Chapter 3004: Chapter 3005: Saintess Xixia

Cicia?

Angel froze for a second, a flicker of doubt in his heart, wondering why Ironclad Granny suddenly mentioned Cicia?

Could it be that Cicia did something in the Wilderness of Dreams?

Angel instinctively used God’s View to perceive. He found that Cicia was still in Originheart City, sitting on the top floor of the Treehouse Bar, looking through the window towards the distant square.

In the square, Flafiel’s concert was being held as scheduled. A large crowd gathered near the square, as they were all die-hard fans of Flafiel.

Cicia was not alone; Popota sat across from her.

Popota’s expression was very excited, seemingly introducing Flafiel’s situation to Cicia.

From God’s View, Angel was very sure that Popota’s introduction to Flafiel was superficial; the deeper purpose was to help Cicia integrate into Originheart City.

After all, Popota also knew that in reality, Cicia had already transformed into a box, and the box she transformed into couldn’t be too far from the Suspended Ladder, nor could it leave the Underground Aqueduct. In such circumstances, the Wilderness of Dreams was the best place for Cicia’s future life.

Angel watched for a while, then withdrew his gaze.

From the current situation, Cicia didn’t seem to be doing anything significant in the Wilderness of Dreams, nor did she have any contact with the New City... So why did Ironclad Granny suddenly mention her?

Could it be just because he mentioned Cicia last time he went online?

”Cicia, what’s up with her?” Angel hesitated for a moment, asking in a low voice.

Ironclad Granny: ”No, nothing. I just found the name familiar; I’ve heard Lady Mirror mention it before.”

”Lady Mirror mentioned Cicia?” Angel said, somewhat surprised.

When Angel met Cicia before, to display his own ’depth,’ he had nonchalantly mentioned the three great Ancestral Spirits of the Barbarian Cave.

At that time, although Cicia expressed awe towards the Ancestral Spirits, she clearly stated that she was not familiar with the three Ancestral Spirits.

Since Cicia is unfamiliar with the three Ancestral Spirits, why would Lady Mirror mention Cicia?

Ironclad Granny: ”If it’s that Cicia from the Baiyuan Clan, Lady Mirror indeed mentioned her. The Cicia you mentioned before, could it be her?”

Ironclad Granny spoke casually, as the famous Saintess Cicia had gone missing long ago. But when she looked up, she noticed Angel’s eyes were somewhat fleeting.

Seeing Angel’s expression, a serious look suddenly flashed in Ironclad Granny’s eyes.

Could it be... she guessed right?

When such a thought crossed her mind, she reverse deduced that her guess wasn’t entirely unfounded.

She remembered the relationship between Baiyuanians and Naraku City had always been good, and Saintess Cicia often appeared in Naraku City. Although Cicia disappeared before Naraku City declined, if Cicia returned to the Southern Domain, the first place she’d estimate going would be Naraku City.

Therefore, Angel is likely to encounter Cicia at the ruins of Naraku City.

Although this possibility is not normally high; but Angel’s eyes and expression seemed to indicate he really met Cicia...

Facing Ironclad Granny’s serious look, Angel hesitated for a moment, not answering directly, but instead asked, ”Is this Cicia very important?”

Though Angel didn’t answer, from his subtle inquiry, her guess was almost confirmed.

Ironclad Granny sighed lightly in her heart, and said, ”I’m not from that era, so I don’t know her well. But Lady Mirror once said that she was the most important Saintess of the Baiyuan Clan back then.”

As for why she was important, Lady Mirror didn’t elaborate. After all, that’s past, and today the Baiyuan Clan has vanished; it’s better to let such matters be buried in the river of history.

Ironclad Granny didn’t know how important Cicia was back then, but she knew how influential her sudden emergence would be now.

To make a race extinct, it’s not just about killing them all but also severing their roots. The ’root’ can be civilization or a legacy.

Even though a few Baiyuanians survived today, that doesn’t mean they can rejuvenate the Baiyuan Clan on their own. Because without the ’root,’ even if they rise again, could they truly be called the Baiyuan Clan?

But with Cicia, it’s different.

Cicia was the most vital Saintess of the Baiyuan Clan a million years ago; what she possessed was not only the legacy of civilization but also the sole authority to interpret the ’root.’

If today’s Baiyuan Clan’s remnants merge with Cicia and continue to develop, the Baiyuan Clan might become the Baiyuan Clan of old.

And this is not what some wish to see.

Ironclad Granny vaguely highlighted this: ”Dororo might be a remnant of the Baiyuan Clan. Alone, even if his identity is exposed, it won’t matter much. But if he joins Cicia, things become complicated.”

After speaking, Ironclad Granny looked at Angel with complex eyes: ”Your entanglement with the Baiyuan Clan is very deep; asking you to withdraw, I suppose you won’t agree. However, I still hope you understand that the Baiyuan Clan is the favored child of fate, that’s true; but as they became fate’s favored, they also became a target for the world. Do you think if fate has consciousness, it wouldn’t know that?”

”The Baiyuan Clan could rise again, but the closer they are to their original self, the easier they become the new target. If you want to get involved, have you thought about what role you want to play?”

Although Ironclad Granny didn’t speak directly, Angel vaguely understood what Ironclad Granny meant.

To put it simply, ”The water is deep, do not touch it.”

Moreover, this water is deeper than the water of the Gumman Kingdom, as this concerns an extinct race.

Angel was silent for a moment, then softly said, ”I can’t decide the future of the Baiyuan Clan. If Dororo is truly the last descendant of the Baiyuan Clan, let him decide the path ahead.”

”As for Cicia... I’ve met her. Her flesh has been dead for a million years, and now the greatest value of Cicia is her consciousness.”

”And the body her consciousness shapes now is in Originheart City.”

After hearing Angel’s words, Ironclad Granny was stunned for several seconds.

It took quite some time before Ironclad Granny chuckled, ”I’ve seen enough of the changes in New City. By the way, I haven’t had tea with Jon for a long time.”

”Previously, Jon mentioned in the group that he seems to be researching Gargoyles. It’s rare that two Gargoyles came to the Wilderness of Dreams; it sounds indeed worth researching. Maybe understanding them thoroughly could unlock some secrets of the dream form.”

At this point, Ironclad Granny set down her teacup and slowly stood up, leaning on her cane.

”You probably don’t have anything else, right? If there’s nothing, I’ll go ahead, to Originheart City to have tea with Jon.”

Angel knew that Ironclad Granny inviting Jon for tea was a pretext; she likely wanted to meet Cicia instead.

He thought for a moment and said, ”If Granny encounters Cicia, what will she do?”

Ironclad Granny chuckled, ”Meeting is fated; if there’s fate, we’ll simply become friends and have a cup of tea. Why, do you think I am someone who is completely unreasonable?”

Angel scratched his temple, ”No, I just...”

Ironclad Granny smiled and waved her hand, ”I harbor no malice toward Cicia. Everything I mentioned before stems just from some thoughts about reality.”

”Moreover, since you mentioned that Cicia’s physical body died ten thousand years ago, looking back, many of my thoughts seem redundant and laughable now.”

At this point, Ironclad Granny shifted the topic, expressing some regret, ”Speaking of which, Mirror Lady has a great liking for Cicia. If Mirror Lady awakens now, she would likely have a delightful chat with Cicia.”

Angel: ”Will Lady Mirror awaken before the Tea Party?”

Ironclad Granny smiled slightly, ”She likely will. Then I could introduce Cicia to Lady Mirror.”

After saying this, Ironclad Granny made a gesture suggesting she was about to leave.

Angel quickly said, ”Granny, do you need me to assist you with your journey?”

Angel considered using the Authority of the Gate of Dreams to directly transport Granny to Originheart City.

Ironclad Granny shook her head, ”No need, I’m just taking a stroll to Originheart City. Meeting is fate, and not meeting is also fate. I am more concerned about your situation there; I’m quite eager to see the Shadow Box you create.”

Angel: ”I will make it as soon as I return home.”

Ironclad Granny chuckled, ”Alright, I will wait a bit longer... call me if anything comes up.”

With those words fading, Ironclad Granny’s figure slowly headed towards the end of Sky Street, where the Airship station lay...

Once Ironclad Granny’s figure completely vanished, Angel suddenly remembered the other reason he sought Granny — besides wanting to understand the situation in Starlight, he also wanted to discuss the Hante World and talk about Red Sword. However, as the conversation unexpectedly turned to Cicia, he forgot about it.

Angel hurriedly took out the Mother Tree Interlinker to contact Ironclad Granny.

Soon, Ironclad Granny sent back a message.

”Hante World? Why are you suddenly interested in Hante World?”

Angel didn’t conceal anything and directly mentioned the matter of the ”marvelous item”: ”I always feel this Manifestation Type ability might bring me some inspiration... well, Alchemy inspiration.”

Ironclad Granny didn’t delve much into Alchemy, but she knew quite a bit about Alchemists. She was aware that many Alchemists, when faced with bottlenecks, often traveled and used the method of drawing analogies to overcome such barriers.

Thus, Alchemy inspiration isn’t actually confined to Alchemy itself.

The marvelous item Angel spoke of, though not related to Alchemy, had undoubtedly sparked his inspiration, indicating that it must have some merit.

Considering this, Ironclad Granny replied via the Interlinker, ”I have visited Hante World and do know quite a bit about it. However, my knowledge is quite old — mostly from centuries ago — and may not be useful for you now. If you want the most comprehensive and up-to-date ’Manifestation Type’ achievements, I suggest you seek out Greya.”

Seeing Greya’s name, Angel quickly realized: Yes, he could certainly ask Greya!

Why did Greya lose her physical body? Simply because she encountered a Three-Star Mind Master during her travels in Hante World.

In terms of timing, Greya undoubtedly understands the current situation in Hante World the best!

Moreover, Greya is currently also in the Wilderness of Dreams!

Thinking of this, Angel promptly sent a thank you message to Ironclad Granny, indicating he would first seek out Greya.

Ironclad Granny continued, ”As for matters concerning the Red Sword Wizard, bring him back if you wish; don’t worry about any impediments. Barbarian Cave wouldn’t encounter issues because of a wandering Wizard.”

Just like Greya, who is also at Barbarian Cave now and so comfortable she doesn’t want to leave. Though she belongs to a different organization of wizards, Barbarian Cave generously accommodates her; welcoming a Red Sword Docks Wizard is a trivial matter.

After pausing, Ironclad Granny curiously asked, ”I recall Red Sword Docks is a Pureblood Wizard focused on the bloodline side; attracting him, are you intending for him to be your thug?”

Angel: ”No, I just want to find an assistant.”

Angel’s talk of finding an assistant was more offhand. Had he spoken these words face-to-face with Ironclad Granny, he would surely be unveiled. But in the Interlinker conversation, Angel didn’t worry about that.

What Angel actually valued in Red Sword was his strong inspiration. Angel thought his inspiration, comparable to Prophecy, might provide Dororo with some insights.

Additionally, Angel confirmed through recent observation that Red Sword’s character was at least decent, hence the intention of recruiting him.

”Assistant? Speaking of assistants, Tree Spirit previously mentioned that among the newly arrived Talented Ones, several seemed to have Alchemy Talent; if you want to select assistants, you might consider them.”

The batch of Talented Ones referred to by Ironclad Granny; Angel had seen them when rescuing them in Princess Town... Angel was uncertain how Tree Spirit judged Alchemy talent within them, but at least saw no reference to Alchemy talent among their group.

However, Angel recalled that there seemed to be a Talented One among them with talent in the Illusion Series; without any mistakes, this individual would likely be assigned to Illusion Demon Island.

Angel thought about it but didn’t directly refuse, saying, ”I’ll talk more about this after I go back.”

Once he ended the conversation with Ironclad Granny, Angel switched to God’s View.

This time, entering God’s View, his first gaze was cast upon Cicia.

Cicia had already left the Treehouse Bar and arrived at the square, standing alongside Popota and silently watching Flafiel’s stage performance behind the fervent fans.

Though hearing Flafiel’s song for the first time, Cicia seemed to greatly enjoy it, and soon she was humming along.

Her expression was lively, showing no signs of time’s wear, resembling more a maiden newly venturing into the world.

Angel observed Cicia for a while, ensuring all was well, before shifting focus to Laplace.

After a glance, Angel withdrew his view.

Laplace was still fishing... with an increasingly serious expression, yet the basket remained empty.

Watching her prepared and determined stance, Angel estimated she wouldn’t be going Offline anytime soon.

Finally, Angel directed his attention towards Greya.
