The monk clenched his teeth, angered by Alec’s attitude, but he couldn’t deny that Alec’s words aligned with the rules set by the competition committee.

The committee had implemented these rules, including the elimination of a safe space in the Grand Arena like the one used in the first round, all this to trap the War God Academy team in a confrontation with the remaining of the prestigious Great Eight Academy.

The committee believed that if the War God Academy team couldn’t surrender easily, they would be mercilessly defeated.

And this would showcase to the spectators, who had gathered to witness the underdogs create more miracles, that the Great Eight Academy’s prestige should never be challenged.

The committee was compelled to make these changes due to numerous complaints from ordinary academies.

These academies argued that the financial support granted to the top eight teams was excessively high, as they believed that even if a small allocation from the main budget was shared to them, then it would enable them to cultivate their own geniuses, potentially earning a place among the top eight like the War God Academy.

They used the War God Academy’s advancement as an excuse to push their demands and complaints they couldn’t make before, and all their complains eventually reached the ears of the committee, which consisted mostly of members from the Great Eight Academy.

As such the committee which possessed the authority, decided to enact such drastic rule changes.

However, now these rules, initially intended to restrict the War God Academy team, were now impeding a member of the Vajra Academy team.

Witnessing Alec’s unwavering determination, the monk turned to walk away.

However, Alec seized hold of Steele’s leg and forcefully threw him off the stage, Steele’s body soared through the air, even passing the monk, before violently crashing into the ground outside the battle ring, which caused the monk to turn back, fixating his gaze on Alec.

“You don’t need to worry, as I have grown bored of playing with him,” Alec declared, cracking his knuckles.

This statement completely mirrored Steele’s earlier words to him after defeating Sophia.

Observing Alec’s actions, the rest of the Vajra team began to fully grasp his deep-seated animosity towards their entire team, fueled by Steele’s mistreatment of Sophia, to them Alec seem determined to take petty revenge, even if it meant sacrificing his team’s advancement to the next round for a member they considered insignificant.

However, Alec wasn’t the type to pay heed to others opinion, he was seething with anger, feeling that he had failed his promise to protect Sophia, when she had aligned herself with the Gordons clan under his name, he had witness her humiliation, and despite his plea for her surrender he was rejected, this events made him hold Jasper partially responsible which was why he lashed at him.

However, Alec was not one to deflect blame onto others.

He was prepared to exact vengeance on the Vajra academy team.

“It’s advantageous to us that the captain of the War God Academy team is reckless,” the monk remarked upon reaching the Vajra academy’s seating area.

“This way, we can eliminate him early on and secure our smooth advancement to the next round of the competition.”

“Let me take him on now, captain to captain.

I would get rid of him, and it would be smooth sailing for us,” Yama declared, rising from his seat and preparing to make his move.

However, before he could take a step forward, the monk lightly tapped his hands on Yama’s shoulder, and suddenly, Yama found himself returning to his chair, unable to resist as if his muscles were being controlled by another person.

“No, you will not be doing that,” the monk stated firmly, which caused Yama’s expression to change, as he interpreted his instructor’s words as doubting his ability to win the next match.

“Patience, Yama, you must realize that we have never faced an opponent like this before, we have not encountered someone who fights as if he doesn’t care about the consequences,” the monk explained.

“But at the same time, he is considering all the angles we might use against him, he has even been throwing back the words said to him, indicating that he knows what he is doing, however, we are still going to demonstrate to him, how superior we are to the ordinary academies,” the monk continued, emphasizing the importance of their strategy.

“Omar, it’s your turn,” the monk announced decisively.

“Alec seems to believe that we would send Yama out to face him next, in fact everyone, even sensible people, are waiting for their clash, captain against captain.”

“But no, I won’t give him that satisfaction, this Alec gives me the chills of a scheme.

If I’m not mistaken, he must have a card up his sleeve, confident enough to defeat Yama, sending out Omar serves not only to waste that card but also weaken Alec in case he manages to defeat Omar,” the monk revealed, outlining his overarching plan, though Yama looked offended but he still listened intently to the strategy.

“Why do I have this bad feeling that you think I might lose against that little country Mage?” Yama asked, voicing his concern.

“I have absolute confidence in your ability to defeat him, however, there would be no gain for the Vajra Academy if we win at the cost of you suffering critical injuries, others might underestimate him, but don’t make the mistake of doing so just because he portrays himself as reckless,” the monk responded.

“I’ve observed him closely, and I know that he wouldn’t hesitate to pounce the moment he sees an opportunity, he’s someone who holds grudges, and if he believes he can’t defeat you, he will try to bring you down with him, I’m only trying to avoid such a situation, I promise you, we will get him, but you must follow my plan,” the monk explained to Yama before shifting his attention to Omar Khan, the vice-captain of the Vajra Academy, who nodded in response.

“ Has the Vajra Academy team chosen its next fighter?

“ The referee’s voice cut through the air as Omar began to walk toward the battle ring, holding prayer beads in his right hand, positioning them in front of his chest as if preparing for a horse stance.

“Alec Gordons, will you continue to the next round, or will you step down and allow the next fighter from your academy to take your place in the battle ring?” The referee directed the question to Alec as he noticed Omar approaching.

Though the referee was aware of Alec’s inevitable response, but he still deliberately dragged out the sentence, attempting to disturb Alec’s concentration.

“I will fight!” Alec stated without paying much attention to the referee’s gaze, as his focus was fixated on Omar.

“I present to you all the second fighter of the Vajra Academy, who will be entering the ring in the third round, please welcome the vice-captain of the Vajra Academy, Omar Khan!” proclaimed the referee, as the fans of the Vajra Academy finally found their voices back, as they erupted in cheers, eagerly anticipating their vice-captain’s arrival on the stage to teach Alec a lesson.

Silence had fallen upon them when Alec effortlessly dispatched Steele, a stark contrast to their initial boos.

This made them feel ashamed, knowing that their academy’s representative had been defeated so quickly and humiliatingly.

But seeing the vice-captain step onto the stage seems to have reignited their confidence, believing that things would be different this time.

“Bring out your weapon!” Omar demanded, his gaze fixed on Alec, however, Alec only chuckled in response.

“Weapon?

No!

You haven’t even reached the level to make me unsheathe my weapons yet, hurry up, don’t waste my time.

I still have to deal with your entire team,” Alec taunted, gesturing for Omar to come at him.

The provocation clearly affected Omar, evidenced by the bulging veins on his forehead, even though he refrained from responding to Alec verbally.
