Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3171: Chapter 3172: Tunyta

Moreover, the danger Lita is about to face is highly likely to threaten his life, and the threat comes from within the Crystal City. Otherwise, Farida wouldn’t be so eager for Lita to leave.

Glaipnir understood Farida’s intentions, which is why she chose to help Lita.

After all, Lita is Hiluda’s most beloved child.

And Glaipnir and Hiluda are dear friends.

”So, Glaipnir is now going to find Farida to clarify the truth behind this matter?” Angel comprehended.

Laplace nodded: ”You could say that. However, Glaipnir also told me that there’s a high probability Farida won’t disclose the truth to her.”

”...Huh?” Given that Glaipnir predicts Farida won’t speak, what is her reason for seeking her: ”Could it be... observation?”

”Yes, observation.” Laplace: ”Through observing Farida, Glaipnir wants to confirm whether the so-called truth is related to the secret she suspects.”

Speaking of ’secret,’ Laplace paused and turned to look at Angel: ”And the secret Glaipnir suspects is related to something you just mentioned.”

Something I mentioned? Angel pondered for a moment, hesitantly responded: ”Do you mean the Holy Corpse Crystal?”

Angel thought of the Holy Corpse Crystal because when he spoke earlier, Laplace had no reaction; until he mentioned the Holy Corpse Crystal, Laplace immediately created a barrier.

This implies that, in Laplace’s eyes, the Holy Corpse Crystal is a sensitive term within Crystal City.

Moreover, earlier when Luigi explained the Holy Corpse Crystal to Angel, he also mentioned that this item seems to harbor some unknown secrets.

Considering these details, Angel naturally associated it with this.

Laplace nodded: ”Yes, the secret Glaipnir suspects is related to the Holy Corpse Crystal. On the way here, Luigi should have told you about the Holy Corpse Crystal.”

”Indeed, we discussed it somewhat.” Angel: ”It seems the Holy Corpse Crystal is related to the forbidden areas of Crystal City and certain legacies.”

Laplace: ”These are indeed common rumors outside; however, according to Glaipnir’s understanding, the Holy Corpse Crystal holds a deeper secret. And this secret is related to a figure in the Crystal Eye Clan’s history, who is acclaimed as the greatest Prophet.”

Laplace paused: ”Regarding this deeper secret, Glaipnir hasn’t fully confirmed it yet; she needs to analyze at Farida to determine the final truth.”

”I know a part of it now, but most of it is baseless conjecture. If you want to know, I can tell you now... or wait until Glaipnir gets confirmed information, and I’ll tell you then.”

Angel thought for a moment and chose to wait.

After all, Glaipnir should be nearing Farida soon; it shouldn’t take too long.

Angel didn’t inquire further about the secret but instead asked about the intelligence on the ”greatest Prophet of the Crystal Eye Clan.”

Concerning this legendary figure, Laplace was silent for a moment before speaking softly: ”This Prophet’s name is Tunyta... I have seen him.”

”You’ve seen him? He’s... not dead yet?” Angel instinctively asked.

But just after asking, Laplace shook her head: ”He died two thousand years ago.”

Evidently, Laplace’s statement of having seen him was simply because she lived long enough to have encountered this illustrious Prophet in Crystal City’s history.

”Rather than saying I saw him, it is more accurate to say, my main body saw him.” Laplace stated lightly: ”He once came to the Sea of Void Mirror, in search of the fabled ’Void Mirror Demon’...”

The so-called ”Void Mirror Demon,” also known as ”Mirror Demon,” does not refer to Laplace’s main body, but rather is a legendary creature that was widely talked about three thousand years ago in the Daylight Mirror Domain.

It is said that within the Sea of Void Mirror lives a group of special Life forms; they are unafraid of the tides of the Sea of Void Mirror, unafraid of being washed away. They feed on memories within the Sea of Void Mirror... Their clan is named Mirror Demons.

Whether Mirror Demons exist, Laplace doesn’t know. Anyway, she has never seen them; she just considers this a fabrication.

However, for other mirror-dwelling Life forms, this type of ”ultimate Life” challenges their perceptions and satisfies their imaginations. It is like a fairy tale; everyone inwardly does not believe, yet is unwilling to deny this beautiful fantasy.

Since nobody denies the existence of Mirror Demons, naturally, there comes a group passionate about Mirror Demons.

These enthusiasts, who discuss and believe in the existence of Mirror Demons, are mostly the younglings of each clan. They consider Mirror Demons as a fairy-tale savior, a topic of discussion, and their Illusion Dream.

Among these enthusiasts, there exists a particularly fanatic faction.

They are all youths, the sunrise, the hope of everything, but also the vanguard of rebellion.

Just like humans reaching adolescence, they inevitably develop rebellious personalities, chasing daring, attention-grabbing, or satisfying inner void pursuits, even if dangerous; they pursue it regardless.

Until they hit a wall, they choose to turn back, extinguish that passionate flame, and return to the established track.

These enthusiasts are alike; in the frenzy of thoughts, they even congregate to jointly delve into the Sea of Void Mirror, chasing the image of Mirror Demons.

Of course, by today’s standards, these are all acts of courting death. But in their time, it was a necessary road in pursuit of dreams.

Amongst this crowd attempting recklessness, was a Crystal Eye Clan youth named ”Tunyta.”

Reality informed them: the outcome of recklessness is death.

Over a dozen youths ventured into the Sea of Void Mirror with dreams, only to be swept into the hollow cemetery with despair.

Only one Lucky survived, as his memories were about to be entirely washed away, encountering a drifting ”island” on the Sea of Void Mirror.

Though he lost countless memories, he was fortunate enough to climb onto the island, avoiding becoming an Empty-hearted Person completely.

This Lucky was Tunyta.

And the island he climbed onto, was Laplace’s main body.

”At that time, Tunyta’s memories were mostly lost. Perhaps due to the absence of extensive memories, in my impression, he was a bit of a silent boy.” Laplace quietly reminisces the scene of meeting Tunyta.

After climbing the ”island,” Tunyta was silent for several days, perhaps organizing thoughts or maybe overwhelmed by Laplace’s massive main body’s presence, he stayed motionless in place.

Until Laplace dispatched an Avatar to meet him, Tunyta regained some vitality.

Tunyta remained on the ”island” for about a week, during which he spent most of his time observing the Sea of Void Mirror’s surface, seemingly trying to find his washed-away ”companions.”

Of course, he ultimately found nothing. The Sea of Void Mirror’s wash can obliterate a whole person, leaving no fragments.

Given the little brats’ prowess, they would likely be washed away within a day.

Aside from observing the Sea of Void Mirror, Tunyta asked Laplace’s Avatar various questions about Sea of Void Mirror’s intelligence.

Rarely encountering someone who could communicate, Laplace didn’t hide and shared some intelligence with Tunyta.

On Tunyta’s last day, he asked the ”Mirror Demon” question: ”Does the Sea of Void Mirror really have Mirror Demons? Is Laplace the Mirror Demon?”

Laplace naturally gave two consecutive ”no” answers.

Afterwards, Tunyta did not ask any further questions, and was sent out of the Sea of Void Mirror by Laplace’s Temporal Body.

A group of youths came, one youth returned.

This incident caused a small stir in the Mirror Domain, but Laplace did not pay attention; she simply considered the encounter with Tunyta as a trivial matter.

Until many years later, Laplace learned that the taciturn youth had become the Prophet of the Crystal Eye Clan.

And many years later, Tunyta died.

This is all Laplace knew of Tunyta.

Perhaps because she had seen Tunyta in his youth, she subconsciously kept all her memories of him frozen in time, without updating them much.

She only knew Tunyta was the Prophet of the Crystal Eye Clan and was highly respected there, but that was all.

”In short, it’s as if I knew nothing about Tunyta,” Angel quietly remarked.

Laplace: ”You could say that. However, Glaipnir might know something; do you need me to ask her now?”

Although all Temporal Bodies can synchronize mentally, not all information is shared. Each Temporal Body has its personality and experiences, which are not automatically shared unless Laplace actively asks.

Just like Luigi’s love for art; if Laplace truly shared this part of his memory, she wouldn’t lack a talent show in the Sunshine Circus instance.

Angel thought for a moment and shook his head: ”Forget it, we can ask after she finishes seeing Fada.”

Their conversation then shifted away from the secrets of the Crystal City, turning towards the promotion of Log-in Devices. This topic was naturally handled by Glaipnir, as she had broader connections.

Glaipnir’s thoughts coincided with Angel’s; both planned to start the promotion from the upper echelons.

If they could get some top species or widely influential groups from the Daylight Mirror Domain to voluntarily join in exploring and pioneering the Crystal Origin of Dreams, it would definitely have a demonstrative effect.

Luigi also took this opportunity to provide intelligence on the top species in the Mirror Domain.

Many of these top species have had contacts with Glaipnir before. Now it’s just a matter of confirming whom to contact, and the early promotion can begin.

Glaipnir’s top recommendation is, naturally, the Mirror Sea Scholar, also known as the Ancient Tooth Fairy.

The Ancient Tooth Fairy’s connections could undoubtedly link the entire Daylight Mirror Domain. Once they break through them, it would be much easier to tackle other species.

On this matter, Angel could hardly have objections.

After all, Glaipnir would handle all the real networking; Angel just needed to be a ”figurehead.”

However, besides focusing on the Ancient Tooth Fairy, Angel also provided another suggestion: the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom.

The Mirror Dragon’s obsessive love for cubs could be another potential breakthrough.

...

Angel and the others continued their discussion while heading to the main station of the encircling gathering. Along the way, they passed through numerous Ring Forts.

Though all were similar ”earth building” structures, each Ring Fort differed in subtle ways.

Some were brightly lit, resembling bustling human markets; others were shrouded by countless mirrors, revealing only glimpses of shadows darting between them; some were cloaked in darkness, where amidst the lack of light, they could hear whispers and sales talk, giving Angel an eerie feeling even surpassing ghost markets.

Though the structures were the same, the different Ring Forts offered Angel many novel experiences.

Now, they have arrived at another Ring Fort.

”It’s not far from the encircling gathering now, the next one should be the main station...” Luigi was conveying a message while Angel was observing this new Ring Fort.

The architectural style needed no further mention, similar to the previous ones. However, strangely enough, there were barely any ”people” visible here.

More precisely, no people visible to the naked eye.

This Ring Fort was exceptionally quiet.

Not only were there no ”living persons,” but the surrounding environment also gave Angel a sense of desolation.

Above them was a dome resembling ice-colored glaze, with cold white light filtering through.

The air carried a chill, as if they weren’t in the Crystal City but outside on the tundra.

While Angel was puzzling over his surroundings, Laplace walked up to the railing of the Ring Fort, looking downwards.

Angel followed suit.

The Ring Fort had about twenty levels, they were currently on the upper-middle level, and through the railing, they could see the bottom of the Ring Fort was a silver-white oval mirror surface.

From a distance, it looked like a frozen lake surface.

At this moment, crystal dust kept emerging from the mirror surface, floating mid-air, continually integrating and seemingly forming some contour.

From the contour formed by the crystal dust, it seemed to be in human form.

But it was still too scattered to discern its features.

As Angel focused on the crystal dust, heavy footsteps suddenly sounded behind them.

”Who are you, and why did you come out of the store?!”

Turning around, they saw a soldier-like member of the Crystal Eye Clan approaching. He was visibly angry, his steps heavier, looking quite furious.

However, just as the soldier rushed forward to scold them, Laplace turned around, her heterochromatic eyes calmly resting on him.

Simultaneously, floating crystal dust gathered and appeared before the soldier.

Seeing this aggregation of crystal dust, the soldier’s expression immediately became solemn, his aggressive demeanor vanished.

”Sorry, I didn’t recognize you as the most distinguished guests.” The soldier respectfully bowed to them.

”Guests, there will be a small ceremony here, requiring temporary closure for a time... You might want to move to the nearby VIP room for a brief wait?”
