigi’s soul questioned, filled with both joy and doubt. It was as if he could already see a Crystal Embryo flying towards him.

Angel didn’t want to shatter Luigi’s beautiful dream, but with Laplace indifferent and Glaipnir absent, he had to step up: ”Hmm... Luigi, have you ever considered a possibility.”

Luigi: ”What possibility?”

Angel: ”From Kasata’s perspective, you might not be such a powerful person... So, there’s no pre-selection for you?”

Luigi’s eyebrows furrowed: ”How could that be possible? Didn’t you just feel the greatness of my true form?”

Angel obediently nodded: ”I felt it, but there’s a difference between the true form and you.”

If Laplace’s true form had come, never mind gifting a Crystal Embryo, the Crystal Eye Clan might have even directly offered the top-ranked Crystal Shell.

Of course, Angel also believed that Laplace’s true form had no interest whatsoever in the Crystal Shell of the Crystal Eye Clan.

Laplace’s true form could withstand the eroding forces of the Sea of Void Mirror, while the strongest Crystal Shell of the Crystal Eye Clan could barely resist the life-and-death Mirror Light of the Immortal Mirror Sea. In terms of defensive power, they were simply not on the same level.

If the true form appeared, it wouldn’t even glance at the so-called Crystal Shell.

”Why is it different?” Although Luigi argued, his tone weakened significantly, clearly knowing he couldn’t compare to his true form.

”Even if we take a step back and disregard the greatness of the true form, am I not strong enough? Am I not worth some under-the-table operation?”

This time, Angel remained silent, while Laplace said coldly: ”Are you sure you’re stronger than that Mist Dragon?”

After hesitating for a moment, Luigi admitted defeat: ”Perhaps not stronger than that Mist Dragon, but I’m a strong individual, aren’t I?”

Laplace let out a cold laugh, lightly touching the light screen with slender, pale hands, causing the Illusion Nodes within to flicker rapidly. Before long, four different creatures appeared on the screen.

One was a tall man, wearing a black, exquisite military uniform, polished leather boots, draped in a fur cloak, and a strip of black, gold-patterned cloth over his eyes.

The second was a massive being, resembling a small mountain, with numerous gemstone clusters all over its body.

The third was a floating sphere, somewhat similar to Duduli, except it was light blue rather than pink.

The last was a half-body girl, holding a dandelion in her hand, wearing a mask the size of a bucket.

”These four entered the Crystal Pool alongside you. Not to mention that Mist Dragon, are you sure you are stronger than them?” Laplace looked at Luigi.

Luigi initially seemed dissatisfied but grew silent upon seeing the screen’s display.

Although Luigi said nothing, Angel understood that Luigi’s combat ability likely ranked lower than these four.

Angel had never fought Luigi, but from certain details, Luigi’s strength seemed to be between that of an Official Wizard and a True Knowledge Wizard.

If neither side used their trump cards, the victory probability would likely be fifty-fifty.

Since even Luigi conceded to the four on the screen, they must indeed be stronger than he was.

Out of curiosity, Angel began observing these figures on the screen.

The man in the uniform and boots was undoubtedly of the Yingji Clan. Angel was particularly interested in the Heart Fire of the Yingji Clan, so he paid them extra attention.

However, unlike other Yingji Clan members, this man wore an eye-covering cloth.

The purpose of the eye-covering cloth, as the name implies, is to cover the eyes.

Yet Yingji Clan members are born without eyes, so the cloth should be unnecessary.

Wearing this cloth is entirely superfluous... unless he has eyes?

Regardless of whether he has eyes, this individual is certainly special, having earned Luigi’s acknowledgment, suggesting he possesses exceptional abilities.

The second entry was the rocky creature, known as the Rongshi Clan, well known as the Destroyer Clan, feared in the Mirror Domain, making their strength expected.

The third, a light-blue spherical creature, was unknown to Angel, but having experienced Duduli’s intimidating aura, it made sense if this creature belonged to that same race, explaining its power.

Angel was unfamiliar with the fourth figure.

The half-bodied girl, around 1.23 meters tall. The dandelion in her hand appeared quite ordinary and unremarkable. The bucket-like mask, on the other hand, was extraordinarily distinct.

What kind of race is this?

”She is from the royal family of Turuga City, what you could consider a ’princess’,” Laplace explained: ”Turuls have teacup-shaped heads, thus called Cupheads. The teacup-like head contains their talents, the foundation of a Turul’s strength; but due to its fragility, it is also their fatal flaw.”

”Therefore, when Turuls leave Turuga City, they add a layer of protection to their heads.”

The bucket-like mask wasn’t for hiding the face but to serve as protection.

”Cuphead... that sounds peculiar.” After hearing this feature, Angel imagined the scene and felt a strange sensation.

Laplace inquired, ”Why does it seem strange?”

Angel shook his head: ”It’s hard to say, gives a sense it isn’t a naturally occurring creation. Instead, feels more like... an artificial creature?”

Cups are everyday human objects.

If they had a Spirit, there would only be one.

Like Tree Spirit, Wood Spirit, Stone Spirit, Book Elder... these are unique entities.

If a cup also had a Spirit, there should be only one. Yet now, Cupheads seem to be an entire race with their own civilization, giving Angel a very peculiar feeling.

Laplace mused, ”Artificial creature? That’s an interesting viewpoint. I don’t know if your theory is correct, but the Turuls indeed have some strange aspects, like their origins.”

”Origins?” Angel was taken aback: ”You mean, they aren’t native to the Daylight Mirror Domain?”

Laplace shook her head: ”I didn’t mean that. When I say their origins are mysterious, it’s because the Turul people suddenly appeared in the Daylight Mirror Domain, around 2,800 to 3,000 years ago. Before that, I don’t know where they came from... Even the Turul themselves can’t say for sure.”

”It’s as if their history has been erased.”

Angel: ”Is there something peculiar about this?”

Laplace: ”Whether there’s something peculiar, it wouldn’t be up to me to decide. However, there is a common speculation among the races of the Mirror Domain that the Turul people traversed the Sea of Void Mirror to arrive in the Daylight Mirror Domain; they likely were in another Mirror Domain before.”

There are two reasons for such speculation.

First, the Turul suddenly appeared in the Daylight Mirror Domain without any historical background, which inevitably brings to mind the ’Empty-hearted People.’ The only thing that can create Empty-hearted People is the Sea of Void Mirror.

Second, the reason the Turul were able to smoothly integrate into the Daylight Mirror Domain without being rejected by the major clans is mainly because they can use aggregation energy.

If a single being can use aggregation energy, it might be an accident; but if an entire race can use aggregation energy, then they must be a race native to the Mirror Domain.

Such is the case with the Turul.

Even if their origins are unknown and their past erased, as long as they belong to a Mirror Domain race, there’s no issue.

Angel: ”Do you think they came from the Sea of Void Mirror?”

Laplace pondered for a moment: ”I don’t know, at least I’ve never seen anyone who can survive the Sea of Void Mirror and live to tell the tale unless they possess a super defensive space like Heart Space.”

”But if the Turul indeed have a defensive space to prevent erosion by the Sea of Void Mirror’s waves, then how could they forget their own history?”

While Laplace couldn’t confirm whether the Turul really came from the Sea of Void Mirror, personally, she leaned towards it being false.

”If not from the Sea of Void Mirror, could they have come from the Demonic Ghosts within the Mirror?” Angel speculated: ”Like the Singers and the Feather Forest Clan, if the Phantom truly connects to other Mirror Domains, perhaps they came from there as well?”

Laplace nodded thoughtfully: ”That’s a possibility.”

If the Turul really did originate from the Demonic Ghosts within the Mirror, it would diverge significantly from Angel’s initial guess of them being ’artificial beings.’

However, no matter where the Turul came from, it seems there is little point in pursuing it further now; it’s more a topic of conversation these days.

”Is this Turul princess formidable?” Angel pointed to the half-body girl on the screen: ”Is that dandelion her weapon?”

Laplace: ”Unlimited energy projectiles.”

Angel: ”???”

Laplace: ”This Turul princess is capable of endlessly releasing high energy-level projectiles, though whether it’s truly ’unlimited,’ no one knows. But people have seen her continuously unleash energy projectiles for days, yet her internal energy remains full.”

”Without the capability to counter her unlimited energy projectiles, she stands invincible.”

Obviously, Luigi had no way to counter the Turul princess’s unlimited energy projectiles, otherwise Laplace wouldn’t have listed her on the Light Screen.

Laplace: ”As for the dandelion, it’s an ordinary dandelion, with no special powers. Still, dandelions hold a certain symbolism for the Turul people.”

All the races of the Daylight Mirror Domain know that the Turul’s past has been erased, so why wouldn’t the Turul themselves know?

The development of civilization is step by step and has traceable processes.

And a race with a completely blank past, even if recognized by other races as a civilized race, finds itself lost.

Such is the plight of the Turul.

Pirush mostly has an inferior and petty character; whereas the Turul’s character is contemplative and self-reflective, they feel rootless and aimless, akin to dandelion seeds—floating from nowhere, only knowing they drift through the void towards an uncertain shore.

Indeed, though now established in Turuga City, all Turul share the consensus: they will inevitably leave, like dandelions, moving towards a new shore.

And this shore might be a new world or perhaps their past.

Thus, dandelions hold an exceptionally special meaning in the hearts of all Turul. Almost every Turul mentions dandelions daily.

More so, like the Turul princess, carrying dandelions every day.

The high status of dandelions in Turul hearts contrasts with other races’ perception, where dandelions are just ordinary plants. In the past, they wouldn’t pay attention, but now that the Turul have appeared, dandelions have been given new worth.

Almost the entire Mirror Domain’s dandelions are now claimed by the Turul.

There is a saying popular in the Everstanding King City: If you don’t know what to sell to the Turul, choose dandelions, and you won’t go wrong.

Dandelion plants, dandelion decorations, dandelion clothing... anything with dandelion elements is favored by the Turul.

”If you want to obtain Crystalline quickly, you could also sell dandelions to the Turul,” Laplace suggested to Angel: ”The Ancient Tooth Fairy once sold a dandelion-shaped wand for almost a sky-high price.”

”If it’s your refined dandelion wand, the Turul might go crazy over it.”

Angel initially wanted to inquire about the strong figures that put Luigi in a difficult position, but unexpectedly, he acquired useful information.

Although Angel doesn’t need Crystalline for now, if he does encounter circumstances requiring large amounts, contacting the Turul is a promising option.

Angel silently noted this Crystalline route.

He doesn’t necessarily have to personally craft dandelion wands; he could order a batch of low-level dandelion wands from alchemy apprentices and still receive ample Crystalline.

As Angel and Laplace talked, Luigi finally came back to his senses.

Comparing to before, Luigi seemed somewhat dejected, likely still dwelling on the echo of ’I am weak.’

”Speaking of which, aside from allotting crystal embryos to strong individuals, the Crystal Pool seems quite legitimate, doesn’t it?” Luigi turned to Angel: ”Actually, you don’t need to be so cautious.”

Angel shrugged: ”Caution doesn’t matter anymore, as I won’t obtain a crystal embryo if I go there. I am not a strong person.”

Luigi appeared comforted by Angel’s last words and smiled: ”You’re right. It’s impossible to get a crystal embryo by going there anyway, and being secretly observed and evaluated as a strong individual is simply dull.”

Whether Luigi’s words were self-appeasing is not detailed here, but they prompted Angel and Laplace to ponder.

”Secret observation of strong individuals.”

Angel looked at Laplace: ”Could this be the real purpose of the Crystal Pool’s setup?”
