Chapter 3007: Chapter 3008: The Meaning of the Leaf

Greya’s words, Angel could understand, but he still had some doubts about the content described.

Because in Angel’s view, isn’t the Moss Baby just a ”produce what you eat” intermediate processor? Is his role really that significant?

Can’t there be other food processing methods?

Cooking, cooking, isn’t it all about processing ingredients? Pots and pans can all be tools for food processing. Does it really have to be the Moss Baby?

Faced with Angel’s doubts, Greya shook her head and said, ”It’s different. Although you can see the Moss Baby as an intermediate link in food processing, his processing method is very special. He can make ingredients purify, evolve, transform, mutate, and change in quantity...”

Among these, purification and change in quantity are not really new. Greya can also evolve ingredients.

But transformation and mutation, these are fields Greya has not touched upon, and they are talents uniquely belonging to the Moss Baby.

For example, Greya can cultivate trees that grow cream buns, which comes from Greya’s ”Creation” talent.

But after the Moss Baby eats cream buns, he can produce moss, mushrooms, and seeds of cream bun trees... And this is not creation, but a special transformation and mutation.

The Moss Baby is a third-party food processor, but he is also a supplier of raw materials.

It can be said that Greya sees a huge treasure in the Moss Baby, a flash that could overturn the concept of cuisine.

The only pity for Greya is that the Moss Baby is a Dream Plant Fairy born in the Wilderness of Dreams, a being between illusion and reality, unable to descend into the real world.

Otherwise, with the Moss Baby’s abilities, it could probably single-handedly revitalize the Candy House in the shortest time.

Angel, on the other hand, still couldn’t see the true value of the Moss Baby, but since Greya held the Moss Baby in such high regard, he acknowledged Greya’s perspective. So, he stopped questioning.

However, Angel was still somewhat worried about the Moss Baby’s future.

”The Mother Tree naturally rejects humans, and the Dream Plant Fairies, who are associated with the Mother Tree, also have an ingrained aversion to humans. Although there have been no conflicts between the two sides currently, if you take the Moss Baby into human territory, it could very well exacerbate the Dream Plant Fairies’ dislike for humans,” Angel said. ”Especially with the Tea Party about to begin, this is definitely not a good thing.”

If it happens that the Dream Plant Fairies launch an attack on the New City during the Tea Party, even if it does little harm, it would still disgrace the Barbarian Cave.

Angel wouldn’t care, but the witches of the Barbarian Cave... especially those led by Lianna, would likely be incensed. If it turns out that Greya is behind it, she wouldn’t fare well.

”The Mother Tree rejects humans? And Dream Plant Fairies dislike humans too?” Greya looked at Angel with curiosity. ”How come I’ve never heard of that?”

Angel remained silent for a moment and then replied, ”The Mother Tree actually originates from something called the ’Authority of Tree Civilization.’”

In other words, the circle born of the Mother Tree is a derivative of Tree Civilization, a special kind of civilization.

The circle where humans are located is Human Civilization.

When civilizations meet, they either become enemies or coexist, and it’s rare for them to mutually thrive.

Being enemies is due to rejection; coexistence is roughly because invasion is impossible, and thus coexistence is reluctantly achieved, which is also a form of rejection. Otherwise, it would be mutual prosperity.

Therefore, in most civilizations’ fundamental orientations, there is a genetic rejection of different civilizations. The more autonomous a civilization is, the greater this force of rejection toward other civilizations becomes.

Tree Civilization, because it is the designated civilization in the authority specified in the Wilderness of Dreams. Not to mention elsewhere, in the Wilderness of Dreams, it happens to be a highly autonomous civilization.

Thus, the Mother Tree’s rejection of humans is not against individual humans but against a different race.

The Mother Tree naturally rejects humans, just as it naturally rejects Demonic Fiends. As long as they are different races in the Wilderness of Dreams, it generally does not accept them.

As the extension of Mother Tree civilization, the Dream Plant Fairies naturally inherited this trait.

Greya didn’t expect there to be such secrets in this: ”But I heard from Moss Baby that the Dream Plant Fairies don’t seem to reject humans that much? Though those powerful Dream Plant Fairies don’t wish to come to human territories, there are quite a few Dream Plant Fairies in human territories that have developed alongside humans.”

Angel: ”That’s because before the Mother Tree fell asleep, it issued a decree to the Dream Plant Fairies, restraining themselves from disturbing humans, trying to coexist.”

Greya was confused, one moment Angel was saying the Mother Tree rejected humans, and the next moment, how did it issue a decree for the Dream Plant Fairies to live harmoniously with humans?

Angel sighed, ”Because the decree wasn’t issued by the Mother Tree, I mimicked the Mother Tree’s tone to issue it...”

Greya: ”...”

Greya, considering things from Angel’s perspective, found it quite reasonable. The Tree Civilization’s contribution to the Wilderness of Dreams is absolutely positive. Just look at the Verdant Wilds and Fertile Land, and the far-reaching Mother Tree network, and you’ll understand; Angel couldn’t possibly allow the Tree Civilization to suffer catastrophic destruction, and as a human, Angel couldn’t stand by and watch humans and Dream Plant Fairies fight until the end.

Therefore, he chose to pose as the Mother Tree to issue the decree, maintaining balance, which is completely normal.

”Although the Mother Tree’s decree has restrained the Dream Plant Fairies quite a bit, it is ultimately not an enforceable command. It might be effective for a while, but if something occurs that the Dream Plant Fairies can’t restrain themselves from doing, they won’t necessarily follow it entirely. After all, the Mother Tree’s decree itself isn’t effective and relies on self-discipline; most importantly, the Mother Tree has already fallen asleep.”

When Angel said this, he looked at Greya, ”I don’t know how much impact taking the Moss Baby away will have, but if it’s not handled properly, it could very well escalate the conflict between humans and Dream Plant Fairies.”

Greya understood the crux of the matter at this point. After pondering for a moment, she said, ”Why don’t you issue another decree?”

Angel: ”Dream Plant Fairies can sense the Mother Tree’s state. They clearly know whether the Mother Tree is asleep or not. Currently, there’s no condition to issue a decree.”

Moreover, even if there were conditions, Angel would find it hard to do, as the decree has no enforcement power, and he would have to rely on rhetoric to persuade the Dream Plant Fairies. And how can he persuade them? He can’t possibly tell them to encourage the Dream Plant Fairies to engage with humans? Those naïve second and third-generation Dream Plant Fairies might be encouraged to try interacting with humans, but the first-generation Dream Plant Fairies are the most averse to humans. They not only have wisdom but also the ability to discern.

The seedy affairs among humans, along with the numerous schemers, would only increase their aversion to humans if they were exposed to them.

Most importantly, the number of these first-generation Dream Plant Fairies reaches a staggering hundred thousand, and every one of them is incredibly powerful. Even with Sanders’ ’Energy Level Limitation’ preventing them from breaking through the apprentice bottleneck, having so many Dream Plant Fairies against New City would be disastrous.

Therefore, Angel couldn’t possibly issue a decree.

”Then what should I do?” Greya furrowed her brows, looking at Angel.

Angel shrugged, ”I don’t know. However, if the Moss Baby is only interested in food when coming to human territories, you can actually satisfy him without letting him enter the human world.”

”As for his Fairy Guard Squad tracking him, my suggestion is to have a good talk with them. Reaching a cooperation agreement is better than hiding.”

Greya: ”But how can we reach a cooperation with them?”

”Think of a way,” Angel said annoyedly. ”This is something you’ve gotten yourself into. You’d better solve it yourself. Moreover, this isn’t that hard; you can’t see clearly because you’re within the situation.”

”You’re not alone, are you? If you really can’t think of a way, why not seek help beyond the situation?”

Angel actually has a recommended candidate in mind... and that is Jon.

Although Jon might not be smarter than the Tree Spirit, Ironclad Granny, and others, asking for his help wouldn’t owe a favor to the Barbarian Cave.

However, Angel didn’t speak up, since this matter was caused by Greya herself, it should be resolved by her as well.

The issue with the Moss Baby is easy to resolve, the difficult part is the subsequent Fairy Guard Squad.

Greya pondered for a moment, then nodded at Angel: ”I understand, I will find a way to solve this matter.”

...

After discussing the Moss Baby, Angel finally revealed his purpose for being there.

Greya didn’t expect that Angel sought her out just to inquire about the situation in the Hante World.

However, after hearing Angel say, ”The manifestation abilities might inspire my alchemy,” Greya immediately understood. After all, she was one of the few who knew Angel possessed the ability of ’Mysterious Concrete Object’, and it was with this ability that she surpassed the limit of Creation Magic.

Thus, Greya was very clear on how powerful Angel’s ’Mysterious Concrete Object’ was.

Greya didn’t believe the manifestation capabilities in the Hante World could surpass Angel’s Mysterious Concrete Object, but if it was just drawing parallels, then there might be a possibility.

Since this is related to Angel’s most crucial alchemy ability, Greya also showed a serious expression, earnestly recalling what she had seen and experienced in the Hante World.

...

Angel didn’t stay longer with Greya, but left an illusionary book with her, and when she had sorted things out, she could record her experiences in it.

After bidding farewell to Greya and the reluctant Moss Baby, Angel went offline.

When he opened his eyes, Angel was still in the Buffer Zone.

Not far away, Laplace was still sitting on the sofa, eyes closed, not offline.

Angel hadn’t paid attention to Laplace before going offline, but judging from her furrowed brows in reality, it was likely she hadn’t caught a fish yet.

Angel also didn’t understand why Laplace suddenly became addicted to fishing...

He faintly recalled that Laplace’s original form was somewhat similar to a whale? Maybe it’s like a change of position, experiencing the feeling from the angler’s perspective instead of the fish’s perspective?

Angel shook his head and temporarily left the digressing question aside.

Preferences often last forever at first sight. Fishing might very well be Laplace’s destined hobby.

Moving to the sofa opposite Laplace, Angel sank heavily into it, the soft Nightmare Illusion sofa gradually relaxing his slightly stiff body.

As his body relaxed, Angel’s thoughts began to drift slowly—

”Is it really impossible for the Moss Baby to descend into reality? Though the Wilderness of Dreams is great, there’s much more in reality...”

This was the last question Greya asked before Angel went offline.

At the time, Angel didn’t answer, but in his thoughts, descending into reality was impossible. After all, the focus of the Wilderness of Dreams is ’Dream’, and dreams by nature are illusory, how could they descend into reality?

But at this moment, as Angel reconsiders this question, he wonders if his previous assumption was too arbitrary?

Indeed, whether it’s the Wilderness of Dreams or the Crystal Origin of Dreams, the emphasis is ’Dream’. Yet, it’s not merely a dream.

Moreover, even real Dream Realm creatures constructed by Dream Energy have a chance to descend into reality—though the probability is small and requires top-level Dream Sorcerers to operate, there is still a chance.

Thinking like this, it seems it’s not completely impossible.

Angel has a vague premonition that perhaps the Principal Body of the Nightmare Domain contains similar authority.

However, such authority, which directly connects with reality, is definitely one of the core authorities, not something he can handle now... and it’s very dangerous, since reality’s laws are more solid, failing to descend might even lead to being a guide for invasion.

So, better not think about it in the short term.

While he can’t bear it, it doesn’t stop Angel from speculating.

If the existence in the Wilderness of Dreams could truly descend into reality, would this be considered... a miracle?

...

After taking one last look at Laplace, seeing no sign of her waking up, Angel used the mirror of the Indestructible Heart Mirror to return to reality.

Upon returning to the quiet room of the Starlight Inn, Angel immediately sensed the faint natural aura outside the door.

Angel walked to the desk and instructed Speedy to bring inside the item emitting the natural aura at the door.

Soon, accompanied by a gentle breeze, a leaf was swept inside.

A glance and Angel knew this leaf was deliberately condensed as a ’form’, its essence was a cluster of ’intent’.

Simply put, this leaf was a magic message. The shape isn’t important, what’s important is the information within.

From the natural aura emanating from the leaf, it should be a message sent by Buru.

Unlocking this leaf and extracting the ’intent’ inside wasn’t difficult.

Just inject elemental power directly.

Angel instinctively wanted to have Speedy inject wind element into it, but after thinking, he gave up.

Instead, he softly called, ”Earl Mi.”

As the words fell, Angel’s shadow began to steam continuously, and soon, a shadow with a Blue Lantern Flower on its head emerged before Angel.

Though Angel called for Earl Mi, his final gaze did not land on Earl Mi but instead on the Blue Lantern Flower atop his head... next to the cane entwined with vines.
