The Golem Mage

565: Face Off.

As Damien was declared the winner, Cassandra simply relaxed her body, unlike the others who may have had unresolved feelings about losing, she showed no signs of disappointment or attitude despite the fact that she had been the one dominating the fight since the start of the match.

Taking the loss in stride, Cassandra maintained her perfectly blank expression as her great sword flashed with white light, returning to her space ring.

Without even casting a glance back at Damien, she began to calmly walk down the battle ring.

This provoked a sneer from Damien, he knew that he hadn’t won in the manner he had hoped, but defeating the formidable Cassandra without such tactics would have regardless be close impossible as he was unsure who would survive at the end.

The moment Cassandra stepped down from the battle ring, Damien swiftly summoned healing pills from his space ring.

Using his left hand, he removed the cover and consumed the pills, as the crowd witnessed the visibly rapid recovery of his right hand after he took the healing pills.

However, Damien was not satisfied with his current state.

He proceeded to drink the reserve blood he had stored inside his blood flask, determined to recover to a certain stage before the next fight.

He remained uncertain which of the Three Mages the Holy Grail Academy would send as his next challenger.

And at this moment, he acknowledged that he was not at his best due to the intense battle with Cassandra, which could potentially influence the outcome for the Bloodline Academy if Dragov was unable to defeat the remaining mages after his defeat.

It was precisely this kind of situation Damien had been striving to avoid.

He exerted his utmost effort to ensure that he would eliminate at least two or more members of the Holy Grail Academy before stepping down, aiming to minimize any adverse impact on the Bloodline Academy’s standing.

That was the extent of Damien’s faith in Dragov, but he couldn’t determine if he would be safe if the captain of the Holy Grail Academy decided to act now.

In the VIP section, discussions amongst the esteemed guests centered around the ongoing matches.

The Dean of the Bloodline Academy tried to provoke Charles, seated beside him, by stating,

“It would seem that Damien will be the one earning the point.” However, Charles remained composed and didn’t engage in any exchange of words, his focus remained on the battle ring.

Despite their numerical advantage, Charles couldn’t shake off an unsettling feeling, this unease stemmed from the fact that the heir of the Dragonmir patriarch, Dragov, had yet to step onto the stage.

Charles could only find relief once Dragov had been defeated.

Despite his strong belief in Julian’s abilities, Charles desired a more definitive victory.

After all, Dragov’s reputation in the second Dimension spoke for itself through his numerous exploits.

“You, of all people, should be aware that your student’s victory relied on cunningness and the element of surprise,” another figure in the VIP section heading out directed his words towards the Dean of the Bloodline Academy.

“I’m not undermining his tactics in securing the win, after all everything is fair in war, however, you should know that if he ever crossed paths with Cassandra in the wilds of the second Dimension, there would only be one outcome for him – death.”

When the Dean of the Bloodline Academy turned to address the speaker, he realized that the individual had already started walking away again, leaving his words hanging in the air.

“You eavesdrop on us and then think you have the right to voice your unsolicited opinion?

How rude!” The Dean of the Bloodline Academy angrily retorted, feeling the sting of the words spoken by the figure dressed in pure black attire.

Even though he could sense that Cassandra had been somewhat restrained throughout the fight, Damien had still been the one who emerged as the victor.

The Dean had intended to relish a moment of amusement at Charles’ expense after his earlier claim that his team would win.

But to him the figure’s insinuation that Damien would lose against Cassandra in the wilderness almost seemed like an accusation of him cheating in this fight.

Motivated by his irritation, the Dean sought to assert his authority by releasing a wave of golden mental pressure in an attempt to demand an apology.

However, to his surprise, his mental pressure was abruptly interrupted and shattered as another wave of mental pressure was unleashed by the figure.

A streak of silver light energy emitted from him as he turned back to gaze at the Dean, seemingly warning him.

The Dean immediately recognized the member of which clan he belonged to, evidenced by the clan insignia adorning the figure’s right-side pocket space.

“I didn’t eavesdrop on your conversation, i just happened to be leaving since there is nothing more for me to observe here.” “However, your immediate response to my opinion was to send out a wave of mental pressure, is that how the prestigious mages of the Northern Kingdom treat their guests?” the figure in black attire calmly stated.

Behind the Dean of the Bloodline Academy, there was a faint flickering image of a dragon head, as if it were about to manifest.

Additionally, behind the figure’s back, there were faint images of three distinct weapons, also flickering showing his deep level of martial skills.

This revelation confirmed for the Dean that the mage who had successfully repelled his mental pressure belonged to the esteemed Blade clan.

It seemed likely that the mage had been assigned to monitor the Blade clan’s members, and upon observing Cassandra, the only representative of the Blade clan in the current fight, he began to make his departure.

“Now, gentlemen, why don’t we put aside what just occurred and shift our focus to what truly matters—the upcoming battle,” Charles, the Vicar General of the Holy Grail Academy, proposed, effectively dissipating the brewing tension between the Dean and the departing Blade clan Mage who started leaving again.

As the Dean of the Bloodline Academy redirected his attention to the battle ring, he discerned that nearly everyone in the VIP section resonated with the sentiments expressed by the Blade clan representative.

The consensus was that Damien would not survive against Cassandra in the wilderness.

Though the Dean had yet to witness the full extent of Cassandra’s abilities, but he remained confident that Damien would not lose to her in such a hostile environment.

Damien possessed a high vitality, rendering him highly formidable as long as there were living beings with blood that he could easily eliminate, which means it would be hard to kill him.

However, if Cassandra were to possess a substantial advantage, perhaps two realms above Damien, that would present a certain death situation.

Nonetheless, the Dean held a resolute belief that these one-on-one battles wouldn’t fully expose all of Damien’s hidden strengths, as they are not allowed to use some life and death spells which are Damien’s specialty.
