Chapter 2975: Chapter 2976: The Man in the Pot

”...What would I become if I walked this path back then? I don’t know, and there are no other experimenters, but I want to give it a try.”

”...This is my Temporal Body. She is me, and yet not me.”

”She is my alternate possibility.”

After Laplace finished speaking, she fell silent.

Angel did not press further. He realized that what Laplace spoke of was not just the Temporal Body but also her secret. Her willingness to discuss it, albeit not in detail, actually signified her trust in Angel.

Though Laplace did not elaborate much on the secret of the Temporal Body, Angel could still roughly infer some information from the existing details.

Laplace’s Temporal Body is very special.

Other Mirror Creatures condense their Temporal Bodies, representing their selves at different times, each possessing a summary of ”past experiences” related to Mirror Creatures. Such a Temporal Body is ”pre-set” and cannot cultivate autonomously; its power growth relies on the support of the main body.

Laplace’s Temporal Body is different; she chose another path.

Through unknown means, Laplace lifted the cultivation restrictions on her Temporal Body, allowing them to cultivate independently.

This also means that as her Temporal Body embarks on different cultivation paths, the future becomes uncertain. Eventually, even Laplace does not know where it will lead.

But regardless of what the future holds, the Temporal Body still represents Laplace, which is the truth behind Laplace’s ”my alternate possibility.”

To give an imperfect example: At some point in the past, two paths lay before Laplace; one to the left, the other to the right. Laplace chose the left path, and the right path would have slowly disappeared. Yet, Laplace condensed a Temporal Body and let it choose the right path.

— At different points in time, I made a choice that was entirely different from the past.

To Angel, this seemed to have a taste of the Thief of Time.

All said, such a Temporal Body probably already touches upon the domain of time? Could it be that Laplace’s main body possesses the nature of time?

If Laplace is truly a Time Series Transcendent Creature, then even if she hasn’t reached the level of Legend, her influence would be as formidable as any Legend.

While Angel mused silently, the long-silent Laplace suddenly spoke: ”Found it.”

”Ah?” Angel couldn’t immediately understand the meaning.

Laplace: ”Glaipnir has already hooked up the item matching the gemstone lid.”

At this, Laplace slightly exhaled in relief.

She was somewhat skeptical when she saw Wolftooth Di-Bone perform earlier, wondering if it could succeed. Reality proved the Tooth Fairy’s age hasn’t dulled its blade.

Wolftooth Di-Bone, with astonishing speed, found the item matching the gemstone lid at the Sea of Void Mirror below.

”They are already on their way back.” Laplace paused and said, ”Through Glaipnir’s perspective, I’ve seen the full appearance of the item matching the gemstone lid — it’s a very peculiar teapot.”

”A teapot?!” Angel stopped abruptly.

Laplace glanced at Angel in puzzlement: ”Why, are you particularly interested in teapots?”

Angel was silent for a moment and nodded: ”Not long ago, I went through an Alchemy Omen during the refinement of a mirror. The world within that omen was filled with teapots. Even the fish in the water were teapot-shaped.”

”Teapot-like fish? A teapot world? Such worlds exist?” Laplace murmured softly, having no recollection of similar worlds. The Sea of Void Mirror had never presented such a world.

Angel sighed: ”Perhaps this is merely a world evolved from Alchemy Omen, one that does not exist in reality.”

Laplace knew little about Alchemy Omens, so she couldn’t offer any evaluation.

Angel chuckled bitterly: ”In any case, when I see a teapot now, I instinctively think of that world.”

Laplace looked at the bitter-faced Angel and gently said: ”You shouldn’t worry that this teapot comes from an Alchemy Omen because although its shape is peculiar, I’ve seen similar teapots.”

In seeing the gemstone lid previously, Laplace felt a sense of familiarity but couldn’t recall immediately.

Now, through Glaipnir’s perspective, she saw the teapot matching the gemstone lid in its entirety, and those deeply buried memories slowly re-emerged.

”This teapot comes from a world full of wonderful objects.”

Wonderful objects? Angel asked in confusion: ”Are they Alchemy Tools?”

Laplace shook her head: ”No, not Alchemy Tools. The wonderful objects I’m talking about should be the abilities possessed by the people there.”

Initially hearing ”people,” Angel thought she referred to humans from the Wizards’ Realm, but as Laplace explained further, he gradually understood that the ”people” Laplace spoke of were more akin to: having a similar appearance to humans.

In the Pan-Dimensional Plane, beings with human-like, sometimes identical appearances, are actually quite common. However, outwardly identical, they are certainly different internally. Such ”humans” are generally referred to as ”humanoids” in the Wizards’ Realm.

Referring commonly to humanoids as ”humans” is unforgivable to some fundamentalists, of whom there are quite a few in the Southern Domain... Though, for Angel, it’s not something he particularly cares about.

”I don’t know the name of that world, but I know that the people there use various strange energy, and some can manifest this energy into tangible objects, which often have very wonderful functions.”

”In some memories I’ve seen, certain wonderful objects can even affect the Law... And the affected Law is not conventional, more akin to those bizarre Authorities in the Crystal Origin of Dreams.”

”For instance, I once saw a little girl under the guidance of a Mentor, condensing a card box. Later, as her strength increased, several cards appeared in the box. These cards had very peculiar abilities, summoning various Elemental Creatures, dominating spaces, altering celestial phenomena, and even there were cards that allowed entry into the Mirror World.”

From Laplace’s description alone, Angel felt a sense of familiarity, yet recalling specifics was challenging. Many worlds possess such capabilities.

Angel: ”So, this teapot is actually a wonderful object? Controlled by someone?”

Laplace hesitated briefly before shaking her head lightly: ”I don’t know. However, speaking solely about the teapot’s style, it’s unique to a nation in that world, at least commonplace there. But whether the teapot that rushed into the Sea of Void Mirror is a wonderful object, that’s uncertain.”

Pausing for a moment, Laplace added: ”Through Glaipnir’s perspective, I’ve noticed that this teapot indeed has some peculiar features.”

Angel wanted to ask what was peculiar, but knowing that Glaipnir was already on the way, he held back his inquiry.

When it’s in hand, he’ll understand what Laplace meant by ”peculiar.”

...

Minutes later, Glaipnir finally returned with Wolftooth Di-Bone.

From the moment they appeared, Wolftooth Di-Bone kept murmuring in Glaipnir’s ear, but Glaipnir ignored it.

Upon seeing Angel, Glaipnir did not hesitate and handed a light sphere to Angel.

Upon seeing the light sphere in Angel’s hands, Wolftooth Di-Bone immediately turned and looked at Angel: ”A human? How rare.”

Angel: ”...We just met earlier.”

Wolftooth Di-Bone’s eyes lit up: ”Oh, we’ve met? Then, then could you do me a favor, let me see this teapot? That old Glaipnir didn’t give me any face. Despite being the one who retrieved it, I requested throughout the journey, and he didn’t let me see it.”

Angel did not immediately respond to Wolftooth Di-Bone but looked down at the sphere of light in his hand.

Is this a teapot? How did it turn into a light sphere?

Perhaps seeing Angel’s confusion, Glaipnir whispered, ”After Wolftooth Di-Bone was fished up, we forgot it was helping, thinking it was the usual catch, and sealed it with our ability.”

”However, this kind of sealing is very weak. As long as the energy inside is released, it will automatically be unsealed.”

Angel could also see that the shell of the light sphere was very weak, but what puzzled him was: ”The internal energy... seems to be dissipating on its own?”

Angel did not actively break the seal of the light sphere, yet the energy inside the sphere continued to contract.

Even stranger, there was no energy leakage on the outside of the light sphere, as if all the energy was absorbed by something inside.

Glaipnir’s expression was somewhat odd: ”That, is the teapot inside playing tricks. Open the light sphere, and you’ll know.”

The teapot playing tricks? Can a teapot absorb external energy?

Angel thought for a moment, then reached out to break the seal on the outside of the light sphere. In an instant, part of the energy turned into light spots and flowed out.

The light spots slowly drifted away, and eventually, a peculiar-looking teapot appeared in Angel’s palm.

This was indeed not a style of teapot from the Southern Domain; the chain on the teapot lid was connected to the handle, and both the body and the lid of the teapot were made of the same metal, into which various small gemstones were inlaid.

The spout of the teapot was thin and narrow, with a curve.

The overall design was very similar to the oil lamp in the fairy tale ”Aladdin’s Lamp” that Jon had told Angel about when he was a child.

This kind of oil lamp-like teapot is rarely seen in the Southern Domain. Mainly because the internal narrow neck is really too small.

Though the design was unique, Angel felt that was all there was to it. What really caught Angel’s attention were the gemstones on the body of the teapot.

These gemstones were small, but they were all gemstones infused with Elements.

The tiny gemstones on the surface of the teapot formed a pattern similar to a Magic Pattern.

——Just similar, Angel could be very sure, this pattern was not a Magic Pattern. Because, it was really too simplistic.

Although it’s not a Magic Pattern, this pattern composed of Elemental Gems connected to form an energy circuit.

This energy circuit was the point of interest for Angel.

With Angel’s current insights, although it’s the first time he saw such a simplistic energy circuit, he quickly judged that the effect of this energy circuit was: Energy Aggregation and Transmutation.

Able to absorb external energy and transmute it into some kind of new energy.

The transmutation efficiency wasn’t too high, but this new energy after transmutation... Angel found somewhat familiar.

It’s not Magic Power, nor is it Aggregation Energy, but rather an energy similar to spiritual power.

”It looks a bit like a rough development of spiritual power.” Angel whispered to himself.

”Indeed similar to spiritual power.” Glaipnir: ”But for now, this is not important. You have only seen the outside, why not open the teapot lid and see inside, perhaps it would give you a surprise... or a shock.”

Wolftooth Di-Bone: ”Young man, if you wish to buy this teapot, you can come to the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy, for now, let me first see this teapot, be good.”

Ignoring the words of the forgetful old man, Angel directly lifted the lid of the teapot.

As the lid opened, a repetitive chanting sound came from within the teapot.

”Pikara... Isoluka... Yaniqa...”

”Pikara... Isoluka... Yaniqa...”

Inside, there was a voice, repeatedly chanting the same phrase.

Angel turned his gaze inside the teapot and, upon seeing the situation inside, his pupils slightly contracted.

Inside, there was a person!

...

Upon seeing the figure inside the teapot, the story of Aladdin’s Lamp instantly flashed in Angel’s mind.

The same ”lamp,” and similarly a ”person” inside the lamp.

It was hard for Angel not to make the connection.

However, he soon calmed down. The story of Aladdin’s Lamp was just a fairy tale, and one from Earth no less; not to mention whether Earth existed in this universe. Even on Earth, Aladdin’s Lamp was just a fictional story.

This certainly wasn’t any Aladdin’s Lamp, nor could the one inside be any genie.

And indeed, the truth was as such. When the smoke and halo dissipated, the true appearance of the figure inside was revealed.

Inside was a boy with pink hair, looking about fifteen or sixteen years old.

He was curled up at the edge of the teapot, repeatedly mumbling: ”Pikara... Isoluka... Yaniqa...”

Angel slightly sensed the interior of the teapot and could confirm that there was some space extension inside.

That is to say, the boy he currently saw was not thumb-sized. According to proportions, he was roughly the same size as a fifteen or sixteen-year-old human boy, even several times taller than Wolftooth Di-Bone, who was staring at the teapot with eager eyes.

And this pink-haired boy, as Angel’s investigation revealed, was an ordinary person of flesh and blood... or rather, an ordinary ”humanoid.”

Not human, but similar in appearance to humans, with slightly different internal structures.

Although an ordinary person, within his body accumulated a portion of energy. By comparison, it could be determined that this energy originated from the special energy transmuted from the energy circuit on the teapot’s surface.

Angel had yet to identify what this special energy was, but the fact that this pink-haired boy could absorb this energy meant... he might not be a genuinely ordinary person.

But rather, someone who had soaked in the Sea of Void Mirror for too long, thereby becoming an ordinary person.

Angel voiced his thoughts, and Glaipnir nodded: ”What you said should be correct. He was originally an Extraordinary Life but was washed into an ordinary person by the tides of the Sea of Void Mirror.”

”The time washed by the tide wasn’t long; from the remaining energy on the gemstones on the teapot surface, it’s known he soaked for only about twenty minutes or so in the Sea of Void Mirror.”

”Only soaking for twenty minutes, he was scoured into an unknowing, unfeeling Empty-hearted Person, indicating his original strength wouldn’t have been too strong. In terms of the wizard’s grading system, perhaps just a Third Level Apprentice.”

Angel didn’t concern himself too much with the pink-haired boy’s strength; he caught onto the word Glaipnir used: ”...Empty-hearted Person?”

Glaipnir nodded: ”From his current state, it can be ascertained that he is now an Empty-hearted Person, all memories have been washed away by the Sea of Void Mirror.”

Angel glanced doubtfully at the dazed pink-haired boy inside the teapot: ”If he’s an Empty-hearted Person, then what he’s muttering now is...”
