Julian focused his gaze on the rapidly approaching Dragov, who charged toward him with astonishing speed.

The battle axe he wielded was raised high above his head, its blade shimmering with the elemental power of the wind.

Realizing he had limited options, Julian stretched out his hand and swiftly cast a defensive spell infused with light element.

As a spherical ball of light materialized around him, forming a protective barrier.

However, even this formidable defence proved insufficient to halt Dragov’s relentless onslaught.

As Dragov’s axe crashed down upon Julian, sending him hurtling towards the ground.

Selene, who had been watching the match alongside the rest of the War God Academy team, frowned and turned towards the VIP section when she got a mental message.

“I’m afraid this is where our analysis gathering ends, the Dean has asked to see the captain and the team in our quarters,” Selene announced, shocking the rest of the team.

They couldn’t understand what could be so important that it would prompt the Dean to withdraw them from watching the match.

“Can Agnes stay?, I really wish to have someone explain to me in detail who eventually emerges as the winner and how they achieve victory,” Alec requested, in which Selene nodded in agreement to his request.

After careful consideration, Agnes, Lucas, and Arthur were chosen to stay behind and watch the match.

While the remainder of the team made their way out of the arena.

While the other teams had not yet noticed the movement, the captain of the Battle Mage Academy clearly had.

He had continuously glanced towards Alec’s location, as if trying to discern what special powers the team was hiding, simply by staring at them.

It was because of his vigilant surveillance on Alec that he noticed most of the War God Academy team making their way out.

“Your sister’s team is leaving, it’s almost as if they have lost interest in the match,” Vincent commented.

“Knowing that girl, I don’t doubt she would want to leave, but Alec, on the other hand, doesn’t strike me as someone who wouldn’t stay until the end.”

“ He’s the type who likes to delve into the big picture, those who always want to have things under control are naturally curious and want to know more about their opponents,”

“Because only then would they have the utmost advantage against those they face, so something is definitely wrong somewhere” Selena explained.

Upon returning to their assigned quarters, Alec and the rest of the team noticed that someone was already waiting for them inside, despite having locked the door.

This immediately put them on edge, as Selene bravely stepped forward and entered first, only to find the Dean and two other middle-aged men standing beside him in the spacious living room.

“Dean!” Selene greeted with a slight bow of her head.

As the rest of the team followed suit, greeting the Dean respectfully.

He smiled back at them and waved his hand, signalling them to ease from their bow.

“Do you know who is responsible for the attack?” The Dean quickly cut to the motive behind his impromptu visit.

He had come to the capital because his academy team miraculously made it into the top eight, something he never expected.

Initially, he chose not to show his face at the beginning of the tournament, as he believed the team wouldn’t amount to much.

It wasn’t that he saw them as less talented, but rather because the competition for the top eight academies was fierce and almost fixed.

The academies who always take the Top eight position put all their efforts into nurturing the chosen ones who would fight for them.

And considering the background, unique spells, and powers of the chosen mages, it was clear why most of the ordinary academies had given up even before the matches started.

However, the War God Academy team had achieved something that the Dean had not expected, shocking the entire school and filling the other students back at the academy with a newfound level of happiness.

As they could now proudly boast that they attended an academy ranked in the top eight among all Mage Academies in the Northern Kingdom.

The Dean’s presence at the tournament was prompted by the fact that it would be considered rude for a dean of one of the top eight academies not to show up.

So he turned up with minimal assistance, his main intention was to encourage the team to strive further and see if they could make it into the top four.

However, upon seeing the condition of most of the team members, he was certain that they had been attacked.

As a result, he sent some of the shadow forces from the academy, which were residing in the capital, to gather basic information on what happened.

It was only when the Dean truly realized what had happened to the team that he sent a mental message to Selene, asking her to bring Alec and the rest of the team as he wished to speak with them.

“We have been unable to locate or identify one of the groups that attacked us, however, we can be certain that the second group that attacked us was the Zero clan.”

“ They showed complete disregard for the War God Academy’s reputation, as they not only attempted to kidnap Pale for their ulterior motives but also tried to eliminate Alec,” Selene reported almost instantly.

“Well, I’ve already heard a few things from a little bird, I just wanted to compare my information with what you have to say, so I don’t jump to conclusions.”

“But now that you’ve confirmed it truly is him, I suppose it’s time for me to pay that old enforcer of the Zero clan a visit and remind him of the consequences of offending the War God Mage Academy,” the Dean murmured, acting as if he were talking to himself.

Although his presence seemed intangible, but they still felt like his stature was immense.

The Dean may not have been physically tall, but the aura of his cultivation that unconsciously emanated from him was enough to exert pressure on the entire War God team.

“Now that we have that out of the way, let’s get to the good part, I know the academy hasn’t provided much support since you took on this mission to restore a little face for our academy.

So, out of my own pocket, I’ve decided to be a little generous.”

“ So boys, tell me, what do you all want?

Remember, one mage, one wish,” the Dean asked, raising his right index finger.

Alec was shocked by this unexpected turn of events, as he never anticipated the Dean appearing out of nowhere and offering gifts that the academy had never even considered giving them in the first place.
