Chapter 2241: Chapter 2242: Malaya Ice Mountain

Frode, upon confirming that the threat of this pink Mist of Sin far exceeded the black Mist of Sin, immediately dispatched members of the Sin Hunting Group to camp nearby.

The purpose of the Sin Hunting Group is to combat creatures born from Heretic Power and protect Originheart City.

Therefore, upon learning of the emergence of a new Mist of Sin, the majority of Demon Hunters responded.

In a short time, ten Demon Hunters gathered around the pink Mist of Sin and quickly set up a temporary camp nearby using their abilities.

With the camp established and the arrival of the Demon Hunters, the threat level of the pink Mist of Sin decreased slightly, but it was still insufficient. In the foreseeable future, the pink Mist of Sin will continuously birth creatures of Heretic Power, and the mere ten Demon Hunters will be far from sufficient to completely guard against it.

To ensure the safety of Originheart City, it is necessary to expand the Sin Hunting Group.

This is a long-term plan, and Angel did not pay full attention to it. With Frode in charge, he believed nothing should go wrong.

So, after the Demon Hunter camp was established, Angel temporarily bid farewell to the forest and returned to Originheart City.

In Originheart City, he chatted with Jon about recent events, learned about the new version update progress of the Mother Tree Network development team, and lastly left messages through the Tree Network to his brother Lyon and mentor Sanders. Only then did Angel leave the Wilderness of Dreams again.

...

Opening his eyes on the Gondola, Angel leaned against the ship’s edge and looked down.

The endless sea still stretched below, but different from before he slept, the surface of the Gentle Wave Sea now had a thin layer of frost mist.

The presence of this frost mist caused the surrounding temperature to plummet sharply.

From the change in the environment and the temperature feedback, Angel could basically confirm that they were not far from Malaya Ice Mountain.

Angel raised his head and quietly called out, ”Lobal.”

As his voice fell, the figure of the Tri-headed Lionhound slowly appeared outside the ship.

”Master, what do you require?” A respectful voice came from the tail head’s mouth.

The main and auxiliary heads smartly kept silent because they knew well that when Angel spoke of Lobal, he referred only to the tail head.

Angel: ”Tell me what you know about Malaya Ice Mountain and Frost Iser.”

Although Angel had obtained some related information, he wanted to hear how Lobal, who possessed a sage-like presence, perceived this region and its monarch.

Lobal’s tail head pondered for a moment, then began to methodically recount the information he knew.

Malaya Ice Mountain is not a land ice mountain, but a giant unmelting ice floe drifting on the Gentle Wave Sea. Countless ice and snow creatures inhabit it, but Malaya Ice Mountain does not only harbor ice-related creatures. In the ocean beneath the ice mountain, there are also numerous water-related creatures under the control of Frost Iser.

The above is a general overview of Malaya Ice Mountain. Then Lobal began talking about Frost Iser.

As Lobal delved deeper into describing Frost Iser, Angel’s expression became slightly odd.

Because before this, his most detailed information about Frost Iser came from Mr. Magu. After all, the Region of Fire and Malaya Ice Mountain have always been adversaries, and generally, the person who knows your information best is either your family or your enemy.

Angel had already received a comprehensive description of Frost Iser from Magu.

In Magu’s words, Frost Iser is a proud, indifferent, wise, yet hostile plunderer.

Putting aside slightly emotional descriptions and ignoring the ancient rivalry between fire and ice elements, Angel’s basic concept of Frost Iser is a proud and aloof Ice Monarch. Meeting and persuading the other party might not be easy. Angel even thought before that meeting Frost Iser might ultimately resort to force.

But in Lobal’s mouth, the portrayal of Frost Iser was overflowing with praise.

Angel could still understand qualities like boldness and responsibility; however, when Lobal mentioned Frost Iser being kind, with a cold exterior but a warm heart, Angel felt confused.

Why is the information he received in the Region of Fire completely different?

Before Angel could question, Dangross interrupted, ”Nonsense, Frost Iser is the most terrifying and indifferent monarch in the world. It is nothing like you say, having a warm heart. Its heart is cold, devoid of warmth!”

After Dangross spoke, Cubic murmured nearby, ”His Highness Frost is an ice element creature, of course, its heart is cold...”

Dangross turned his head, ”Shut up.”

Cubic immediately fell silent, while Dangross continued to glare angrily at Lobal.

Lobal did not pick faults with Dangross’s words but instead said slowly, ”You come from the Region of Fire, so I understand your prejudice.”

”It’s not prejudice, it’s fact!” Dangross protested.

Lobal didn’t argue with Dangross, instead agreeing, ”I agree with what you said. Your view of His Highness Frost might be factual, but there’s certainly prejudice involved. Don’t rush to refute; let me explain first.”

”Ice and fire are attributes of natural opposition rare in the Tidal World. The conflict between them might even be inherent. Moreover, the repeated clashes between Malaya Ice Mountain and the Region of Fire have intensified the hatred between the two races. Therefore, your perspective on His Highness Frost naturally carries a subjective mindset. Thus, in your view, this is indeed a fact.”

”But from my perspective, the answer is completely different. Since we have no animosity with His Highness Frost, we can view His Highness Frost’s situation more objectively.”

Just as Lobal finished speaking, without waiting for Dangross to react, Cubic chimed in, ”You claim to be objective? Not necessarily.”

Angel focused his attention on Cubic, ”Why do you say this?”

Cubic flapped its wings, landing on the table, its round eyes looking at Lobal outside the ship, ”I once heard Lord Kamil say that the relationship between Storm Ridge and Malaya Ice Mountain is very friendly.”

Angel looked at Lobal, who paused for a moment before saying, ”Indeed, we have a good relationship with Malaya Ice Mountain because the Hurricane His Highness once studied at Malaya Ice Mountain for a time.”

Hurricane Suporio of Storm Ridge studied at Malaya Ice Mountain? Angel’s eyes flashed with surprise.

”Before Hurricane His Highness became a monarch, to break the shackles of strength, he went to study with His Highness Frost for a time. Consequently, Storm Ridge and Malaya Ice Mountain have a comparatively good relationship.” Lobal paused, ”But even without this connection, I still uphold my previous viewpoint. Because at the time Hurricane His Highness was just a minor figure studying at Malaya Ice Mountain, yet he still received support from His Highness Frost, who taught him wholeheartedly. This alone offers a glimpse.”

Lyon agreed with the latter part of what Lobal said; different positions yield different answers.

However, Lyon was more interested in why the Whirlwind Huporio sought learning from Frost Iser.

Quickly, Lobal provided the answer: ”Because Frost Iser is a Snow Queen.”

Though an ice creature, she can also control the wild ice winds, making her a unique ice creature. What the Whirlwind Huporio learned from Frost Iser is naturally the control of wind.

”Frost Iser can control wind? You are wind creatures; that’s even less objective, and you say I’m biased,” Dangross sneered.

Lobal: ”In the Region of Fire, there are creatures that can control flame tornadoes; it’s not the same across the board. Moreover, I previously gave examples to illustrate that...”

Lobal said a lot of words and gave many examples to prove that its answer, even without this relationship, was objective.

But Dangross simply responded with ”I’m not listening,” dismissing everything it said.

Lobal only felt a pang of frustration in its chest. It was impossible for it to argue with an Elemental Sprite, so it ultimately swallowed its frustration.

At this moment, Cubic quietly remarked: ”If it were Lord Kamil, facing Dangross’s anger, he would have started with a smile of indifference. Because the moment you start reasoning, you’ve already lost, especially when dealing with a sprite who doesn’t listen to reason.”

Cubic’s words pierced both Lobal and, in a subtle jab, Dangross, though Dangross, entirely focused on Lobal, hadn’t noticed.

Lyon glanced at Cubic: ”You sure know how to seize opportunities.”

Cubic stepped back, lowering its presence.

Lyon didn’t bother with Cubic or Dangross’s flaunting but instead looked at Lobal: ”Since your Storm Ridge has a good relationship with Malaya Ice Mountain, you’ll be in charge of contacting Frost Iser.”

Given the oath of Dirk Moerk, Lobal naturally wouldn’t refuse, and it also wanted to prove in front of Dangross that its words weren’t wrong; so it nodded without hesitation: ”Alright, you can trust me with this, sir.”

Seeing Lobal’s confident look, Lyon nodded approvingly.

Previously worried that dealing with Frost Iser would be the toughest, it now seemed not so difficult? Ironically, what seemed simplest with White Cloud Village turned into a full-scale battle.

...

The Gondola continued flying for another hour.

Now, the surrounding wind began to carry frost, and although the surface of the Gentle Wave Sea below had not frozen, it started to sprinkle with frosty foam, occasionally revealing floating ice.

A few minutes later, a pure white ice mountain emerged before them.

This ice mountain wasn’t large, not like the rumored island-resembling Malaya Ice Mountain. However, atop this ice mountain stood a pure white snow leopard.

Because of the thick frost mist in the sky, the snow leopard hadn’t spotted the high-altitude Gondola, but Lyon could see the snow leopard in great detail.

Undoubtedly, this is an ice creature. Whether it has anything remarkable, Lyon didn’t know; but its appearance clearly indicated they were approaching Malaya Ice Mountain.

”Sir, I’ll go down to explore,” Lobal’s voice came to Lyon’s ears.

Lyon nodded. Though knowing Malaya Ice Mountain wasn’t far, it constantly moved and stayed under the protection of wind and snow, making it challenging to find it in this vast sea without guidance from an ice creature.

As Lobal went to the snow leopard to inquire about Malaya Ice Mountain’s location, Lyon observed quietly from above.

He noticed that when the snow leopard first heard Lobal’s voice, it clearly showed a rejecting demeanor and even assumed an aggressive stance as if preparing for battle. However, after Lobal revealed its original form and identity, the snow leopard’s attitude shifted; although not as warm as imagined, it began to engage with Lobal amicably.

This indicated that the wind creatures from Storm Ridge are indeed not regarded as enemies by Malaya Ice Mountain.

This was good news for Lyon; he preferred solving problems peacefully over resolving them through conflict.

Minutes later, Lobal returned high up, not alone but manipulating the ice wind and bringing the snow leopard along.

Lobal naturally couldn’t decide to bring the snow leopard onto the Gondola on its own; it was all done with Lyon’s approval.

”Sir, Bingkala said it would guide us to Malaya Ice Mountain,” Lobal said.

Bingkala, the snow leopard, was now perched on the ship’s edge, curiously looking at everyone on the Gondola. It had no reaction towards Lyon or Cubic but when its eyes landed on Dangross, its pupils suddenly contracted into slits.

However, when Bingkala realized that Dangross was a little elf, its pupils returned to their elliptical shape.

Though ice and fire creatures are natural opposites, they abide by the fundamental rule of elemental creatures: not attacking sprites.

Of course, if an Elemental Sprite provokes them, that’s another matter.

And Dangross provoking the snow leopard? That’s improbable... It’s easy to boast when there’s no ice creature, but not when one is around. After all, its various followers weren’t present here.

”Then thank you,” Lyon tried to express friendliness to Bingkala.

Bingkala looked at Lyon carefully before saying, ”Your aura is peculiar... But since you are Lord Lobal’s superior, I’m sure there won’t be any issues.”

After saying this, Bingkala nonchalantly laid itself on the Gondola’s prow, lazily raising its head and stretched out a paw to point in a direction: ”Malaya Ice Mountain is that way.”

Speedy began following Bingkala’s guidance, restarting the Gondola.

On the journey to Malaya Ice Mountain, under Lyon’s indication, Lobal started conversing with Bingkala.

As the conversation unfolded, Lyon learned that Bingkala agreed to guide them not just because of Lobal but also because it was heading back to Malaya Ice Mountain itself.

The ice mountain it had been on was originally part of Malaya Ice Mountain. However, a few days ago, due to some unforeseen events, it detached from Malaya Ice Mountain and drifted across the sea.

It had been slumbering in its domain, woke up to find itself adrift. Being somewhat lazy in nature, Bingkala intended to drift a few days to see if the ice mountain would naturally return to Malaya Ice Mountain. As it drifted further, Lobal’s timely appearance and learning of its destination led Bingkala to decisively choose to guide them, practically hitching a ride back.
