Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3048: Chapter 3049: Shattered

Dox’s eyes flickered for a moment.

Although it was just a momentary change, it was still caught by Witch Sharon. Moreover, from the feedback of the Blood Curse, Witch Sharon also sensed a change in Dox’s blood qi flow.

”Oh? Did I guess right, you’re really stalling for time?” Witch Sharon’s voice fell as her gaze shifted directly to the silent Angel beside him.

Dox had been talking all along, and from the feedback of the Blood Curse, she could also perceive that Dox was not doing anything else.

So, he was definitely not stalling for himself; it was only possible that he was stalling for Angel.

However, when Witch Sharon looked at Angel, she found nothing unusual.

Angel was merely standing silently on the side, with no trace of energy fluctuations on him.

Could it be that she guessed wrong?

Just as Witch Sharon was questioning herself, Dox finally responded, but his answer was full of performative flair.

”Oh dear, I hid it so well, yet you still discovered it.” Dox exaggeratedly hung his head in frustration, his face showing obvious signs of remorse.

But soon, Dox resumed his usual demeanor, speaking in a ’let’s confess then’ tone: ”Since you found out, I’ll be straightforward.”

”I am indeed stalling for time because... the time left for you is running short.”

When Dox said the last sentence, he once again assumed that inscrutable, self-styled prophet persona. To Witch Sharon, this fit his Prophet Wizard persona; all his prior behavior was an act, and only the last sentence was his true self.

Therefore, what Witch Sharon focused on the most was the last sentence.

”The time left for me is running short?” Witch Sharon chuckled lightly, ”Are you saying you have reinforcements?”

Stalling for time could usually only mean one of two things: either it’s to do something or to wait for something.

Now, since neither Angel nor Dox was doing anything, the answer was clearly the latter. Besides, Dox also indicated the ’time is on my side’ attitude, which made it quite clear; he was indeed waiting for reinforcements.

Faced with Witch Sharon’s inquiry, Dox merely smiled in silence.

Witch Sharon just assumed Dox tacitly agreed and said calmly, ”Whether you have reinforcements and who they are doesn’t matter to me at all. If I want to leave, I will leave, and no one can stop me.”

Dox: ”I could say the same thing. If I want to leave, I’ll leave. Do you dare to stop me?”

Entering the platform equaled entering the contract set by Witch Sharon; but if Witch Sharon actively intercepts or attacks them, they can counterattack without any burden.

So, would Witch Sharon dare to make a move against them?

For now, it seemed Witch Sharon didn’t dare to.

If she obstructs any one of them, it means she would be effectively facing two Official Wizard level combat powers at once. Because one is in defensive counter mode, while the other can enter the contract and fight her directly.

Under these circumstances, it was almost impossible for Witch Sharon to defeat them, even if she had the benefit of Space Sorcery... After all, from Witch Sharon’s perspective, Angel was also a Space Wizard not inferior to her.

Because Dox knew Witch Sharon wouldn’t dare to attack, that’s why he boldly admitted he was stalling for time.

As for whether stalling was to wait for subsequent support... that’s another story.

Witch Sharon deeply looked at Dox: ”You’ve assumed I wouldn’t dare make a move against the two of you?”

Dox: ”Do you dare?”

Initially, facing Dox’s provocative counter-question, Witch Sharon was silent, but after a while, her expression changed subtly.

Suddenly, Witch Sharon began to laugh loudly, her laughter so vibrant it almost made her eyes squint into slits, ”Dare or not? Why wouldn’t I dare?”

Seeing Witch Sharon’s sudden change in expression, Dox sensed something was amiss and cast a glance at Angel.

Angel furrowed his brow slightly, also feeling something off. He looked in another direction before finally nodding slightly at Dox.

At this moment, Witch Sharon continued, ”You have reinforcements, don’t you think I also have them?”

A smile crooked Witch Sharon’s lips: ”Haven’t you heard of my companions? They are already... here.”

As Witch Sharon’s voice fell, her body suddenly began to surge with a large amount of spatial energy. Numerous black cracks, like chains, began to extend over Witch Sharon’s body.

Those extending cracks gathered on the platform behind her, forming a multidimensional black-void gate.

The hollow in the gate originally allowed a direct view of the platform behind it. However, as more and more spatial energy gathered, spatial cuts began appearing inside the gate.

This is... short-distance teleportation space sorcery!

”Now, I’ll ask you, are you coming... to stop me?” Witch Sharon looked at the earnest-faced Dox and Angel, laughing wantonly.

Previously, Dox didn’t know what sorcery Witch Sharon used, but from the subsequent conversation, it was clear that Witch Sharon’s companions had arrived. This black gate was presumably the space sorcery to summon those companions.

With Dox’s strength coupled with Angel’s space mastery, interrupting this space gate shouldn’t be difficult.

However, Witch Sharon didn’t actively attack them; if they tried to hinder it, they’d be dragged into the contract instead.

Initially, the initiative was in their hands. But things are unpredictable, and who would have thought her companions would arrive so quickly, turning them passive instead.

Whether to obstruct meant being dragged into the contract; not blocking meant facing Witch Sharon’s companions. Once Witch Sharon’s allies arrived, even without considering others, just facing that Shallow Sea Strongman would already give them a tough time, not to mention the unknown strength of other allies.

Neither choice was easy to deal with.

Dox’s expression also turned somewhat grave, turning to look at Angel without saying a word.

However, Angel seemed to understand Dox’s intent and nodded, ”Prepare to act!”

Upon hearing Angel’s signal, Dox unhesitatingly activated his internal bloodline, releasing a terrifying aura of bloodline power from his body.

The enormous pressure made the apprentices around groan in agony.

Watching the sky-high blood qi behind Dox, Witch Sharon’s eyes flashed with suspicion. Their decision to make a move was somewhat unexpected for Witch Sharon; even more so was the fact that Dox could activate such a powerful bloodline aura!

He... wasn’t he supposed to be a Prophet Wizard? How could his bloodline aura be so abundant and pure? This was not the bloodline power that seemed to come from Prophet Wizard cultivation at all.

This is no different from a Wizard of the Bloodline Faculty.

Could it be, this is a Wizard advancing in dual faculties?

While Witch Sharon was in doubt, an even more surprising situation appeared before her.

”My lord, I’m ready here!”

This was a voice that Witch Sharon hadn’t paid attention to earlier.

Witch Sharon turned around and saw that the speaker was the Apprentice who had come with Dox and Angel.

She remembered that this Apprentice, after ascending the platform, had been so intimidated by the pressure that he had to lie down. Yet now, he seemed to be moving freely and seemed to have done something...

Witch Sharon instinctively sensed the surroundings and suddenly, her pupils narrowed slightly, turning sharply to look at Angel.

”What... what have you done?”

Angel did not speak but answered her confusion with his actions.

Angel half-squatted down, extended his hand to touch the ground, and waves of energy began spreading outward from his palm, unobstructed by any other energy.

They even touched the four Wizards sealed on-site!

As the ripples spread, the spatial seals on the four Sea Eagle Wizards shattered like broken glass, directly swept away by the torrent.

When Sea Eagle Wizard, Yaji, and Ulysses fell out of the spatial seal, they were still a bit confused, not knowing what had happened.

It wasn’t until their feet touched solid ground that they realized: the spatial seal had been broken!

Moreover, it wasn’t just the seal confining them; the spatial isolation of the Earth Cavern tournament... even the spatial seal covering the entire Paradise Land showed significant cracks!

Following a crisp cracking sound, the spatial seal covering the four corners shattered with a sound!

Witch Sharon glanced back at Kaier in the distance, then looked at Angel, and she now understood everything.

Dox was indeed stalling for time, but it wasn’t for any backup; it was to buy time for Angel and Kaier.

She hadn’t noticed anything unusual with Angel because the one who set up the nodes to break the spatial seal was not Angel, but Kaier!

Kaier is also of the Space Series!

Angel simply needed to tell Kaier how to break it; he didn’t need to do anything else but quietly wait.

”How... how can you break the spatial seal?” Even though she knew how Angel did it, Witch Sharon still couldn’t believe what she saw.

She could accept Angel and the others stealthily entering Paradise Land via special spatial means, but she couldn’t believe Angel could single-handedly break this massive seal she had prepared for many days!

Angel hadn’t even directly intervened; he simply had an apprentice do it, and the seal was broken.

”Why not? We could have destroyed your seal from the start, we just didn’t bother.” Dox put on a troubled expression: ”We just didn’t expect you to be so cowardly, lacking even the courage to face a fight. So, we had no choice but to break the seal.”

Dox spoke lightly, as if it were an easy task.

But in reality, the level of difficulty in executing this was quite high; if Witch Sharon and Angel switched places, having Witch Sharon break such a large spatial seal, she likely wouldn’t be confident about breaking it in a short time.

This required a vast and profound knowledge base and deep spatial insight as a foundation.

Her knowledge came from that Legendary Space Wizard and also from the Wild God of Space who fell thousands of years ago. One could say her knowledge was more orthodox and deep than 99% of the Space Wizards in the Southern Domain currently, yet even so, it was challenging to achieve this step.

It’s imaginable how shocking Angel’s actions were to Witch Sharon.

Witch Sharon initially focused most on Dox, but now, her wary balance slowly began to tilt towards Angel.

...

With the spatial seal shattered, the various games set up by Witch Sharon in Paradise Land also stopped. Those players still trapped in the games were also rescued.

For example, Benson of the Clay Maze, who had been cautiously moving around in the maze, trying to find the only exit. But with the spatial seal’s disappearance, the maze’s walls began to collapse continuously, and before long, the entire Clay Maze disappeared. Now, presented before Benson, was no longer a labyrinth of tunnels but a flat Earth Cavern. Benson had visited this place before; it was a practice area designated for Earth Wizards. Since he had been here before, leaving was naturally not difficult.

Many were in the same situation as Benson, some even on the brink of life and death, about to fall into a death spiral. But as the spatial seal was broken and the Paradise Land game forced to an end, the seemingly unsolvable crisis dissipated.

The impact of the spatial seal’s shattering was already evident within Paradise Land; many trapped individuals regained their freedom... but this was not the greatest effect.

For the many Transcendents deceived by Witch Sharon in Paradise Land, the significant meaning of the spatial shattering was—

With the games gone, the contracts naturally dissipated as well!

And this, too, was Angel’s primary goal in breaking the contracts.

Directly confronting Witch Sharon would mean being drawn into a contract; and yet, he had undeniable reasons for confronting Witch Sharon.

Therefore, to avoid entering the contract, he made a big move, simply overturning the contract’s ”foundation.”

After doing all this, with no need to worry about the contract’s constraints, Angel and Dox exchanged a glance and simultaneously took action.

Dox transformed into a ray of red light, wrapped in dense blood energy, and directly charged toward Witch Sharon.

Meanwhile, Angel quickly ascended the platform, the glow from the Patterns on his right hand intensified, and these Patterns, like animated symbols, quickly identified the most suitable spatial coordinates on the platform, autonomously setting up Nightmare Illusion Nodes.

Undoubtedly, Angel was arranging Illusion Techniques. However, his Illusion Techniques were not solely targeting Witch Sharon but instead primarily encompassed the area near the black rift-formed Space Gate.

If Witch Sharon’s allies arrive, the setup of the Illusionary Realm could buy some time.

Of course, Angel hadn’t forgotten his main purpose.

To find and lock onto Witch Sharon’s Speedy Avatar.

And for this, Dox’s cooperation was required. Dox’s assault was a form of direct confrontation.

With Dox’s formidable strength on the Bloodline Faculty side, he would undoubtedly pose a substantial threat to Witch Sharon, compelling her to gather her full focus to counter Dox in a short time.

Only by thoroughly distracting Witch Sharon’s attention could Angel seize the opportunity to locate the Speedy Avatar.
