Chapter 2983: Chapter 2984: Transformation

Near the Abyssal Hollow.

A heart emitting a crimson glow slowly gathered its radiance, floating quietly in the void of darkness.

Within the heart, Glaipnir surveyed the surroundings.

”Is this the Heart Space? Indeed, experiencing it firsthand is more overwhelming than memory,” Glaipnir said with a hint of surprise. Although she had seen the heart’s interior in the memory of the entity, observing and personally experiencing are different sensations.

For instance, Laplace could show Glaipnir images but was unable to simulate the mysterious aura within them.

Laplace, with no real understanding of mystery, described it to Glaipnir in just one line: Imagine the aura of a Sweet Dream, but slightly weaker, with a slightly different nature, and a touch of sturdiness.

What does a bit of ”sturdiness” mean? What is this sturdy mysterious aura? Even though Glaipnir saw it in the memory images, she couldn’t comprehend it.

But now, being personally in the Heart Space and feeling the mysterious aura constantly emanating from the Heart Wall, she began to grasp what Laplace meant.

This mysterious aura indeed carries the flavor of ”sturdiness.” Yet, if she tried to describe it, she wouldn’t be able to capture the essence.

It’s an aura that can only be understood after experiencing it firsthand.

Unexpressible, unspeakable.

Feeling this aura, Glaipnir suddenly regretted discussing the ownership of the Heart Space with Angel earlier.

Is such Mighty Power possible for humans to refine?

If humans can indeed refine such a thing, then that person truly deserves universal respect.

Now she somewhat understood why Laplace paid special attention to Angel, even extending treatment beyond that given to the Wise Sovereign. Because it is deserved.

As Glaipnir’s thoughts flowed, her view and attitude toward Angel had undergone a radical transformation, far beyond the internal change she felt when Laplace had earlier secretly warned her.

What Angel subsequently did brought an even greater impact to Glaipnir, causing the scales within her mind to completely tilt.

The matter was the ”inspiration” Angel had previously mentioned.

”Your inspiration is related to the Heart Space?” Laplace looked at Angel with curiosity.

Earlier, when Angel mentioned going to the Abyssal Hollow, Laplace thought Angel wanted to probe the Abyssal Hollow. Instead, Angel simply sought a place less likely to be discovered as he entered the Heart Space.

Since Angel arrived at the Heart Space, surely the inspiration he mentioned is related to it?

At this point, Angel did not hide it and nodded: ”Yes, I want to...”

Angel paused briefly, then softly said under the gaze of Laplace and Glaipnir:

”...transform the Heart Space!”

Transform? At first, Laplace didn’t feel much about the transformation; she assumed Angel wanted to organize the interior of the Heart Space. But seeing Angel’s shining eyes, she hesitated.

If it’s merely about organizing the internal decor of the Heart Space, would Angel need to announce it so solemnly? Surely not; after all, this sort of ”reskinning” would be a trivial matter for Angel.

Therefore, the transformation Angel mentioned might not just be about organizing the Heart Space?

Laplace pondered for a moment and asked, ”How do you plan to transform, do you need help?”

Angel: ”Help is not needed for now, but after the transformation is complete, I might need help testing it.”

Upon hearing Angel’s words, Laplace confirmed her suspicions. Angel indeed was not merely arranging the decor.

If it was just about organizing the interior decor, why would testing be necessary? Moreover, testing that requires her assistance.

Laplace nodded, providing an affirmative response even before Angel explained the specifics of the transformation or testing: ”Sure.”

Angel smiled embarrassedly: ”Thank you... However, my transformation may not necessarily succeed, and the testing might also fail.”

Laplace: ”It doesn’t matter. As I said before, even if expectations fall short, it’s still a form of expectation.”

Expectations falling short is normal; miracles appearing are rare.

Without repeated failures, how could there be accumulation and release, how could there be the eruption of miracles?

Angel did not expect Laplace to be so supportive of him.

In fact, he himself was somewhat unsure; after all, an inspiration is an inspiration, a concept is a concept—whether it can be realized, whether the goal can be achieved, still requires action to find out.

Angel was silent for a moment, then said: ”My initial inspiration actually came from Pipi City.”

”Pipi City?” Laplace and Glaipnir exchanged a glance without understanding Angel’s meaning.

They certainly remembered encountering Pipi City along the way, yet Pipi City seemed to have no notable features aside from being somewhat ”slippery,” didn’t it?

Angel saw their confusion and didn’t resort to suspense, directly said: ”To me, it’s unfortunate that the Heart Space cannot be moved. So I hope the Heart Space can move freely like Pipi City.”

Laplace: ”...Did you forget something.”

Angel: ”What?”

Laplace: ”The Heart Space can be moved, haven’t you noticed we’ve been taking the Heart Space everywhere?”

In fact, to Laplace, the mobility of the Heart Space was even more free than that of Pipi City.

Pipi City could not shrink.

Yet the Heart Space could not only shrink but also conceal its aura and be carried along—it rivals the Witchcraft Garden!

Moreover, within the Mirror Domain, it’s even more useful than the Witchcraft Garden!

Laplace also possessed a ”Witchcraft Garden,” which was her Forest of Memories.

The Forest of Memories undoubtedly offers immense utility, yet it stays within the belly of Laplace’s main body usually, as it cannot withstand the turbulence of the Sea of Void Mirror; whereas the Heart Space can.

Moreover, when the Forest of Memories faces the Immortal Mirror Sea, it may not be destroyed immediately, but long-term impact may cause wear and tear; however, the Heart Space will not.

The most important thing is that the Forest of Memories is a completely isolated ”little world” from energy, even if placed in the Immortal Mirror Sea, it cannot absorb external Aggregation Energy; but the Heart Space can, as it not only withstands the impact of the Immortal Mirror Sea, it also has the effect of pulling Aggregation Energy, allowing creatures living within it to practice without any worries.

Additionally, the Heart Space manifests externally as a palm-sized heart. As long as there is authorization, it can move around freely.

Like Pipi City, constantly occupying the best positions to absorb Aggregation Energy, it’s not an issue.

Because of this, Laplace wondered if Angel misunderstood something.

Pipi City indeed has good mobility. But the mobility of the Heart Space is no less than that of Pipi City; even from the perspective of energy permeability, practice effects, internal area, sturdiness, ease of carriage, etc... it’s far better than Pipi City.

Angel comparing the Heart Space with Pipi City feels to Laplace like a misunderstanding or even an insult to the Heart Space.

At this moment Glaipnir also said: ”The Heart Space does indeed possess more mobility than Pipi City. Free movement is already realized, is it really necessary to learn from Pipi City?”

Seeing Laplace and Glaipnir’s doubtful gaze, Angel smiled: ”I understand what you mean, but you misunderstood. When I say free movement, I don’t mean for external people to carry the Heart Space around, but for the Heart Space to move autonomously; or for it to be controlled to move by people within the Heart Space.”

”My plan is to transform the heart into a space that can autonomously move or be shifted by mental control... just like Pipi City.”

Laplace pondered for a moment, gradually understanding Angel’s idea.

The portability of the Heart Space is indeed very strong, but to move it, it requires external assistance. Without anyone outside, it merely floats in place. Just like now, all of them are in the Heart Space, with no one outside to move it, so the Heart Space can only remain suspended in the void.

This function may have some use, but it doesn’t seem very significant.

Is Angel’s inspiration about this?

Although Laplace did not express this directly, Angel could roughly guess her thought from her questioning expression.

Angel was not annoyed and explained with a smile: ”At first glance, making the Heart Space move autonomously seems not very useful. But... if it moves freely within the Sea of Void Mirror?”

Laplace was taken aback and instinctively denied: ”That’s impossible.”

”Why impossible?” Angel retorted.

Laplace looked at Angel: ”Indeed, if the Heart Space can autonomously move within the Sea of Void Mirror, it would be very useful. It would make exploration more convenient and observation of unique reflections better.”

”But have you considered that the reason the Heart Space can remain unaffected in the Sea of Void Mirror is because of the protection of the Mysterious Aura.” Laplace: ”Though I don’t have much research on Mysterious Objects, I can guess that your attempt to modify the Heart Space for movement in the Sea of Void Mirror will compromise the unity of Mysterious Power; once compromised, even the internal sturdiness might collapse, then forget about moving, even entering the Sea of Void Mirror would be unlikely.”

”If you don’t disrupt the sturdiness of the Mysterious Aura and merely add external energy effects like moving, that still won’t work. Without the blessing of the Mysterious Power, it cannot withstand the waves of the Sea of Void Mirror.”

Overall, it’s a good idea but hard to achieve.

The only way to achieve it is by remaking, but the cost is too high and it might fail.

For Angel to have crafted a Half-step Mystic Object is already seen as a miracle by Laplace.

Laplace internally does not believe Angel can recreate another miracle with a remake.

Even if Angel can craft another Half-step Mystic Object, or a complete Mysterious Object in the future, it probably won’t be a mirror.

Glaipnir also said: ”Only mystery can allow the Heart Space to endure long in the Sea of Void Mirror. If mystery is disrupted, it might lose the ability to remain long in the Sea of Void Mirror.”

Faced with Laplace and Glaipnir’s advice, Angel smiled: ”Indeed, only mystery can withstand the waves of the Sea of Void Mirror, I agree.”

When they thought Angel accepted their advice, he added a twist.

”Therefore, I will install moving legs for the Heart Space. And these legs must have a Mysterious Position. So, even if the Heart Space moves in the Sea of Void Mirror, it won’t be affected by the waves.”

Laplace, Glaipnir: ”...???”

Angel continued: ”Moreover, I don’t just plan to put legs on the Heart Space, I also want to give it arms. Then it might autonomously salvage objects from the Sea of Void Mirror. Of course, the installed arms will also be of Mysterious Position.”

Angel elaborated on his plan, but Laplace and Glaipnir’s expressions became increasingly odd.

Glaipnir wanted to say something, but considering his relationship with Angel hadn’t fully eased, he held back.

Laplace, however, silently pondered and said: ”Are you joking?”

Angel shook his head: ”No. I’m serious.”

”Seriously?” Laplace frowned: ”You plan to use the Heart Space as an experiment?”

Although the Heart Space was crafted by Angel, he has the right to dispose of it. But thinking about such a perfect Heart Space being exhausted of potential made Laplace somewhat reluctant.

”Never mind, do as you wish... I’ll try to cooperate with you.”

Laplace eventually compromised; if Angel truly squandered the Heart Space, so be it. After all, the Heart Space is his, just considering it a dream.

Angel noticed Laplace’s thoughts and said: ”I probably won’t damage the Heart Space.”

Laplace smiled faintly, but did not respond.

Evidently, Laplace doesn’t believe what Angel said.

Even Angel himself isn’t certain he won’t damage the Heart Space... but there’s a ninety-nine percent chance: he won’t.

After all, he’s not trying to reforge the Heart Space, just add limbs, akin to a small auxiliary module or add-on. It won’t involve the Heart Space’s body, making the possibility of damaging it very slim.

But Angel couldn’t promise anything, in case there’s still a slim chance?

So he didn’t say ”I won’t damage the Heart Space,” preferring to add ”probably.”

However, Laplace clearly didn’t think Angel had the capability.

Angel didn’t mind, everything waits until the results come out.

In his view, either the transformation succeeds, or the Heart Space remains unchanged.

No matter which outcome occurs, it should not be worse than the current situation.
