Chapter 2226: Chapter 2227: Arrival at Wind Island

Unlike the Illusion Demon Island, which is a floating island built from cloud soil, the Wind Island is essentially a piece of land that has been split off and lifted onto the clouds by a type of wind with incredibly high yet extraordinarily stable energy level.

The stability of this peculiar wind is beyond imagination. Walking on the lush green Wind Island, one hardly feels that the island has been blown into the sky; the sensation is almost indistinguishable from being on solid ground.

Moreover, the location of Wind Island is extremely advantageous. Although it is surrounded by thick cumulus clouds that spiral upward like cotton, the clouds directly above it are so thin that a casual breeze can disperse them. That means, as long as the wind creatures living here wish, every day could be a sunny day without any problem.

The more Angel understands about the situation on Wind Island, the more he feels it’s quite impressive. The expressions of curiosity and friendliness shown by the surrounding wind creatures to them suggest that such an excellent environment is very suitable for establishing a branch station.

Of course, it would be even better if there were fewer mischievous wind elementals.

With this thought, Angel pulled off a little green-skinned puppy from his waist.

This little puppy was the first wind elemental to rush over when the gondola landed. It seemed very curious about the star-and-moon pattern on the wizard robe, biting one of the suns and refusing to let go. Angel finally managed to pull it away, but the rascal turned into a gust of wind and floated away through his fingers, then reformed on the other side and charged over again.

This time, however, before the little green-skinned puppy could pounce on the clothes, it was directly pressed onto the grass by an invisible gravity meridian mid-air.

The puppy tried to dissipate into wind again, but under the immense gravity restraint, it couldn’t move at all. It could only whimper, looking pitifully at Kamil standing on the other side.

Kamil coughed and stepped forward, ”Mr. Pat, actually it did not intend to, it...”

Pausing for a moment, Kamil awkwardly added, ”It might have been instigated.”

After speaking, Kamil turned his gaze to a certain direction and sternly shouted, ”Cubic, get over here!”

However, Kamil’s angry shout received no response. Angel followed his gaze and saw, behind the group of wind creatures watching the gondola from afar, a small black shadow seemed to be startled by being discovered, and turned and fled without looking back.

Watching the shadow flee quickly, Kamil felt a surge of anger. If Angel weren’t there, he would have definitely gone over to teach that rascal a lesson.

Kamil took a deep breath, suppressing his rising anger, and with a calm voice, said, ”That is a little elf I adopted, named Cubic. Perhaps due to my lack of discipline, its character is somewhat unruly and loves to instigate others to make trouble. Here, I apologize on its behalf.”

Seeing Kamil bow deeply, what could Angel say... He could only sigh inwardly and put on a disinterested face: ”It’s nothing, after all, they’re just kids, being mischievous is their nature.”

”However, being too mischievous is not good either. If it were another wizard, it might have required it to sign a complete Ding Yuan Mo Ke pact to settle the matter.” Angel mentioned this while thinking to himself: After all, not every wizard is as easygoing as he is.

Angel said this with a smile, but Kamil shivered for some reason, a chill seemed to well up from within.

”It’s my teaching at fault, I will bring Cubic to apologize to you later.” Kamil said very cautiously.

Angel just waved it off, ”No need, it’s not a big matter.”

Kamil lowered his head as a sign of thanks, then took a deep look at the little green-skinned puppy still pressed firmly on the ground.

Angel immediately understood, signaled Toby with a look, and the latter grumbled a couple of times and retracted the gravity meridian from the little green-skinned puppy.

The puppy, freed at last, now understood that Angel was not someone to mess with, whimpered in grievance, tucked its tail between its legs, and scurried away.

This little episode was quickly set aside by Angel because at that moment, the clouds surrounding Wind Island suddenly began to churn, and one by one, shadows appeared behind the clouds like towering mountains.

All wind creatures on Wind Island at this moment focused their gazes on the clouds outside. The ignorant ones were curious, while those with inside information looked eagerly and excitedly into the distance.

As the turbulent churning of the clouds outside grew more intense, Kamil standing beside Angel said, ”My avatar has arrived, so please excuse me.”

Once he finished speaking, the faint green shadow disappeared without a trace.

Angel glanced at where Kamil had disappeared but didn’t say anything. The fact that Magu could create an avatar means Kamil creating one seems quite normal too. However, while Magu’s avatar remained part of its massive body and countless tentacles, fundamentally never leaving its true body, Kamil’s was different. It seemed like it truly split into two distinct entities: one arrived with Angel on Wind Island earlier, and the other stayed outside the misty battlefield to guide the gentle wind Urano, now returning with a grand parade to Wind Island.

This peculiar avatar might be due to Kamil’s talent? Or perhaps he misunderstood altogether, and Kamil and Magu were essentially the same, both having countless tentacles, only the invisibility of wind gave the impression of two separate avatars?

If it’s the latter, Angel began to develop some interest in Kamil’s true body.

After several minutes of the outer clouds’ rolling movement, the gentle wind Urano and Kamil, leading the captive Storm Ridge group, traversed through the cumulus clouds and appeared above Wind Island.

The moment they arrived, Wind Island burst into elation.

Many of the wind creatures were unaware of what happened on the battlefield outside, but they knew very well that they were summoned back to deal with the intruders from Storm Ridge. Now, with the invaders surrendered, it meant that this unwarranted war had ended!

They all cheered in unison, chanting the name of His Highness Gentle Wind!

The wind carried their voices throughout the entire Wind Island, as if the power of this collected voice came from the land beneath them.

Some of the ignorant perhaps thought His Highness Gentle Wind subdued the adversary alone and cheered for this reason. But more wind creatures were venting their emotions for the battle’s victory.

Standing high in the clouds, Gentle Wind Urano never expected such a scene upon returning.

Positioned above, it was momentarily at a loss on how to respond. Seeing the excited citizens, explaining now that it wasn’t its credit, that these were actually prisoners of a foreign human, would severely dampen morale.

However, not saying anything would lead them to believe it single-handedly defeated the enemies, which would not only disrespect Angel but also be detrimental to itself... No matter how powerful Gentle Wind Urano was, it knew it couldn’t defeat so many invaders alone. Otherwise, why summon all the wind creatures back to Wind Island just to cheer? If the inhabitants of Wind Island misunderstand, thinking it can handle future external threats alone, wouldn’t that be embarrassing?

Thus, it decided that a quick correction would be best.

Just as Gentle Wind Urano was about to openly clarify, a voice suddenly came to its ear: ”I don’t care about empty accolades.”

Gentle Wind Urano gazed towards a corner of Wind Island below, seeing Angel offering a gentle and polite smile.

”You may not care, but I do.” Gentle Wind Urano transmitted via the wind to Angel: ”The higher the pedestal, the greater the fall.”

Hearing the voice laced with evident helplessness, Angel was a little surprised, not expecting Gentle Wind Urano to have such long-sighted perspective.

”No worries, if you must explain, you can do so later. Explaining now would only cause bewilderment among them.” Angel replied, ”I truly don’t mind.”

Gentle Wind Urano remained silent for a moment, finding this to be a good idea, and thus directed a look of gratitude towards Angel.

After the cheers and jubilation on Wind Island, Angel didn’t stay to participate. Instead, he flew to the palace outside the highest peak of Wind Island on the gondola, guided by the transmission of the gentle breeze, Uranus.

There are many human buildings on Wind Island, reportedly constructed under the guidance of the gentle breeze, Uranus. The largest of these structures is the palace complex that winds from the mountainside all the way to the summit.

The palace complex is extremely vast, but being shrouded in mist year-round, its true form is difficult to discern from afar.

It wasn’t until Angel got closer that he felt the visual shock brought by this grand palace complex.

This palace complex is even larger than the royal palace of Shannon in the outside world, completely unimaginable that it was built by wind creatures.

Upon reaching the mountain summit, Angel saw The Sage, Kamil, already waiting at the palace gates.

”Is this another avatar of Mr. Kamil?” Angel jumped off the gondola.

Kamil nodded: ”Yes, His Highness asked me to wait here for you, he’ll be here shortly.”

The gentle breeze, Uranus, is still figuring out how to settle the group of ”captives” and rearranging clan members called back to Wind Island, so Angel understood.

Although the gentle breeze, Uranus, hasn’t returned, some matters can still be handled first.

For example, the arrangements for the various elemental sprites on the gondola.

Angel summoned all the elemental sprites from the ship, except... Bean Vine Jack.

Whether Jack could step onto Wind Island was not for Angel to decide.

Upon hearing about Jack’s situation, Kamil immediately understood that Jack was probably sent by The Sage of Green Field to gather information. Given the current relationship between Green Field and White Cloud Village, calling it malicious probing doesn’t quite apply, but the intention to probe is very evident.

However, the ”internal troubles” of White Cloud Village, due to Angel’s appearance, have been resolved.

Given Wind Island’s current situation, letting Green Field’s Sage know wouldn’t matter.

Thinking this, Kamil said with a smile, ”Green Field and White Cloud Village are closest allies. If Jack wishes to land on the island, we naturally welcome him.”

With Kamil’s approval, Angel finally released Jack.

However, as soon as Jack disembarked, before he could say anything, Kamil sent him off with a wind creature under the guise of ”showing you around Wind Island.”

Angel didn’t stop him, as just like Kamil said, Green Field and White Cloud Village are very close, and Jack certainly wouldn’t be mistreated.

After Jack left, Angel shifted his focus to the group of sprites.

Arnott is still crying in the yellow sand cage, sobbing continuously. According to Dangross, it’s not sad crying, but happy crying.

Angel didn’t immediately release Arnott because Arnott’s circumstances are relatively special, considered a bilateral diplomatic matter. Although he has reasons and excuses to release him, he decided to wait until the gentle breeze, Uranus, returns.

As for the other wind elemental sprites, after Angel lifted the illusion technique enveloping them, they were taken away by subordinates Kamil called.

During the previous wartime mobilization, these wind elemental sprites remained in place, as the enemy wouldn’t trouble them, and they weren’t brought back. Now that Angel brought them back, proper arrangements need to be made.

However, one wind elemental sprite remained behind.

It was the Silver White Flying Fish they encountered earlier.

Without any accident, this Silver White Flying Fish should be from Storm Ridge, named Feltworth.

How to deal with this sprite not born in White Cloud Village, Kamil temporarily had no plan. It was his first time handling such a situation and couldn’t make decisions on his own. He could only wait for His Highness of Gentle Breeze to return for further discussion.

After settling the wind elemental sprites, Kamil led them into the palace atop the mountain.

Closer contact with the palace, Angel noticed some details. Although the overall architectural style is indeed human, many details inside are contrary to human architectural style.

For instance, the ”castle in the sky,” clearly violating architectural principles, can appear here.

Perhaps this is a change accommodating wind creatures?

Such a change wouldn’t work outside, but here it’s very reasonable and has a unique charm.

Later, through Kamil’s introduction, Angel learned it wasn’t a change due to accommodation, but... built instinctively.

Kamil said these buildings were imitations by the gentle breeze, Uranus, based on Mr. Feng’s few words and paintings he had seen from Mr. Feng.

Though imitated, the gentle breeze, Uranus hadn’t studied architecture systematically, so only resembling in form without capturing the essence, it can only be considered instinctive architecture.

Buildings floating on air without foundations can only appear on Wind Island.

The truth might be laughable, but it must be said, this kind of ”instinctive earmark” building is very distinctive. The clustering ecology of wind creatures has developed its own style.

If it continues, it might form a new urban civilization.

Under Kamil’s guidance, they walked about a hundred meters along the palace corridor and finally arrived before an imposing hall.

This hall’s form largely resembles the Silver Heron royal family’s style. Angel estimated that when the gentle breeze, Uranus, constructed it, he must have referenced Mr. Feng’s paintings related to the Silver Heron royal family.

There are no guards on the platform outside the hall, allowing direct passage to the hall entrance.

Before the hall door, they encountered a wind creature.

More accurately, it was a Wind Spirit.
