Chapter 2250: Chapter 2251: The Frog and the Raccoon Cat

In the Tidal World, the locations where fire element creatures exist are very rare. The Region of Fire is the largest gathering area for fire element creatures. The vast majority of fire element creatures are born in the Region of Fire.

Because of this, when Dangross suspected there might be a fire element creature, the first reaction was, could it be from the Region of Fire?

If it truly originated from the Region of Fire, and if the creature encountered an incident outside, Dangross wanted to lend a helping hand.

However, Dangross also knew that any fire element creature capable of going out must be quite powerful. If even they encountered an accident, with Dangross’s abilities, it most certainly couldn’t offer much help, and it would require Angel to step in. Therefore, it looked at Angel with a pleading gaze.

Angel thought for a moment, then nodded: ”Alright, considering you have been behaving well lately.”

Dangross was stunned for a second, then somewhat bashfully said: ”Have I been good lately... Thank you.”

Angel patted the edge of the boat, indicating Speedy to change direction.

His words were ’for Dangross’s sake,’ but in reality, it was just something he said casually. When Dangross brought up the possibility of the fire element creature, Angel already intended to take a look.

If it was indeed a fire element creature from the Region of Fire, there was a likelihood that it was part of the troupe dispatched by Mr. Magu to distribute dramatic Shadow Boxes.

This troupe had a connection with Angel, and he didn’t wish for them to encounter any mishaps outside.

...

With Speedy at the helm, it only took half a minute to reach the vicinity of the mountains where the black smoke was located.

As they approached the black smoke, Dangross immediately said: ”I have sensed it, it is indeed the energy of flames!”

Previously, due to the distance being too far, they could only guess based on the drifting sparks and couldn’t completely confirm the presence of a fire element creature. At this moment, when they sensed it up close, they could clearly detect the flame energy.

Angel also sensed it, there was indeed flame energy within the black smoke. Moreover, the arrangement of this energy was not naturally formed, but bore traces of being manipulated.

This meant that Dangross’s guess was highly likely to be true; there might indeed be a fire element creature within the black smoke.

Angel: ”Let’s go down and have a look.”

As the Gondola descended, they got closer and closer to the source of the black smoke. At this time, Angel also paid attention to the surrounding environment.

The black smoke was coming from a valley surrounded by mountains.

The lower they descended, the more they could feel the surging Flame Power within the black smoke; however, apart from the Flame Power, Angel also discovered another type of elemental energy. Although its breath was subtle, its distribution was even wider than the Flame Power.

”I smell a foul odor.” Dangross frowned.

Lobal: ”It’s the power of water.”

Angel nodded, he also felt the Water’s Force, a power completely different from the Flame Power, intertwined within the black smoke.

Soon, they descended to the valley floor. They were at the edge of the valley, and from there, they could see where the black smoke was coming from, but nothing suspicious was noticeable. However, they could see the black smoke spreading rapidly and it wouldn’t take long before the entire valley would be shrouded.

While the black smoke obscured the naked eye, it couldn’t prevent the probing of spiritual power.

Angel extended his spiritual power tendril, and after surveying the black smoke, he saw what was inside.

He turned to Lobal and said: ”Can you blow the smoke away?”

Lobal nodded: ”I can, but since there’s elemental energy interwoven inside, it seems like a fire element creature and a water element creature are battling. If I clear the smoke now, will it cause misunderstanding?”

Lobal meant that if it intervened, it might make the battling parties inside turn their attention towards it.

It was not worried about being unable to defeat them, just unwilling to cause trouble.

”Don’t worry, the battle inside has already ended.” Angel said.

Upon hearing this, Lobal didn’t hesitate any longer, it suddenly expanded dozens of times in size, transforming into a gigantic beast like a small mountain. It took a deep breath, and amidst a clamorous roaring sound, it opened its mouth and exhaled the air it had previously inhaled.

The air transformed into countless white streams, carrying the terrifying Wind’s Force, and blew toward the valley with the endlessly rising black smoke.

In just a few seconds, after a whirlwind, the majority of the smoke in the valley was blown away into the surrounding mountains, disappearing from sight.

Only the source of the smoke continued to emit fine smoke threads, but with the constant wind blowing around it, these smoke threads were gradually dissipating.

However, although the smoke dispersed, the valley was filled with a strong wind. This wind was so intense that if an ordinary person entered, their skin would likely be torn.

For Angel, though, these winds were not harmful, and he directly stepped inside.

Half a minute later, Angel arrived at the source of the black smoke.

Originally, this should have been a grassy lakeside, but now, the grass was burned to ash, and much of the lake water had evaporated, leaving it in a mess.

The cause of this scene, however, was two little creatures.

Judging by age, they definitely couldn’t be called ”little,” but in terms of size, these two elemental creatures were much smaller than other mature elemental creatures.

One was a red frog that stood barely as tall as Angel’s thigh, lying on the Scorched Earth full of plant ash.

The other was a small cat in a mix of light and dark blue, a circle larger than the red frog, lying on its back on a rock by the lakeside.

Both the red frog and the blue cat had spiral eyes, clearly having fallen unconscious.

Judging from the scene, it appears to be a case of mutual destruction.

The red frog should be the fire element creature and was also the creator of the previous rolling black smoke, because even in its current unconscious state, black smoke continued to puff from its mouth, without anyone knowing what happened.

As for the blue cat, it was undoubtedly a water element creature. Although it wasn’t emitting smoke, water was trickling continuously from its mouth, and it didn’t seem to be in good condition either.

As Angel observed these two elemental creatures, Dangross quickly jumped off the Blood Night Shelter, interlocking its index and middle fingers, and ran over to the vicinity of the red frog to closely inspect its face, checking if it was a familiar face.

Due to the red frog being unconscious, it didn’t resist as Dangross handled its face back and forth.

After a long pause, Dangross let out a sigh of relief, jumped down from the frog’s belly, and returned to Angel, saying: ”I took a careful look, it’s not a fire element creature that I know. The flame waves on it are also very unfamiliar to me.”

Angel also recalled that the fire element creatures sent out by Mr. Magu to distribute the shadow boxes this time were almost all of the flying variety, and this frog was obviously not one of them.

Additionally, since Dangross didn’t recognize it, there was a high chance it wasn’t an elemental creature from the Region of Fire.

”Although I don’t recognize this frog, this water element creature has a very annoying scent, and I think there’s a good chance it’s from the Malaya Ice Mountain.” Dangross looked angrily at the raccoon on the lake, ”It’s unconscious now. Why don’t we just...”

Before Dangross could finish speaking, a light blue Hand of Magic grabbed Dangross up from the ground.

”It didn’t provoke you, so why are you attacking it? Besides, this isn’t the Region of Fire; it’s a nameless place where all elemental creatures can tread. Aren’t you overstepping your boundaries?” Angel gently shook Dangross with the Hand of Magic.

”It may not have provoked me, but it injured the frog. As a fellow fire element creature, I must stand up for my kin when they are bullied.” With that, Dangross struggled to break free from the restraint of the Hand of Magic, but the Hand held it securely and was immune to fire, rendering Dangross’s efforts completely futile.

Angel said: ”That water element creature might not be from the Malaya Ice Mountain. If you mistakenly kill it, are you trying to invite new enmity to the Region of Fire?”

”I’m not.” Hearing this, Dangross’s eyes flickered. It felt that Angel seemed to have a point. So, although it continued to struggle, its movements were much smaller than before.

”Alright, be good.” Angel patted Dangross’s hand, speaking in a gentle tone.

Perhaps the soft tone calmed Dangross’s restless heart, and it gradually stopped struggling, quietly resting on the Hand of Magic.

Seeing Dangross had calmed down, Angel didn’t bother with it anymore and instead summoned two more Hands of Magic, bringing both the raccoon and the frog to him.

Angel said to Dangross: ”I’ll check the condition of this raccoon, and you go check on this frog to see how it’s injured.”

Faced with the life and death of a kin, Dangross no longer felt awkward and jumped onto the frog’s belly, extending its index finger to touch the frog’s mouth, sensing the situation inside the frog.

Angel also approached the raccoon, channeling spiritual power into its body to examine its condition.

Not long into the examination, Angel heard Dangross let out an ”Eh?”

”This frog’s belly is full of gemstones!”

Angel turned his head and saw Dangross continuously pulling out various sparkling gemstones from the frog’s belly. Some of these gemstones clearly had elemental properties and emitted a faint glow, appearing dazzling under the sunshine.

”There are even water element gemstones in here? Elemental creatures, even if they swallow gemstones, shouldn’t swallow non-aligned gemstones.” Angel pondered for a moment: ”Looks like this fellow has a hobby of collecting gemstones? This behavior is very familiar, just like the hobby of dragons in stories?”

Angel shook his head, not thinking much of it, and continued to examine the raccoon’s condition.

However, at this moment, Dangross exclaimed once again: ”I think I know what this frog is now!”

Angel turned around: ”What, now you recognize it?”

Dangross shook its head: ”I still don’t recognize it, but I know its category, it’s a Traveling Frog!”

A Traveling Frog? Dangross’s words reminded Angel of a small Flame Frog he once saw in the Region of Fire. At that time, Dangross mentioned that Flame Frogs would become Traveling Frogs when they grew up, spending their lives on the road and bringing back many bright... dazzling gemstones from the outside.

This fire-red frog appeared in a nameless place, and with a belly full of various gemstones, it indeed had the traits of a Traveling Frog.

”Wonderful, it’s actually a Traveling Frog. If I save it, when it travels outside, it might bring back all kinds of gemstones for me.” Dangross’s eyes lit up, more intent on saving the fire-red frog.

But Angel had no time for Dangross’s flights of fancy, as he had already sensed the elemental core inside the raccoon.

Located inside the raccoon’s tail was a crystal that resembled a droplet of water.

Currently, the surface of this water droplet crystal was covered with cracks, and as time went on, more and more cracks appeared...

Five minutes later, Dangross dejectedly lifted its head: ”Mr. Pat, the elemental core inside this Traveling Frog, it, it...”

Angel: ”Broken?”

”Not broken, but it has so many cracks that it’s almost no different from being broken.” Dangross lowered its head sadly: ”This isn’t the Region of Fire; there isn’t a suitable environment or flame creatures like Mr. Magu here to heal it at all.”

In other words, this Traveling Frog was essentially unsalvageable, and Dangross’s dream of effortlessly acquiring gemstones was also shattered.

”This raccoon, its elemental core, like the Traveling Frog’s, has also developed cracks.” Angel then described the raccoon’s condition: ”It seems their battle was intense, ultimately leading to mutual destruction.”

Hearing that the raccoon’s elemental core also developed cracks, Dangross was initially happy, but was then downcast again upon remembering the Traveling Frog’s elemental core: ”So what should we do now? Why don’t I dig a pit here as a grave?”

Angel: ”We haven’t reached that point; there is still hope for their restoration.”

”They can still be restored?”

In Dangross’s puzzled eyes, Angel squatted down and, among the pile of gemstones from the Traveling Frog, picked out a few reddish Flame Gemstones and several bluish Water Gemstones.

Angel: ”With these.”

”Though these gemstones contain elemental power, they’re not pure, and not potent enough to restore the Traveling Frog.” Having collected gemstones before, Dangross naturally knew their quality.

”Then you’re using them wrong.” Angel winked at Dangross: ”Watch me.”

As Angel spoke, he retrieved two pieces of Transparent Magic Glaze from his bracelet, which he swiftly refined into two transparent Glazed Boxes with a touch of fire.

Then, Angel took out the engraving pen and Blood Ink, quickly drawing the corresponding Magic Patterns on the Glazed Boxes.

On one side was Pure Water, and on the other was Burn.

Both of these Magic Patterns could generate dense elemental energy within the Glazed Box, although the corresponding energy sources were required as consumables.

And the Elemental Gems Angel had brought out could be used as energy sources.

These Magic Patterns weren’t difficult, and since they were drawn in a relatively spacious area, precision wasn’t a concern. It only took half an hour to complete the patterns.

After finishing the patterns, Angel embedded several gemstones into each Glazed Box.

As energy currents began to form within the Glazed Boxes, the task was completed.
