Chapter 2221: Chapter 2222: Gentle Breeze

A few miles away from the misty battlefield.

The Black Python that previously stood proudly in the clouds now seemed to have wilted, with multiple holes on its body leaking dark wind. Once all the dark wind inside it was exhausted, even if its elemental core wasn’t shattered by Toby, it would still take a long time to recover.

Moreover, the pitch-black elemental core exposed in the large crack in its abdomen was already in front of Toby.

The snake’s confused vertical pupils reflected the burning light and shadow of flames.

It never expected, just following the orders of Lord Hurricane to reclaim Feiwate, it would become its endgame.

Watching the Gryphon’s surging flames rushing toward its dark core, despair filled the snake’s eyes. It knew that when the fire touched its elemental core, its consciousness would reach an end.

It had considered self-detonation, but with six or seven parts of the dark wind already leaked out, the power of self-detonation had begun to diminish, and the Flame Gryphon opposite seemed to have long expected this, always keeping a safe distance.

Such self-detonation was meaningless.

Forget it, just like this, welcome the end of the wind.

In the last moment of life, a trace of calmness finally appeared in the snake’s eyes.

On the distant gondola, Arnott, locked in a cage of yellow sand, suddenly started to cry and turned its head to the other side, unwilling to witness the snake’s demise.

Even though this Black Python was not on the same side as them, it was still a part of the Wind Tribe. Although it supported Toby’s actions, it couldn’t suppress the sadness seeping from its spiritual depths.

As this battle was about to settle to dust, even the snake itself had given up hope of survival. However, at this moment, a melodious sound of a harp unexpectedly drifted into their ears.

As the harp music floated in, the raging flames rushing towards the Black Python were blocked by an invisible wind barrier.

I, I... didn’t die? The snake suddenly froze, never expecting to survive at the last moment. Perhaps even it hadn’t anticipated this turnaround, and didn’t think of leaving immediately. Instead, it stayed dazedly in place.

Toby, looking at the invisible wind barrier, had a strand of fire flickering in its crimson pupils, and with an angry breath, turned towards the source of the harp sound.

In the darkly floating distant clouds, a black dot was flying towards here at an amazing speed.

”The birth of wind’s offspring is not easy, please show mercy.”

Unseen, the voice had already reached first.

That gentle tone didn’t soothe Toby’s heart. It shook its flaming mane, and flames guided by the Gravity Meridian transformed into a fiery cage of rule power.

After incarcerating the dying Black Python in the cage, Toby transformed into a flaming arrow rushing toward the distant black dot.

The speaking black dot was the gentle wind Ulanos rushing from Wind Island. When it saw Toby charging towards it aggressively, it was stunned. How come this Gryphon, resembling the former ruler of the Tidal World, suddenly launched an attack on it?

If it’s because of saving that snake, wasn’t it about to explain?

Without even starting a disagreement, it decided to start a fight so decisively?

Despite having much to say, faced with Toby’s raging strength, Gentle Wind Ulanos had to bring up its will to respond.

However, Gentle Wind Ulanos didn’t see Toby as an enemy, even though it saw the infant of White Cloud Village, Arnott, trapped in a cage. It still didn’t want to, nor could face Toby as an enemy.

It differed from the uninformed Hurricane. As an ancient artifact surviving from the Cataclysm Era, it had witnessed the first ruler, Kalomchis, after the cataclysm with its own eyes.

Whether in form or real body, Toby was identical to that ruler. As a former subordinate of Kalomchis, before figuring out Toby’s relationship with Kalomchis, it couldn’t be hostile.

Therefore, facing Toby’s overwhelming attack, Gentle Wind Ulanos didn’t make any counterattack, instead dodging while plucking the harp strings, hoping the gentle power in the music would calm the enraged Toby.

However, the more Toby fought, the angrier it got. Firstly, it assumed the newcomer was a companion of Hurricane; otherwise, why save that snake? Secondly, its external display of rage was largely due to the special aura of this physical form, and its heart wasn’t actually fiery. Instead, seeing Gentle Wind Ulanos playing the harp while dodging made it somewhat angry. Was such frivolous behavior a sign of contempt?

The asymmetrical information on both sides and the discrepancy in understanding led to the increasingly fierce situation.

Nevertheless, no matter what, Gentle Wind Ulanos was an Element Lord living for thousands of years. When measured by a wizard’s power, it had reached the pinnacle of Level 1 True Knowledge, even though it hadn’t broken through the barrier to Level 2 True Knowledge. But in terms of wind elemental control, it was stronger than many who truly reached Level 2 True Knowledge in wind magic. Moreover, it was in the Cloud Sea, a place that greatly amplified wind-type creatures.

Thus, even with the mastery of the Gravity Meridian, Toby hadn’t touched the transformed gentle wind Ulanos from start to finish. It wasn’t that its speed was slower than Gentle Wind Ulanos, but in limited spatial maneuvering, Toby couldn’t match Ulanos, who was truly one with the wind.

Although Toby’s body wasn’t injured, its heart was greatly affected. Such a battle made it feel stifled.

”Stop, we can calmly communicate.”

Toby also heard Gentle Wind Ulanos’s plea, but seeing the figure dodging while playing the harp really annoyed it, so it continued to thrash stubbornly.

A few minutes later, Jack the Bean Vine endured the roaring wind, floating near them, and shouted loudly: ”Lord Toby, you’ve misunderstood, it’s His Highness Gentle Wind!”

Only then did Toby gradually stop its hand.

Actually, during the battle, Toby had roughly guessed the other’s identity from the calm wind, but due to some psychological reasons, it didn’t stop. Jack the Bean Vine’s words provided it a stepping stone, so it took the step down.

After Toby stopped, it was still somewhat unsatisfied, snorting coldly at Gentle Wind Ulanos before turning around and transforming into a gray mist to fly back to the gondola.

A minute later, Gentle Wind Ulanos also came near the gondola with Jack the Bean Vine.

Gentle Wind Ulanos first glanced at the snake imprisoned in the fiery cage, then arrived beside the gondola.

Watching the exquisite creation of the gondola, its movements also became cautious. However, before Gentle Wind Ulanos could board the gondola, it was interrupted by a paw from Toby, barring its way.

Though no one understood Toby’s intention, Toby’s subordinate, Dangross, seemed to have realized something and explained: ”Your Highness, this flying boat belongs to Mr. Pat.”

The unspoken message was clear: Without Angel’s permission, even as the king of White Cloud Village, don’t think about boarding.

The gentle breeze Uranos suddenly realized that Angel might be a human like Mr. Feng. Mr. Feng had also mentioned that the human world is very complex and full of rules, so it could accept following the rules of the other party.

What the gentle breeze Uranos didn’t know was that this wasn’t a rule set by Angel; it was simply Toby being displeased with it, a small act of revenge.

”Gentle breeze... Your Highness.”

As the gentle breeze Uranos quietly stayed outside the Gondola, a weak, somewhat hesitant call came from the sandy cage.

The gentle breeze Uranos looked over and saw a small whirlwind in the cage, looking pitiful and aggrieved like a crying child. It sighed lightly and said gently, ”I know you, you’re called Arnott, right?”

Five minutes later, the gentle breeze Uranos roughly understood the current situation from Arnott, and finally felt relieved.

It had previously thought that Toby and the human named Angel came with malicious intent, and had taken Arnott and other Wind Spirits as hostages.

Just a moment ago, it was considering whether there was a way to resolve the feud. But now it seemed there was nothing to worry about. Angel’s intentions were good, and the battle with Hurricane’s group was a forced counterattack.

The gentle breeze Uranos looked at Toby with a deep sense of apology: ”I mistakenly obstructed you without understanding the situation earlier, and that was my fault.”

Toby was protecting the Wind Spirits on the Gondola, and it suddenly using a wind wall to block Toby was bound to anger him.

Toby snorted coldly, turned his head, and didn’t want to acknowledge the gentle breeze Uranos. If it weren’t for Angel seeking this pretentious musician for combat, it would’ve already kicked it out.

The gentle breeze Uranos looked slightly awkward, and after a long pause, said, ”Perhaps, would Mr. Toby continue to slay this python? I won’t interfere this time.”

Toby snorted twice, not moving. This matter was an internal conflict among your wind types, and it had no interest in wasting its energy. Now, trying to trick it into taking action was futile.

Toby’s sudden pride made the gentle breeze Uranos slightly unable to grasp its intention.

”Then, should I handle it?”

Toby didn’t speak, just slightly flapped its burning wings, retracting the flame cage, indicating his approval.

The gentle breeze Uranos sighed in relief and gently waved its hand. Seconds later, groups of hidden wind-type creatures emerged from the clouds and mist, taking away the Black Python.

The gentle breeze Uranos wanted to further communicate with Toby, perhaps discussing Kalomchis’ matters, but seeing Toby’s resistant attitude, it could only set it aside for now. Perhaps, only after meeting the human named Angel could it learn more information.

Thinking of Angel, the gentle breeze Uranos couldn’t help but look towards the distant rolling Mist.

Unlike the relaxed ease when facing Toby, it looked at that Mist battlefield with a serious expression.

It had already learned from Dangross and Arnott’s words that the Mist was likely set up by Angel, and that Angel alone trapped Hurricane and its numerous subordinates in the Mist. Such ability was incredible.

One must know, Hurricane was a strong contender for the last generation’s Storm Monarch, its strength was unquestionable, let alone its three powerful wind generals and dozens of hurricane-wielding subordinates. Yet such a powerful force couldn’t escape the Mist’s shroud.

Moreover, the gentle breeze Uranos had already secretly sent its subordinates to investigate, but once entering the Mist battlefield, all contact was lost.

Clearly, there’s a terrifying wind blowing within the Mist battlefield, but it’s as if a special protective cover digested all of it internally, unable to blow outside.

What exactly is going on inside? What is happening with the human named Angel now? What about Hurricane and its subordinates?

”What should we do now, Teacher Kamil?” the gentle breeze Uranos said softly.

As the words fell, under the gaze of those on the Gondola, a faint Green Shadow appeared beside the gentle breeze Uranos. This shadow looked blurry, its true appearance unclear, but from Uranos’s call, they knew this was the Sage of White Cloud Village, Kamil.

Kamil looked at the hesitant face of the gentle breeze Uranos, sighed lightly: ”Your Highness, I think...”

Before the words fell entirely, the gentle breeze Uranos interrupted, ”Teacher Kamil, should I go in and see?”

Kamil frowned: ”Your Highness, at this stage...”

The gentle breeze Uranos: ”Do you think so too?”

Kamil: ”???”

Who are you talking about? Who else are you talking to, weren’t you calling my name?

The gentle breeze Uranos gently plucked the strings of a harp, its elongated yet soft eyes lightly drooping: ”Alright, I think so too. After all, there’s no other way.”

This time, not only Kamil, including Dangross, Arnott, Jack...etc., their expressions bore inexplicable confusion, questioning who this legendary gentlest Wind Monarch was talking to, and what it was thinking?

Even Toby’s eyes changed looking at the gentle breeze Uranos: ...So, it’s a fool.

”Since Teacher Kamil also says so, I will go in and see. No matter what, Hurricane’s target is us, the White Cloud Village. If Mr. Pat is affected by this, the one who’d feel the worst and most guilty would be me.”

After the words of the gentle breeze Uranos, without minding everyone else’s puzzled expressions, it transformed into the wind and rushed into the Mist battlefield.

With the powerful burst of the gentle breeze Uranos, when it decided to leave, no one could stop it.

Toby could activate the Gravity Meridian to catch up, but it didn’t expect the gentle breeze Uranos to self-dialogue and then suddenly leave without any warning.

In the blink of an eye, the gentle breeze Uranos had already rushed into the Mist battlefield and disappeared.

Watching the gentle breeze Highness who had vanished into the distance, Dangross turned to Arnott and exclaimed: ”What did His Highness and Sage Kamil just say?”

Arnott was also full of questions: ”Yeah, what did they say?”

Kamil stood silently aside, listening to the inquiries of the small folks on the Gondola, it too wanted to ask this one: What did the imagined version of me in His Highness’s head say?
