Chapter 3050: Chapter 3051: Green Arrow Guidance

Although the scene in the vision seemed somewhat bizarre, Dox was not foolish and almost immediately understood the meaning of the green cursor.

Angel was using a green arrow to indicate to her the current position of Sorceress Sharon!

Once knowing Sorceress Sharon’s position, the next steps were simple. As long as Sorceress Sharon could be forced out of concealment, victory was just around the corner.

However, just as Dox was readying himself to take action, his right eye briefly flickered with green light. Simultaneously, several rows of large, floating green text appeared out of thin air in his vision.

These rows of green text hovered over Sorceress Sharon’s head and, paired with the enlarged and thickened green arrow, created an intriguing visual contrast.

”The avatar of the Speedy is within her substitution object, find a way to provoke her into using the Substitute Technique.”

Perhaps fearing that Dox might not understand what the Substitute Technique or substitution object was, Angel considerately listed below a line of knowledge related to the Substitute Technique.

After reading this information, Dox understood what Angel meant.

Winning was not the goal; forcing Sorceress Sharon to use the Substitute Technique was what needed to be done now.

Moreover, from the various limitations of the Substitute Technique, Dox could deduce that Sorceress Sharon was nearly incapable of casting the Substitute Technique five times in succession. So, his task was not just to find a way to make Sorceress Sharon use the Substitute Technique but to make her use it as many times as possible within a limited time.

In other words, he needed to grasp the ”degree”.

As for how to grasp the ”degree”, Angel didn’t provide a clear answer, clearly leaving Dox to figure it out on his own.

”I haven’t even seen much benefit yet and they’re already squeezing me... Why do I suddenly feel like my future looks bleak,” Dox silently lamented in his heart, but quickly shook off the self-pity and began earnestly pondering his current strategy.

Time was not on Dox’s side. He had to react quickly. If he dragged it out too long and allowed Sorceress Sharon to cast a powerful space sorcery, it would be over for him.

Dox’s mind whirled rapidly. Though only a second passed in the outside world, his thoughts had cycled countless times.

However, the time was still too short, and finding a foolproof plan within such a tight timeframe was difficult. Therefore, Dox decided to proceed step by step.

Concerning Sorceress Sharon, he had a significant advantage, which was the aid Angel provided behind the scenes: the arrow pointing out the person.

He could quickly locate Sorceress Sharon’s position, but Sorceress Sharon still didn’t know she had been exposed.

Using this information gap, Dox began his first step in the plan: deception.

Dox didn’t direct his gaze toward the direction indicated by the green arrow but instead kept looking around, pretending to search for Sorceress Sharon.

But soon, Dox seemed to realize that this way of searching was unlikely to be productive, so he changed his strategy.

Dox leaped into the high air, looking down below, waved his fists, and bombarded the arena fiercely.

Though Dox was dozens of meters above the arena, each of his punches seemed to strike with thunderous force, shaking the arena incessantly.

”This is... a saturation attack,” Sorceress Sharon immediately saw through Dox’s intention.

Since he couldn’t find her, he used this indiscriminate, all-covering saturation attack to force her out.

This method might work against wizards of other disciplines.

But against her, it was undoubtedly a foolish decision.

She was a Space Wizard, and her current concealed state was certainly not just simple invisibility but an entry into a special deeper space.

For Dox to rely on such saturation strikes to force her out, each attack would have to carry energy capable of breaking through deeper space.

In other words, Dox had to go all out with each punch!

Punching with full force, if it was just punch by punch, Dox might still have time to recover. But now, he was punching so intensely that maintaining such a high output for half a minute was already quite good.

Finding her within half a minute and breaking through the outer deeper space would be incredibly challenging.

Unless Dox was extremely lucky and managed to hit her hiding space with just a few punches.

But was that possible?

Sorceress Sharon didn’t think it was likely, but perhaps fate wasn’t smiling upon her. Just as the thought occurred, she saw Dox swing a punch to within about ten meters of her location.

Although it didn’t hit her directly, the massive energy wave rippled to fully cover her location.

When these ripples encountered the deeper space, there was an obvious hesitation.

It was that slight hesitation that made Dox’s eyes light up while hovering in mid-air: ”Got you!”

With a fierce shout, Dox was surrounded by a swirling mass of blood energy. Instantly, he drew the rapier from his waist and, like a bolt of lightning, thrust toward Sorceress Sharon’s location.

Sorceress Sharon hadn’t expected Dox’s luck to be so good, that he actually found her so quickly.

Her space sorcery wasn’t yet fully constructed.

Seeing Dox charging at her like a rainbow, Sorceress Sharon had to forcibly interrupt the gathering spatial energy, leveraging the ”Low-Consumption Rapid Change” talent, transforming that energy into another spell technique.

Low-Consumption Rapid Change was a talent she inherited through a bloodline from a mentor she had killed. It was not a complete version and could only convert high-level energy into lower-level energy.

In other words, what she had gathered was a ”spell technique”, but when interrupted, using the talent to transform it could only turn it into a lower-level ”trick”.

This talent to convert a spell technique into a trick might not seem advantageous, but in real combat, it was essentially a divine skill.

Because typically, when spell casting is interrupted midway, the accumulated energy either dissipates in vain, or you suffer a spell backlash... neither result is good, especially with a spell backlash, where sometimes death is a light penalty.

But with the Low-Consumption Rapid Change talent, she could convert accumulated energy into other tricks! Although tricks aren’t as effective as spell techniques, it’s much better than letting the energy go to waste. Most importantly, it spares her from backlash.

This is why, despite loathing that mentor, she endured internal discomfort to inherit his bloodline talent.

Returning to the current situation.

After once again using Low-Consumption Rapid Change, choosing what kind of trick to use was something that slightly troubled Sorceress Sharon.

This trick ideally should help her evade Dox’s attack smoothly while also causing some special effect.

The first thing that came to her mind was the air curtain.

However, the air curtain is more effective against bare-handed attacks. But currently, Dox was disregarding any standards and using a rapier; with just the air curtain, it’s difficult to withstand the sharp sword tip.

Therefore, choosing an air curtain wasn’t suitable, and as for other tricks... she couldn’t think of anything particularly useful.

This wasn’t entirely her fault; it’s mainly because Space Series tricks account for only a small portion in public tricks. Most unique space tricks are self-created by Space Wizards and are almost exclusively inherited within their factions, making them difficult for outsiders to learn.

Nevertheless, her luck was considered good given that she still had a few adept space tricks... Look at Aex, he barely had any tricks or spell techniques, only a handful to count.

This is also the sorrow of the rare series on the Mysterious Side.

Speaking of which, since she couldn’t use the air curtain, she only had one trick to choose from.

Without hesitation, Witch Sharon used the Substitute Technique.

A giant Substitution Glyph Stone Pillar appeared out of thin air at the original spot, pierced by Dox’s sword; meanwhile, Witch Sharon’s figure was nowhere to be seen.

If it were before, Dox might be puzzled about where Witch Sharon went; but now that he understands the effect of the Substitute Technique, he is no longer puzzled.

The Substitute Technique not only replaces injury but can also consume the spatial energy inside the substitute object, disrupting the surrounding space field and entering a concealed state... which means entering deep space.

There’s no doubt that after using the Substitute Technique, Witch Sharon hid in deep space and ran.

However, she can’t go far, the entire arena is shielded by an Illusion Technique, and furthermore, the Space Gate she established is still on the arena, so she definitely won’t stray far from it.

So, just continue searching on the arena.

As for finding Witch Sharon... Dox was already too lazy to do it, leaving it to Angel.

The only thing he needs to do now is lay the groundwork for his second step.

His first step was ”deceive”; and his second step is ”perform”.

...

”Ran away again, just like a rat in the underground aqueduct, scurrying everywhere.” Dox laughed coldly, looking around: ”Why don’t you show the vigor you had against the other wizards?”

”Or is it that without a contract, you dare not fight at all?”

”Or should I propose... you play a game with me? Don’t worry, my game has no contracts, only testing who’s stronger.”

Dox’s words echoed throughout the arena.

Witch Sharon naturally heard it, but she didn’t care. She was much more familiar with trash-talking than Dox.

If she were the one in the advantageous position, she’d say the same.

More than the trash talk, what Witch Sharon cared about more was another matter: Was Dox’s prior saturation attack on her premeditated, or was he just lucky?

Initially, she thought it was luck, but after reconsidering, she found it somewhat odd.

The arena is enormous, so how did he find her in just two strikes?

Moreover, she had another suspicion, don’t forget, Dox is a Prophet Wizard...

As Witch Sharon pondered, Dox’s voice continued to ring: ”Do you think hiding in a dark corner means I can’t find you? I’m telling you, that’s useless.”

”Don’t forget, I’m a Prophet Wizard!”

Dox shouted loudly.

Fortunately, the arena was covered by Angel’s Illusion Technique, muffling the sound; otherwise, the crowd outside would probably laugh their heads off hearing Dox’s words.

”Watch my Green Arrow Divination!” Dox screamed bizarrely again, closing his eyes as energy waves began to emanate. It seemed as if he was genuinely casting some kind of Prophecy Skill.

This scene, in Witch Sharon’s view, was by no means fake.

As for what ”Green Arrow Divination” was, Witch Sharon had never heard of it, but didn’t think much of it either. There are too many schools of Prophet Wizards, each shrouded in mystery, so encountering some obscure Prophecy Skills is quite normal.

The only thing that concerned Witch Sharon was that she might have been wrong and the earlier detection was most likely a matter of luck.

Because, when Dox used a Prophecy Skill, there were noticeable fluctuations, and it took time.

Earlier, Dox had not used any Prophecy Skill, he was simply being reckless.

Thus, the last time she was found, it had nothing to do with Dox’s Prophecy Skill, and was probably mere luck.

As for this time... Witch Sharon didn’t know if Dox’s Prophecy Skill could predict her location, but she was ready to cast the Substitute Technique.

This time, Witch Sharon didn’t attempt to gather a high-level Light Air Shield because she didn’t know how long Dox’s Prophecy Skill would take. If the casting time was short, and Dox could indeed predict her location, wouldn’t she just get interrupted again, wasting a significant amount of spatial energy?

So, this time, Witch Sharon simply prepared the Substitute Technique to greet Dox.

Anyway, she had only used the Substitute Technique twice so far, not yet reaching the limit.

...

What Witch Sharon did not expect, was that from Dox’s perspective, everything had already become informationalized.

”Current speedy avatar retrieval progress: 2/6”

”Well done!”

Looking at the information in front of him, Dox felt a subtle sensation.

When the world before him became data-driven, he felt as though he had detached from the True World.

Especially, as lines of green arrows directed him, allowing him to see the silhouette with a bold, enlarged green arrow once again, the sensation of dislocation intensified.

However, after all, Dox was an Official Wizard, so he quickly regained control over his thoughts, muttering in a low voice: ”Just praise isn’t enough...”

Then, he refocused his attention on Witch Sharon.

At this time, Witch Sharon was still hiding in deep space. However, under Angel’s arrow guidance, her hiding place was fully revealed.

But, unlike before, this time Angel added a new annotation above Witch Sharon’s head:

”She’s different this time, there’s no sign of her gathering spell techniques, she seems to be observing your ’Prophecy Skill’.”

Translated, this meant: You can perform freely this time, no need to worry about time shortages.

Previously, Witch Sharon hid in the dark, gathering Space Sorcery. Although Dox didn’t know what sorcery it was, it was definitely detrimental to him, so he had to quickly locate Witch Sharon to prevent her from actually casting the sorcery.

However, this time, Angel clearly stated that there were no signs of Witch Sharon gathering sorceries, giving him plenty of time.

Armed with this information, Dox was free to ”perform” boldly.

All the harsh words, the Green Arrow Divination, were part of his act.

The purpose of the performance was to divert Witch Sharon’s focus.
