Chapter 2246: Chapter 2247: Six Hundred Years Ago

Until Angel followed Frost Iser through the Pure White Gate, he was still somewhat dazed.

Who would have thought Frost Iser would agree so easily.

You have to know, the sages and monarchs of other regions, even if they were inclined to cooperate with Angel, did not nod directly. They planned to first meet with The Sage Magu, and then wait to meet the people from the Barbarian Cave before making a decision.

And now, Frost Iser had expressed support without any conditions; even though it provided a set of explanations, Angel was still very shocked. After all, Angel himself understood how subversive the suggestions in ”The Future Possibilities of the Tidal World” were to the past norms of elemental creatures.

”You seem to have something on your mind, are you worried about those companions of yours?” At this time, Frost Iser’s voice came from the front.

Angel looked up, looking ahead at a... snowball.

More accurately, it was a floating snowball, formed by Frost Iser.

Because this Pure White Gate was designed for human-sized creatures, the passage inside was very low. Frost Iser’s original size could not fit inside at all. So, Frost Iser had to shrink and transform.

It’s just that Angel didn’t understand why it became a snowball.

Could it be that this was the appearance of Frost Iser during its spirit phase? Although Angel guessed in his heart, he wisely didn’t ask.

”Is there anything to worry about them?” Angel replied. This time entering the Pure White Gate, only Angel and Earl Mi hidden in the shadows came; no other elemental creatures entered, including Toby who was also outside at this time.

”If you’re not worried about those companions, then why are you frowning, could it be that you are worried about yourself?” The snowball in front paused for a while, then turned back to look at Angel.

Looking at the pair of completely disproportionate large round eyes on the snowball, Angel instinctively turned his eyes away.

It really formed a dramatic contrast with the noble and cold queen image from before on the Frozen Throne.

Although the tone was still indifferent, paired with this image, its lethality greatly diminished.

”Does Your Highness mean to separate me from them, and then strike them one by one?”

”No.”

”Since it’s not, then why should I worry?” Angel: ”I trust Your Highness.”

The two eyes on the snowball quietly watched Angel, before finally shifting their gaze after a while, turning around to continue forward.

”You and he are very similar.” Half a minute later, Frost Iser’s voice echoed in the silent passage.

”The ’he’ Your Highness refers to, is it Mr. Feng?” Angel asked.

The snowball made a small hum, then softly added: ”That self-righteous air about you, is very much like him.”

Even though Frost Iser’s rhetoric carried a critical tone, its voice didn’t contain any criticism, but rather a deep reminiscence. Just like a girl who cannot forget her first love, when recalling the other, she clearly wants to speak ill of them, but the memories that emerge are filled with the other’s goodness.

Angel took a deep look at the back of the snowball ahead: ”It seems like Your Highness and Mr. Feng are really familiar with each other. You must have a good relationship, right?”

Frost Iser did not answer, only let out a small hum, as if with disdain. But Angel was watching Frost Iser closely, so he clearly saw, when he asked this question, its figure paused almost imperceptibly; although it quickly adjusted back, it was clear that its heart was not as disdainful as it appeared on the surface.

Angel had already gleaned the answer to his question from the details, so he didn’t pursue it further but shifted the topic: ”Earlier outside, Your Highness agreed so readily, was it because of Mr. Feng too?”

The snowball turned slightly, casting a sidelong glance at Angel: ”You were furrowing your brows earlier, thinking about this the whole time?”

Angel didn’t deny it, nodding in acknowledgment: ”After all, I’ve met quite a few Element Lords along the way, Your Highness was the only one who agreed to me directly.”

Angel previously thought, upon leaving the Region of Fire, that Frost Iser of the Malaya Ice Mountain would probably be the hardest to deal with; now it appeared he was completely wrong.

Frost Iser let out a small hum: ”They didn’t make a decision, simply because they have been at the bottom of the well since their birth, even if they ponder the outside world, it’s merely wishful thinking. Naturally, they don’t know, the sky outside is countless times bigger than they can imagine.”

”Has Your Highness left the Tidal World?” From Frost Iser’s words, Angel inferred this layer of meaning.

Frost Iser: ”I haven’t been to the Wizards’ Realm, but I followed Mr. Feng, to the Void.”

Precisely because it had been to the Void, and learned some information about the endless void, knowing that far outside the void there are countless worlds larger than the Tidal World, it gradually accepted the fact that the Tidal World is actually very small, and itself even smaller.

Though initially, Frost Iser was struck by this, and even wanted to escape this fact, with time its experience in the void brought countless returns. The greatest gain among them was learning reverence, recognizing insignificance; simultaneously, breaking free from the current framework, genuinely seeing the world beyond the bottom of the well.

And it was precisely because Frost Iser’s perspectives changed that he wasn’t limited by the framework of this world of the Tidal World. With this premise, it understood that to completely transcend, cooperating with powerful human wizards was undoubtedly the best choice.

Of course, this only made Frost Iser willing to work with human wizards; the fact that it agreed to Angel so easily had another most important reason.

”You said earlier that you trust me.” Frost Iser quietly looked at Angel: ”That sentence, I return it to you. Because you are the one Mr. Feng waits for, I trust Feng, so I also trust you.”

Angel was momentarily stunned. Although he had roughly guessed earlier that Frost Iser agreed so readily largely due to Feng’s influence, he didn’t expect this influence to be so immense.

Frost Iser almost had a kind of blind obedience in regard to Feng’s words.

Is it possible, he had felt correctly earlier? Could it be, Feng and Frost Iser...

Angel shook his head, shaking off those gossip thoughts. Although his question had been cleared up, Frost Iser’s earlier words aroused a new curiosity in Angel.

Angel: ”Why would Mr. Feng take Your Highness into the Void?” Moreover, he didn’t even visit the nearby Wizards’ Realm, but went to the Void instead?

Upon hearing this, Frost Iser chuckled slightly: ”You will find out soon enough.”

With that, Frost Iser did not speak any further with Angel, and led the way silently.

After walking through the passage for about five minutes, finally, a bright light appeared ahead.

Perhaps because they had been in the dark passage for a long time, although the light ahead was not dazzling, at first it was hard to discern the scene behind the light.

”We’re here.” Frost Iser was the first to walk into the light.

Angel didn’t hesitate, following into the light. As the dim light spots before his eyes gradually faded, Angel finally saw the surrounding scene.

It was an ice room resembling a tower, with a stationary light source at the top illuminating the entire ice room brightly.

Because the ice chamber is quite spacious, Frost Iser at this moment also returned from the snowball shape to the four-meter-tall form of the Snow Queen.

Da da da—

After Frost Iser restored her true body, she did not stop her steps but walked toward the side of the ice chamber, until she reached the end of the ice wall.

Angel noticed that this ice chamber was very empty, except for the ice tables and chairs, there were no other items. Therefore, Angel also followed Frost Iser, approaching the ice wall nearby.

In front of this ice wall, there was a throne. It was similar to the frozen throne outside, but the design was not so extravagant.

Judging from the size of the throne, it wasn’t made for humans to sit on. It’s estimated that the owner of the throne is still Frost Iser.

Skipping over the throne, Angel directed his gaze to the ice wall.

On the ice wall was a painting: The Snow Queen, wearing a crown and holding a scepter, sat above the throne, her head held high, gazing down at all beings.

The author of this wall painting was Feng. And the Snow Queen in the painting was undoubtedly Frost Iser.

Frost Iser looked at her own image in the wall painting, let out a barely audible sigh, then turned around and walked to the side of the throne, gazing at a certain position directly in front of it.

Angel followed her line of sight and found that the spot she was looking at was empty, with nothing there.

”Back then, he stood right there staring at me, then created this wall painting,” Frost Iser said softly.

Angel was startled for a moment, carefully observing and comparing, he found that what Frost Iser said might be true, because the throne in the painting and the throne in front of the ice wall were identical. From the perspective view, Feng might indeed have been standing in that spot, observing while he painted the wall painting.

”It’s just, at that time I was sitting on the throne, clearly in a daze, yet the expression he painted for me was like this,” Frost Iser mumbled to herself: ”So, in his eyes, is this how I should be?”

Angel didn’t interrupt at this time, because he didn’t know the answer either, and Angel believed Frost Iser didn’t necessarily need an answer.

He just needed to quietly wait for Frost Iser to awaken from her reminiscence.

Half a minute later, Frost Iser let out a long sigh and sat on the throne.

”Sorry, monotonous times have gone on for so long, that seeing flashes from memory, I can’t help but want to indulge in them,” Frost Iser said to Angel.

”Monotonous times? Your Highness seems to not be satisfied with current life.”

”I just feel this kind of boring days have lasted too long. However, now that you’ve appeared, I believe the boring times will soon end,” Frost Iser stated with an implied meaning.

Angel seemed to think of something and was prepared to inquire further. But Frost Iser waved her finger: ”These matters are unimportant, let’s return to the main topic. Regarding Mr. Feng, if you have any questions, feel free to ask now.”

Angel: ”What fate did Mr. Feng speak of, did he ever mention me?”

”I once asked Mr. Feng about the issue of fate, his answer was, it cannot be spoken of. So, I’m not too clear about fate either,” Frost Iser said, ”Perhaps you can ask Akimo, its understanding of fate is far beyond mine.”

Angel: Akimo? I think I’ll pass.

Frost Iser: ”Although Mr. Feng didn’t explain what fate is, he did mention some digressions, such as the direction of fate.”

”He said, fate has many directions, different choices can lead fate in different paths. He also used himself as an example, saying if he hadn’t opened that book, he wouldn’t have come to the Tidal World, nor would he have saved the collapsing elemental vortex, thus there wouldn’t be the current layout of the Tidal World, nor would there be...,” Frost Iser paused for a moment, her pure white eyes slowly rose, looking at Angel: ”Nor would there be someone who would follow his footsteps and come here.”

Angel understood that the person Feng mentioned, following in his footsteps, undoubtedly referred to Angel himself.

Obviously, Feng foresaw the current situation, in other words, Angel indeed stepped into the trap Feng set.

But...

”Why me?”

Frost Iser shrugged, ”That I don’t know, maybe you’ll get an answer if you wait until Mr. Feng returns and ask him.”

”Mr. Feng left the Tidal World thousands of years ago, who knows how long it will take for him to come back,” Angel sighed, it seems the truth will not be unveiled for now.

At this time, Frost Iser suddenly said, ”Who said Feng left the Tidal World thousands of years ago?”

Angel was stunned for a moment, ”Isn’t that the case?”

Frost Iser shook her head, ”It’s true that Mr. Feng’s first departure from the Tidal World traces back to the period of the initial disaster settlement three thousand years ago. But afterward, Mr. Feng actually came back once.”

Feng returned to the Tidal World?!

Angel had been to several realms, yet no sage had mentioned Feng came back after leaving! Including, the gentle breeze Uranus of the White Cloud Village, did not mention it either.

Judging from the situation back then, Angel believed they absolutely weren’t deliberately concealing it, then there was only one possibility.

The fact that Feng returned to the Tidal World, they actually didn’t know!

”When did Mr. Feng come back?” Angel quickly asked.

Frost Iser paused, ”Six hundred years ago.”

Six hundred years ago? When Frost Iser mentioned this time point, Angel suddenly remembered a passage—

”I lived with the human calling himself ’Feng’ in the Ice Valley for a few years. During those years, Feng helped me establish this ice crystal palace, and at the same time, he taught me how to paint. The mural of Binaqionse in the palace was painted under his instruction.”

”Feng actually came to the Ice Valley? When did that happen?”

”Six hundred years ago.”

The above, was a dialogue between Angel and Odeclass, the Lord of the Ice Valley on the surface of the Abyss.

Six hundred years ago, Feng not only came to the Tidal World, but also went to the Abyss? How could the time point be so close?

While Angel was pondering, Frost Iser added, ”The direction of fate I just mentioned, was also something Feng said during his return to the Tidal World six hundred years ago.”
