“Damien really is a daredevil,” remarked one observer.

“He hasn’t even won the match against Cassandra yet, and he made plans for the next battle.”

“I don’t even know how to describe his confidence, the way he has strategized in advance clearly shows how much faith he has in himself, for a mage to possess such unwavering determination, it’s evident that he’ll go far on his cultivation journey,” another person added.

Words like these circulated among the individuals seated in the VIP section as they nodded in approval of Damien’s strategies, momentarily forgetting the fact that he had come close to losing the previous battle despite all his strategic planning played

However, it was ultimately his ability to catch Cassandra by surprise at the very end that made all the difference.

“See, this is what they mean when they say the winners write history,” reflected the Dean of the Bloodline Academy in a conversation with Charles, the Vicar General of the Holy Grail Academy.

“If the Bloodline Academy emerges victorious, they will eventually forget about everything else, they won’t remember the individual brilliance of your son, Michael, or the prodigy from the Blade clan.”

“ Their focus will solely be on the fact that the Bloodline Academy was victorious, they might even create exaggerated stories, twisting scenarios just to ensure their narrative seems believable, this is how winners shape history.”

As usual, Charles had no words to retort as the Bloodline Academy were on a winning roll thanks to Damien, so he silently watched as his second son was impaled by various blood lances and spearheaded blood chains.

“Who would have thought they would be taken down by members of the Sorin Clan?

I won’t hear the end of it when I meet that blood fiend from the Sorin Clan.”

“ He’ll undoubtedly rub it in my face that his children defeated mine,” Charles muttered to himself.

He then turned to look at the lady who had been sent by the Sorin Clan to observe the competition.

–

“Winner Damien Sorin!” The referee declared, standing before a battered Gabriel.

His back was to Gabriel, and his right palm intercepted a rotating blood lance aimed at Gabriel’s head.

“You didn’t need to step in; I could have handled it myself,” Gabriel protested, hearing the announcement of his defeat.

He believed the referee had intervened because he thought Gabriel couldn’t defend himself from the attack.

However, the red-haired referee simply craned his neck to look back at Gabriel, who was standing feebly, his body riddled with so many punctures that his academy uniform, supposedly of Tier 5 quality, appeared utterly inadequate.

“You should be thankful that I stepped in when I did, had I not acted at that precise moment, you’d be dead, but instead of showing gratitude, you’re displaying an even worse attitude,” the referee chastised.

“But don’t worry, I possess a time reversal spell that can rewind events by a few seconds, would you like to test whether your ‘hard skin’ can withstand a critical strike like that without assistance?”

The referee inquired, a smile still playing on his lips, though Gabriel now looked at him with eyes brimming with fear, convinced the referee must be a lunatic.

“No!” Gabriel exclaimed.

“Well, even if you had said yes, I wouldn’t do it, I have already declared Damien the winner to the crowd, can you imagine their reaction if they saw me trying to give you a second chance?”

“ While the Holy Grail Academy fans might still be happy, the rest of the spectators would become enraged, I cannot allow that to happen because of one sore loser.

“

“Please step out of the battle ring,” the referee firmly stated to Gabriel, who walked down the battle ring, consumed by shame.

Not only had he rushed into the battle ring, but he had also rushed back out, earning the unfortunate record for the fastest defeat—a record that was far from desirable.

“Sorry?” Gabriel murmured as he passed Marcus, who was making his way towards the battle ring.

“Never mind, we never had much faith in you after your brother went through such a defeat, while Michael may be a source of strength for you, it’s essential to understand that letting his experiences affect you is also a weakness, your brother is also your weakness”

If you don’t work on overcoming it, you might not survive if your brother leaves this world,” Marcus advised, tapping Gabriel’s left shoulder with his left hand before continuing on toward the battle ring.

“Damien Sorin, would you like to continue?” the referee asked.

“Yes!” Damien replied, his face pale, but he still managed to muster his signature smile and maintain his composure.

“The fight has reached its climax now, with both academies left with only two fighters each, it’s a battle between the vice-captains of the Bloodline Academy and the Holy Grail Academy.

Will Damien Sorin, the ever-resilient Blood Mage, prevail?

Or will it be Marcus Sanctus, the Holy Knight?” the referee took on the job of a commentator as he levitated to the air

Announcing both Vice captain, and heightening the anticipation for the intense showdown that was about to unfold.

“Give it up for the next fighter of the Holy Grail Academy, Marcus Sanctus!!!” The referee’s voice boomed through the arena as the fans erupted in cheers.

However, there was an underlying sense of fear that had gripped the supporters.

The Holy Grail Academy had gone from a position of advantage to a daunting two versus two battle against their rivals, the Bloodline Academy.

Although they held onto their faith in Marcus’s ability to win against a cunning Damien, but the final battle and which academy would remain loomed ominously.

Now, it was no longer like before, when they had the numerical advantage and could wear down Dragov, the formidable captain of the Bloodline Academy, through sheer force of numbers.
