Chapter 2989: Chapter 2990: Association

Actually, for Angel, he didn’t care much whether the boy in the jug was a Star Servant or not. What he cared about was the mysterious objects.

It wasn’t specifically about this Wish Book, but about seeing the system of mysterious objects behind the Wish Book.

Previously, when Angel heard about mysterious objects, he didn’t feel much about them, because he hadn’t seen them, and just listening couldn’t reveal any beauty or ugliness.

But when he really laid eyes on a mysterious object, he was speechless with surprise.

The abilities recorded in the Wish Book are indeed not very powerful, but the varieties are so numerous! There are not only direct attacks, indirect attacks, control, support, but even the ability to produce potions!

And these abilities are all integrated through the Wish Book.

The Wish Book, as a mysterious object, is born from nothing, manifested. Perhaps telekinesis counts as a reliance, but at most telekinesis serves as an energy source, and if you discard telekinesis, this is simply like... imaginary alchemy!

Yes, it was the imaginary alchemy that Angel previously muttered about when applying mysterious concrete objects!

Originally, Angel was not very interested in mysterious objects, but at this moment, he was slapped in the face.

When he applies mysterious concrete objects, he can only use structural combinations to produce effects, unable to make effects born without reliance. Called ’imaginary alchemy’, it’s actually just a vision with an unknown future out of Angel’s mouth.

But the emergence of mysterious objects made Angel feel as though he saw the future of imaginary alchemy!

If mysterious concrete objects could also be integrated through manifestation type abilities, even creating a mysterious object version of mysterious concrete objects, could it make mysterious concrete objects produce some special effects from nothing?

If this assumption is true, then without a doubt, it’s the bright path of imaginary alchemy!

Of course, Angel also knows that imaginary alchemy is probably very difficult to replace real alchemy. But this kind of external ability that can add footnotes or supplementary angles to mysterious objects will definitely play a huge role when he truly approaches and interprets the mystery in the future.

Angel’s eyes sparkled, as if he saw a beautiful world beckoning to him...

No, someone really was beckoning in front of him.

”What’s wrong?” Laplace saw Angel remain silent, his pupils bright yet dazed, subconsciously waved a hand.

Angel quickly snapped out of it, his wandering mind and fervent heart instantly returning to calm.

Angel: ”Nothing... nothing. I was just contemplating the mysterious objects.”

”Contemplating mysterious objects?” Laplace casually handed the Wish Book to Angel: ”Mysterious objects, not just the Wish Book?”

Angel nodded and took the Wish Book.

Laplace twirled the hair hanging beside her, speculating: ”Did you associate mysterious objects with alchemy?”

Angel smiled: ”Sort of. I have some ideas about the system of mysterious objects, maybe they can be integrated into alchemy.”

After pausing, Angel looked at Laplace: ”Does the Ancient Tooth Fairy hold knowledge about constructing a system of mysterious objects?”

Laplace shook her head: ”I don’t know. But even if there is, I don’t think that knowledge is suitable for you.”

Angel: ”Why?”

Laplace: ”I don’t know how deep your curiosity about mysterious objects goes, nor to what extent you want to research into mysterious objects. But if you’re truly intent on gaining inspiration related to alchemy from mysterious objects, whether in Mirror Domain or Wizards’ Realm... you won’t find the answers you want.”

Angel: ”Are you suggesting... going to Hante World?”

Laplace nodded: ”Yes, only by personally experiencing the rules of Hante World, and understanding why under these rules mysterious objects can be born, can you comprehend what mysterious objects are. The knowledge found in Mirror Domain or Wizards’ Realm is merely knowledge, and it doesn’t involve the essence of another world.”

”Just like when I previously spoke to you about mysterious objects, you weren’t that interested. But once you actually saw the Wish Book, you had a new understanding. It’s the same principle.”

Angel also grasped Laplace’s meaning.

The knowledge he learned in Wizards’ Realm is certainly based on the rules of Wizards’ Realm itself, so even if he merely meditates and doesn’t practice, this knowledge will be absorbed into him.

But knowledge from other worlds is different, it’s not genuinely understood, it’s just ’you think you understand’. To truly understand, you must overcome the ’culture shock’ of knowledge.

Either you’ve accumulated enough knowledge to dissect every element of otherworldly knowledge from a commanding height.

Or you personally enter another world to see how knowledge truly appears under those conditions.

Angel does not believe he’s reached the former state. And to achieve that realm also requires experiencing various worlds and having significant experience to be able to dissect from a commanding height.

Angel cannot achieve this, so if he genuinely wants to comprehend the essence of mysterious objects, he must personally visit the land nurturing this capability.

If he wants to modify it for personal use, he needs to understand personally, and practice personally.

Hence, Laplace’s suggestion is: if Angel truly wants to delve into mysterious objects, the best method is to visit Psychic Realm and see with his own eyes.

Angel understands this, but currently, he has many matters to attend to.

Unfinished matters with Tidal World and the Seed ahead, Peach Heart Theater approaching, Xinnai Land quietly expanding near the Barbarian Cave... all these matters are emerging around the Barbarian Cave, and the affairs of Tidal World and Xinnai Land are closely related to Angel, so he can’t just leave.

Also, these are just part of the issues, many minor things need Angel’s attention as well.

The Tea Party is about to commence, the New City in the Wilderness of Dreams also needs him as a backbone, even if he may not show himself openly, matters including intelligence gathering need arrangement.

Furthermore, matters such as exploring Greya’s body in Nightmare Realm, establishing relations with Black Castle, the Research and Development Institute’s press conference, etc.

However, Angel can mostly choose to ignore these matters, since except for the Research and Development Institute’s press conference, others aren’t truly led by him.

But Angel has another very important matter, which is self-reflection.

The several things mentioned above, he can completely do while self-reflecting. That way, it won’t delay anything. But that necessitates one essential condition: he temporarily cannot leave the Wizards’ Realm.

”Temporarily cannot leave the Wizards’ Realm?” Laplace didn’t know why Angel couldn’t leave the Wizards’ Realm temporarily, but since Angel mentioned it, it implies he has a reason for staying, unnecessary to probe.

”If that’s the case, you might consider... avatars.”

Laplace means leaving the main body in Wizards’ Realm, while sending an avatar to Psychic Realm.

This isn’t unfounded from Laplace, she’s seen countless reflections in Wizards’ Realm and seen many wizards practicing with avatars.

For example, some alchemists find their aesthetics or designs inadequate, so they create avatars to study at art academies established by mortals, or even to study different styles of aesthetics in other worlds.

As long as they eventually retrieve the avatar, all the knowledge, memories, and experiences return. Then the main body can slowly absorb them over time.

After hearing this, Angel pondered for a moment: ”Avatar is indeed a good choice, but currently in the Southern Domain, the avatar technique all have some problems.”

Like the most common shadow clone technique.

A multitude of small issues: shadow energy deficiency, learning capability problems, cognitive rigidity problems.

There are quite a few major issues: shadow avatars losing control, shadow avatars betraying, or being sabotaged when retrieved, even without sabotage, the actions of the shadow avatars might cause personality issues during retrieval.

Although the clone skill has many problems, overall it is indeed a helpful tool as long as you don’t maintain the avatar for too long.

However, when crossing worlds to learn, the clone skill becomes somewhat limited.

There are, of course, techniques similar to tearing apart the spirit body to merge into an Alchemy Golem for cloning, allowing for prolonged avatar use, but tearing the spirit body leads to anomalies and makes it easy to be discovered by others, who might curse the main body.

With the current avatar techniques known in the Southern Domain, only the Black Earl’s technique has some merits.

The avatar retains a certain level of strength and has its own consciousness, thereby greatly enhancing learning ability, and harbors a mindset absolutely loyal to the main body.

However, with the Black Earl having thousands of avatars and not worrying about issues even with long-term detachment, the key factor safeguarding this is—

The Black Earl’s main body’s immense power.

Even if someone uses the Black Earl’s avatar to cast a curse, the avatar might not be able to stop it but can weaken it, and with the Black Earl’s strength, even a weakened curse is just a scratch. Even without weakening, it can’t deal with the Black Earl and might even be countered by him.

Most importantly, even if the Black Earl’s avatar dies, there’s no fear of memory loss, as the memories directly return to the main body.

Therefore, even if there are flaws with the Black Earl’s avatars, the lack of significant flaws in the main body means there’s no problem.

Angel could actually learn the secrets of the Black Earl’s avatar techniques, and the Black Earl had agreed to discuss it with Angel after leaving.

Yet, since Angel’s strength isn’t as great as the Black Earl’s, what the Black Earl doesn’t consider a flaw may be a significant defect for Angel.

Thus, in Angel’s view, it’s not quite suitable for him either.

Facing Angel’s contemplative expression, Laplace stated, ”If the external avatar techniques are unsatisfactory to you, create one that suits yourself.”

Creating a spell technique in the Wizards’ Realm is indeed a challenging subject. The more powerful the spell technique, the harder it is to create.

Whenever a new path or spell technique is born, it could even trigger anomalies. This shows the difficulty level of creating a spell technique.

Laplace spoke nonchalantly, mainly due to the differences between the Wizards’ Realm and the Mirror Domain.

The energy in the Mirror Domain is Aggregation Energy, an energy of higher activity, making it much easier to create new abilities. However, this also makes the abilities of the Mirror Domain more difficult and suppressed in worlds filled with inert energy.

The Primordial Magic of the Wizards’ Realm is inert, making creation more difficult but with less suppression when traveling to other worlds.

Laplace can easily create many abilities in the Mirror Domain, but it’s not the same in the Wizards’ Realm.

However, Angel did not refute Laplace’s words.

”Create...?” Angel squinted, the dormant inspiration like a gushing spring brought new ideas to his mind continuously.

These ideas transformed from unknown and incomprehensible to readable, chaotic images.

The dark void, a long corridor, the whistle of the train, iris flowers, a dagger...

The Void Traveler in a golden birdcage, the tentacles drilling into the forehead, Wang Wang...

Absolutely ideal thoughts, pathways beyond dimensions, and a great door flashing endless brilliance, along with the silhouette entering the door...

Angel understood the meanings of these images as they were all related to his personal experiences.

But what do they represent? Could this be the inspiration for creating an avatar?

But how to create it?

Angel closed his eyes, slowly organizing these images into a logical line, and remembered them in his mind.

Many things do not need to be understood immediately; since inspiration gives a revelation, perhaps it can indeed aid in finding the answer.

”If it’s absent, create it.” Angel murmured softly, ”This indeed seems like a feasible path.”

...

The test was almost over, and Angel planned to return to reality to test more parameters of the half-length mirror and, incidentally, refine another mirror.

After all, the currently refined half-length mirror is connected to the Heart Space, making it difficult to serve as an entrance to Rabbit Mountain.

”If you want to refine another mirror, take it easy. Frankly, an entrance to Rabbit Mountain doesn’t have to be so grandiose.” Laplace hesitated and said.

After speaking, Laplace felt her words were somewhat inappropriate and added, ”However, if you have inspiration during the refining process, don’t hold back. Just pretend I didn’t say anything.”

Angel chuckled softly, ”I understand, this time it was an accident. I promise, the next mirror will be complete within ten minutes.”

Laplace: ”So what do you plan to do with the Heart Space?”

Angel replied nonchalantly, ”You can go ahead and arrange it.”

Just as Angel finished speaking, Glaipnir stated, ”I won’t get involved; I have to negotiate with the Charles Palace about the log-in device... After all, it won’t be long before the circus starts recruiting again. I do not wish to perform again.”

Glaipnir’s reason is very legitimate, but Angel can sense that it is Glaipnir’s way of stepping back.

After all, previously regarding the possession of the Heart Space, Glaipnir was very concerned.

After a ’secret talk’ with Laplace and witnessing with Glaipnir’s own eyes how Angel reshaped the Heart Space in a short time, adding various magical functions, Glaipnir understood.

Making peace with Angel and stopping losses in time is the best choice.

Then, Glaipnir gently bowed to Angel, ”Later on, I will join Little Laplace to continue clearing out the remaining Eliminators at the Crystal Origin of Dreams.”

Having said that, Glaipnir left the Heart Space.

Only Angel and Laplace were left inside the Heart Space.

Laplace was silent for a while, ”Let me handle the Heart Space first. Until you find someone more suitable, I’ll attempt to use the Mirror Spirit avatar to navigate the Heart Space through the Sea of Void Mirror, seeking more entities.”

Angel: ”I’ll leave it to you, then.”

After a pause, Angel added, ”By the way, I intend to test the half-length mirror externally soon. There might be a possibility it could affect the Heart Space.”

Laplace: ”...?”

Angel did not elaborate on how it might affect the Heart Space, but Laplace had a sense that Angel might bring new changes to the Heart Space once again.

This change could perhaps be a surprise... or, perhaps, a shock.
