Chapter 3152: Chapter 3153: Evolution Logic

Is it the thrill during a battle of wits, the savage satisfaction of a counterattack, or perhaps the subtle joy of ’leaving with a flick of the sleeve, envied by all’?

To determine their specific preferences, they need to make a decision on this sheet music.

Angel listened for most of the day, and whether it was Bruno or Guy, they each made their cases and argued. Bruno supported savage satisfaction, while Guy preferred subtle joy.

Their reasons naturally revolved around Uriel’s gaze.

But in the last Chapter, especially the final two bars, when describing the themes of savage satisfaction and subtle joy, Uriel’s gaze actually stayed quite steady, making it difficult to use as conclusive evidence.

So, after arguing back and forth for half a day, they still hadn’t reached any conclusions.

Finally, they focused their attention on Angel, hoping he could make a ruling.

However, Angel didn’t feel that he was stronger than the experts in this domain, so he maintained his silence.

With no other option, Bruno proposed a new plan: ”Why don’t we watch it a few more times? Maybe we can make a decision by combining other Chapters?”

Guy: ”Start from the beginning?”

Bruno nodded: ”From the beginning.”

After a brief silence, the two reactivated the Illusion Shadow Box to appreciate it again from start to finish.

Angel didn’t comment on their decision; after all, he had given them twelve hours, and it was still early. They just needed to produce results within the allotted time.

While Guy and Bruno repeatedly watched the definitive seating performance of ”Three Chapters of Sbro,” Angel took out the Mother Tree Interlinker, preparing to chat with Greya about the Honey Badger.

However, Greya had been communicating with Camilleon these days, and to avoid interrupting, Angel decided to use God’s View to see what was happening on their side before deciding when to contact them.

...

Camilleon and Greya had already emerged from the Sea Venue, where Camilleon easily resolved the issues. Now, they had returned to Delicacies Island.

On Delicacies Island, Greya and Camilleon were engaging in a new round of discussion, and it was a bit different from before.

Greya selected various special life forms from the Wilderness of Dreams for Camilleon to analyze and evaluate, with scores given on a scale from ten being the highest to one being the lowest.

The life forms Greya chose included her proud creations, some made casually, and... the creations that Sumishe poured his heart into.

”This White Whale Dolphin, five points. Its form adheres strictly to evolutionary logic, which is a plus point. But it has designed extraordinary ice organs that can’t yet be used... that’s a minus point.”

”Grass Electric Mouse, four points. Like the White Whale Dolphin, it has designed organs that can discharge electricity, although in use, it’s merely a counterfeit of the land-based Electric Mackerel.”

”Stone Hillock Man, two points. Naming it after a human is simply an insult, just a stone conglomerate monster designed for eating, drinking, and excreting.”

”Knuckle Worm, one point. Luckily the lowest score is one, or else I’d give it zero. It only parasitizes the ecological chain without contributing anything, and when dead, it vaporizes completely. Such a thing has no need to exist; extinction is recommended.”

”Lamp Mushroom, three points...”

”Butterfly Thunderfish, one point...”

”Night Bright Gull, seven points...”

”Small Harmony Bird, six points...”

Camilleon evaluated quickly, and although the judgments were subjective, he had his own reasoning, placing high importance on ”cycles.” If a creature doesn’t even have the most basic cycles, it has absolutely no reason to exist.

Aside from that, Camilleon doesn’t particularly favor intensely ”designed” creatures.

In his own words, as a scholar of the theory of matter, he prefers natural things. With such apparent design, he’d rather engage in mechanical creatures, adding modules as he pleases.

Just like the two given a ”one”, Knuckle Worm and Butterfly Thunderfish, which violated both of his major taboos; the former exists purely for existence, and the latter is designed purely for design.

It’s worth noting that these two bizarre life forms were creations of Sumishe.

Camilleon’s highest scores were given to two birds — Night Bright Gull and Small Harmony Bird, which neither have designed any extraordinary traits, being pure birds.

In Camilleon’s view, extraordinary traits can be bonus points but must be devoid of design sense. If they are added specifically for design, it’s a deduction instead.

These ordinary birds unexpectedly touched his heart. In his words, they were just right, fitting well with nature.

If he were to create them, he couldn’t have done any better.

It shows how keenly the creator observed birds.

Of course, both Night Bright Gull and Small Harmony Bird were creations of Greya. However, notably, these birds were actually casual products by Greya; her proud creations received relatively low scores due to the design issues.

Greya was overly eager to design creatures with extraordinary traits, often reversing the priorities.

Camilleon thus commented: ”All life depends on cycles. Pulling one’s essence too high just inflates life’s potential, only crushing the cycles. This was also the Sea Venue’s problem, as well as these life forms’.”

It’s not that these fantastical creatures are bad, but if you haven’t laid a solid foundation, how can you dream of building sky palaces?

In other words, extraordinary traits can be pursued, but certain evolutionary logic must be followed.

Just like the White Whale Dolphin, if it is to possess ice abilities, it could start with a seed of extraordinary potential, altering its fundamental tendencies, and through different layers of logic, evolve through generations until they naturally evolve ice abilities. This way, even possessing extraordinary traits, they can be used as smoothly as bloodline inheritance.

Similarly, ordinary birds like the Night Bright Gull already have light-storing organs naturally; it only needs work on this organ for them to autonomously evolve into ”Light Gull,” ”Shining Gull,” ”Rainbow Gull,” thereby possessing extraordinary traits.

Greya’s designs are just too rushed.

Greya herself hadn’t realized this; perhaps her success in real creation was too effortless, with potentially unlimited Toby leading the way, backed by various marvelous Demon Plants and Magic Worms raising her expectations. After obtaining ”Membrane of Rhythm,” she became a bit hasty.

Now being pointed out by Camilleon, this is rather a good thing for Greya.

Greya’s journey is inherently a path of creation. Its difficulty rank in the Origin World is within the top ten. Although she has great talent, she lacks a solid foundation; if she continues, her path may narrow.

Though Camilleon’s words might have brought Greya back down to earth from her illusions, they opened up a new horizon for her.

Thus, in this discussion, Greya definitely benefited the most.

Greya realized this as well.

She felt both fearful of her negligence in the past and fortunate for the path ahead cleared of mist. Of course, she was very grateful to Camilleon for his guidance. However, she didn’t have other means of expressing her gratitude; the only thing she could offer was more of the life she created for Camilleon to analyze and study.

Greya even considered calling Toby over, but unfortunately, Toby had been sent off to the Pamiji Plateau for training. Given her understanding of Toby, he probably finished his tasks and went off to play by now and wouldn’t be back soon, so she had to give up.

Nevertheless, although Toby wasn’t around, after gaining consent from the Moss Baby, Camilleon was given the opportunity to study Moss Baby.

This time, when Camilleon examined Moss Baby, he fell into prolonged contemplation.

Moss Baby wasn’t created by Greya, but was a Dream Plant Fairy born from the Civilization’s Mother Tree, and Moss Baby is the first generation of Dream Plant Fairy.

Although Moss Baby’s ability is more inclined toward ”eating,” it is indeed a genuinely transcendent creature, even more powerful than most of the wizards in New City.

Moss Baby’s extraordinary ability has its own energy system, unique to the Mother Tree’s energy system.

In Camilleon’s view, Moss Baby is a genuine, untouched-by-human-hands extraordinary creature that he has never seen before.

The research value of Moss Baby lies not only in being an ”unknown” organism but also in its mysterious energy system dependent on the Mother Tree.

Previously, when Camilleon observed the life created by Greya, he could almost see through them at a glance, but the more he looked at Moss Baby, the more unfathomable it seemed.

Even as a scholar of the Universal Theory, he found it puzzling.

This is why Camilleon was silent for so long while observing Moss Baby.

Seeing Camilleon’s reaction, Greya did not disturb him, instead instructing Moss Baby to follow Camilleon’s commands and assist him in research; meanwhile, Greya moved aside.

For one, Greya didn’t want to interrupt Camilleon’s thoughts; additionally, she heard the notification from the Mother Tree Interlinker.

Greya picked up the interlinker and saw numerous inquiries on the screen, including from Ironclad Granny and Tree Spirit...

Greya glanced at the overview and slid to the side, then clicked open the ”Special Notice” message tab. The message she set as a special notice was from Angel.

”Portia... Honey Badger...”

Upon seeing the beginning of the message, Greya’s pupils suddenly shrank.

She’s been searching for information about the Barbie Restaurant staff, and most of them now have a clear direction while others have already returned to the Candy House.

The ones still adrift are only a scant few left.

Among them, the ones Greya has been most concerned about are Big Eyes and Honey Badger.

’Big Eyes’ Houston, also known as the Eyeless Man, has excellent talent and is a junior Greya values highly; she had been worried for many days without news of Houston, but now learning Houston is with the Falwen family and that they are willing to return him for money, the heavy stone in Greya’s heart finally settled.

Just waiting for the Tea Party to start, then she can go and trade with Lydia.

However, Houston’s situation has been resolved, but the entirely lost Honey Badger remains as another heavy stone in her heart.

Honey Badger’s talent in cultivation isn’t particularly outstanding, but he remains dear to Greya because of his irreplaceable oil-mixing talent.

Moreover, oil is critical to most cuisines.

Without the cooking oil prepared by Honey Badger, Greya felt that the flavor of her dishes would decrease by threefold.

She even thought that, even if she regained her physical form, without Honey Badger, her Barbie Restaurant couldn’t go on...

Not only Greya’s Barbie Restaurant, but the Butterfly Tavern’s roasting oil, which has been supplied by Honey Badger in the past, is also missing now; Felicia is desperately searching for him, even turning to the Prophet Wizard for divination regarding Honey Badger’s location, but to no avail.

This clearly indicates Honey Badger’s importance to Greya and the Candy House.

Greya even suspected for a time that Honey Badger might be dead.

Now, receiving news about Honey Badger from Angel, Greya was genuinely shocked; this was an entirely unexpected surprise!

Greya quickly looked through the remaining information.

Soon, Greya understood the situation regarding Honey Badger.

Turns out, Honey Badger was rescued by Portia and has been under her protection since. Portia is a member of the Research and Development Institute, affluent and possessing unimaginable technologies; she has anti-prophecy tools, which explains why even the Prophet Wizard couldn’t locate Honey Badger.

It turns out Honey Badger hasn’t been releasing any information because he is focused on studying the refining of essential oils while continuously extracting them for Portia.

Honey Badger isn’t unable to leave; Portia has given him freedom, yet he chooses to stay purely out of affection for Portia’s assistant and student—Shariel.

Now, Honey Badger is by Angel’s side, having been sent over by Portia along with Shariel.

It seems Portia is now entering the absolute forbidden area, and according to Angel’s speculation, she has her own agenda for sending Honey Badger here.

So...

Having read through all the information, Greya felt fortunate once more.

She could see Angel’s concern and guessed that Portia was certainly trying to connect with her, prompting this move.

Portia’s goal is simply to exchange knowledge on creation.

In the past, Greya didn’t dare to interact too much with alchemists touching the forbidden zone, fearing being led astray; but now, following Camilleon’s guidance, Greya has developed new insights.

She’s no longer afraid of being led astray, thus, exchanging with Portia is no longer a troublesome matter.

Moreover, Camilleon is still nearby, as a scholar of the Universal Theory, he must have his views on Life Alchemy, and perhaps Greya can learn some correct perspectives from him.

She isn’t shy about exchanging knowledge, nor about teaching Portia the right concepts.

In Angel’s view, perhaps Portia has an agenda, some ulterior motives warranting caution.

But in Greya’s view, Honey Badger is more important to her and the Candy House, for Portia’s rescue of Honey Badger alone merits Greya’s repayment.

If all Portia seeks is an exchange, and since Greya is no longer afraid of being led astray, then exchanging is no big deal.
