Chapter 3046: Chapter 3047: Where Is It

On the arena, two swift figures were engaged in a fierce duel.

One of them was a masked person wearing a wide black cloak, presumably the mastermind behind the Paradise Land game as mentioned by Benson: the Masked Man.

The other was a middle-aged witch with a highly eccentric style.

With golden hair styled in an elaborate updo and a wide-brimmed white mesh hat trimmed with tassels, her face was painted with thick white lead powder, complemented by golden eyeshadow and lipstick. She resembled some kind of shiny white mechanical contraption. Her attire also matched her headwear and makeup, crisscrossing white and gold on the upper body, with an open collar adorned with abundant golden lace, and an unnaturally tight waist corset; below, she wore a baroque-style white and gold puffy skirt, which maintained its shape even as she moved. The resilience of the skirt’s frame was clearly immense.

In the Wizards’ Realm, her getup wasn’t considered too extravagant. Many noblewomen among mortals dressed even more extravagantly to compete for attention.

The only thing Angel couldn’t help but critique was how blindingly bright the colors were.

With pure white and pure gold, combined with the faint light from the dome and the glow she emitted when releasing energy, she was literally dazzling—blindingly so...uh, in the literal sense.

According to Dox’s introduction, this dazzling witch was the Moon Elder from the ”Tree, Sun, Moon” of the Birlos Family.

”Both of them on the arena are quite good, they’ve been exchanging blows, seems like they’re equally matched...”

This comment came from Dox, but just as he finished speaking, the Moon Elder was struck in the chest by the Masked Man and fell straight down to the arena from high above.

Dox showed no sign of realizing he’d just been proven wrong, maintaining his persona as the King of Tough Talk, and continued chattering: ”It’s alright, the Moon Elder just got careless, I believe she will make a comeback soon.”

Just as he finished speaking, the Masked Man’s figure flashed, appearing next to the Moon Elder. Her pupils shrank as she tried to summon her blood energy to defend, but the Masked Man moved too quickly, delivering a kick to her waist.

The Moon Elder was sent flying over twenty meters, eventually crashing into the dome and falling to the ground.

”Ah... it’s a pitiful sight,” Dox couldn’t help but shake his head in lamentation as he watched the Moon Elder lying on the ground: ”But it’s alright, it was just a kick, at most it only broke the outer layer of her Defense Spell, the injuries shouldn’t be too severe.”

In the next second, the Moon Elder, right in front of Dox, spewed out a large puddle of blood.

Judging by the amount of blood on the arena, it clearly wasn’t the light injury he claimed it to be.

Since Dox made no effort to conceal his comment, everyone around, including the three Official Wizards trapped in the space sealing, heard his ”commentary”.

At this point, all these people were glaring at Dox, the crows mouth.

Dox remained unfazed, saying: ”Just a slight misjudgment.”

”You call that a misjudgment?” Yaji glared angrily at Dox.

Dox glanced at Yaji: ”Why are you angry at me? You being imprisoned, and the Moon Elder getting beaten, weren’t my doing.”

Yaji: ”If you can’t say anything helpful, keep your mouth shut!”

”Sure, just lend me your leg for a while, I promise I won’t make a sound,” Dox said, eyeing the scythe leg in Yaji’s hand, which belonged to a Razor shade and was worth a lot.

Yaji’s eyes suddenly turned red with nameless anger: ”Are you provoking our Birlos Family?”

Dox snorted coldly: ”So what if I am? Do you believe, if you say one more word, I’ll disassemble all your limbs right now?”

”You!”

Yaji wanted to retort, but before he could open his mouth, the Sea Eagle Wizard interrupted: ”Yaji, now is not the time for arguing.”

After a pause, the Sea Eagle Wizard looked at Dox: ”I apologize to the Red Sword Wizard on behalf of Yaji.”

Dox: ”I don’t accept verbal apologies, if you want to apologize, do it sincerely.”

The Sea Eagle Wizard twitched an eye but ignored Dox’s statement and continued: ”I believe the Red Sword Wizard is also someone swept up in this Paradise Land game. We are all on the same boat now, and there’s no need to argue over trivial matters.”

Dox snorted: ”Who’s on the same boat with you? I’m just here to watch the show.”

The Sea Eagle Wizard frowned: ”You probably want to leave... If you want to leave, you’ll undoubtedly have to face this Masked Man.”

”If I want to leave, I’ll leave, no one can stop me,” Dox laughed coldly.

Of course, the Sea Eagle Wizard didn’t believe him, thinking Dox was just arrogant, believing he could easily handle the Masked Man... after all, Bloodline Wizards often had this flaw, overly confident and arrogant.

The same went for Yaji. Even though he had just broken through to an Official Wizard not long ago and hadn’t even fought other wizards much, he had already been brainwashed into a kind of ”invincible among peers” confidence.

The Sea Eagle Wizard admitted that Bloodline Wizards are indeed one of the strongest in their tier in combat power. But it didn’t mean they are truly invincible.

The strength of this Masked Man was unfathomable, cutting off Yaji’s leg with a single space sorcery. If he hadn’t surrendered on Yaji’s behalf, Yaji might have already been hacked to pieces by the opponent.

If Dox also made the mistake of underestimating his opponent due to arrogance, he would likely end up being beaten just the same.

And for them to leave, someone had to defeat the Masked Man.

Now that the Moon Elder had shown signs of weakness, naturally, the Sea Eagle Wizard placed his hopes on the newly arrived Dox... though he also didn’t know why Dox would appear in this Paradise Land, but since he was here, there was no time to dwell on it. Moreover, no matter how one looked at it, Dox was a powerful Bloodline Wizard, better matched against the Masked Man than the Moon Elder.

”Red Sword Wizard, please don’t be careless. This Masked Man is very strong, and his knowledge of space makes up for the drawbacks when dealing with Bloodline Wizards...” the Sea Eagle Wizard said earnestly.

However, Dox remained indifferent: ”I don’t care who he is. Stop changing the subject, let’s talk about the apology, and apologies should look sincere.”

Yaji, hearing Dox still fixating on his leg, glared at him with anger.

But Yaji didn’t dare to speak out now.

Dox’s threats were effective... he was heavily injured and trapped in the space sealing. Even if Dox couldn’t break this space seal, he had plenty of ways to kill him. If Dox acted ruthlessly, he wouldn’t be afraid, after all, he’s a Wandering Wizard, rootless and can leave anytime.

Therefore, when it came to pushing limits, Yaji dared not contend with Dox.

The Sea Eagle Wizard, after a moment of silence, said: ”Please believe we mean no harm... if the Red Sword Wizard truly has needs, as long as you defeat the Masked Man, our Birlos Family will make every effort to satisfy them. I also believe the Moon Elder would agree.”

Dox snorted: ”If you truly meant no harm, you’d give me Yaji’s leg now; not just make promises without offering benefits.”

Seeing Dox’s profit-driven demeanor, the Sea Eagle Wizard didn’t know what to say. Never mind, what needed to be said had been said anyway, and without him pushing, if Dox wants to leave, he’ll inevitably have to face the Masked Man.

With that in mind, the Sea Eagle Wizard chose silence.

After the Sea Eagle Wizard went quiet, Ulysses spoke up. Although her words weren’t directed at Dox but at Angel.

Ulysses didn’t recognize who Angel was, but she could tell that Angel was also an Official Wizard.

Compared to the reckless Dox, at least Angel seemed more rational, making him a better choice for communication than Dox.

”This wizard, we seem to have not met before, would you mind getting acquainted...” Ulysses said a lot of roundabout words, which boiled down to three meanings: asking who Angel is, informing about some methods used by the masked person, and inquiring why they appeared in Paradise Land.

Angel didn’t bother listening to Ulysses’ convoluted words. However, he did want to find someone to ask about the matter of the Speedy Avatar, and Ulysses’ approach offered a good opportunity.

”We can discuss these matters later. Before that, I have a question for this beautiful lady, may I have the honor?”

Ulysses brushed aside a strand of hair by her temple and smiled charmingly: ”Of course.”

Angel: ”Have you, by any chance, seen an invisible and colorless Wind Elemental Sprite nearby, with life fluctuations?”

Ulysses: ”...” Just this?

Angel blinked his eyes: Yes, just this.

Ulysses was silent for a moment, then shook her head: ”I don’t know. If you’re looking for a Wind Elemental Sprite, I can introduce you to the Blissful Pure Land...”

Angel shook his head: ”I’m not looking for a Wind Elemental Sprite.”

At this moment, the Sea Eagle Wizard suddenly spoke: ”I think I know something.”

Angel immediately turned his gaze to the Sea Eagle.

The Sea Eagle Wizard didn’t keep them in suspense and said straightforwardly: ”I don’t know if what I saw is a Wind Elemental Sprite, but previously, I saw traces of wind elements surrounding that masked person.”

Dox: ”Are you saying this deliberately? Trying to trick us into going on the arena?”

The Sea Eagle Wizard shook his head: ”No, I really saw wind elements surrounding it. It seemed like there were about five or six strands of breeze, like Wind Spirits.”

Speedy had a total of six strands of breeze disappear in Paradise Land, which just happened to match the number mentioned by the Sea Eagle Wizard.

So, after hearing his words, Angel was inclined to believe him internally.

”And then?” Angel glanced at the masked person still fighting with Elder Moon and then looked at the Sea Eagle Wizard: ”There’s no breeze surrounding it now, do you know where they went?”

Sea Eagle Wizard: ”That I don’t know. However, I was the first to step onto the arena, and at that time, I could still sense traces of wind elements on the masked person.”

The Sea Eagle Wizard’s words implied that the masked person had contact with the Speedy Avatar before defending the arena.

”If you’re looking for those Wind Elemental Sprites, perhaps they were collected into the masked person’s space.” The Sea Eagle Wizard offered a guess.

However, his guess was incorrect.

The so-called space of the masked person is nothing more than a storage space or Exile Space. Either way, it means they have already left the current space.

As for Speedy, it was now in Earl Mi’s shadow, and Angel could ascertain through contact with Speedy that its avatar was still nearby and had not entered a different space.

This indicates that the Speedy Avatar must still be here.

As for its exact location, combining the Sea Eagle Wizard’s words, Angel could roughly pinpoint a range: the arena.

The Speedy Avatar should be on the arena, or rather, on the masked person.

Drawn to this conclusion, Angel felt a headache... To retrieve the Speedy Avatar, it seems he really has to confront the masked person.

This arena, it seems he has to take it on?

Angel wasn’t truly afraid of fighting the masked person. What gave him a headache was that if he were to confront the masked person, he would inevitably enter the other’s contract.

This was an unfair battle from the start.

And with the binding of the contract, could he really defeat the masked person? Angel was somewhat doubtful of this point too.

Is there any way to retrieve the Speedy Avatar without getting on the arena? Angel thought hard, but couldn’t come up with a solution.

Stepping onto the arena meant entering the contract. And without stepping onto the arena, he couldn’t find the Speedy Avatar.

This meant that as long as he insisted on retrieving the Speedy Avatar, he would have to go on the arena no matter what, confront the masked person, and enter the contract.

Is there really no other way?

...

On the arena, Elder Moon and the masked person remained locked in a standoff.

Apprentices like Kaier might still think of the battle as deadlocked and difficult to decide.

But the wizards present were all perceptive.

Initially, they might have been deceived, but after such a drawn-out standoff, they had mostly realized that the masked person overwhelmingly prevails against Elder Moon.

What puzzled them was that the masked person could have won the battle long ago, but it didn’t; instead, it kept engaging in an evenly matched fight with Elder Moon. Why was that?

Was it deliberately toying with Elder Moon?

Or was the masked person using the opportunity to delay, observing Angel and Dox as potential variables?

However, regardless of the reason, it would inevitably come to an end.

The masked person might still be able to hold on, but in such a high-intensity battle, Elder Moon eventually couldn’t endure any longer.

After repeatedly being kicked at the crucial junctions where her blood energy gathered, she spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed on the ground.

At this moment, without any need for a referee to announce it, everyone understood... Elder Moon was defeated.

Fortunately, Elder Moon didn’t lose an arm or a leg like others. Unfortunately, Elder Moon fell into a coma.

After Elder Moon’s defeat, the masked person, like it did with the other three wizards before, used space sealing to lock Elder Moon up. Immediately after, the masked person waved its hand, and the space sealing was transferred to below the arena.

After doing all this, the masked person closed the dome of the arena.

Its gaze turned to Dox and Angel.

Without saying a word, the masked person’s eyes said it all.

It was issuing a challenge!
