Chapter 1380: Breakthrough and New Beginnings(11)

The fluctuations around the beast were so intense that Laney had no choice but to slow down her attack. It was all the time the beast needed to counterattack, and it did.

Even though not even a minute had passed since the taming battle began, it had already reached its last leg due to Laney forcing the Hanswan.

It immediately activated [Elemental Cataclysm]. The next moment, the fluctuation around it became even more intense since [Elemental Nexus] had also been activated before.

As the Hanswan flapped its wings, a vortex filled with the destructive intent of the five elemental energies it controlled emerged. With every flap, the vortex grew stronger.

Laney had no choice but to move further and further since the sense of danger emanating from the vortex was too intense to take a risk.

The patterns around Hanswanʼs body began to dim as the vortex grew stronger.

Laney had never expected Hanswan to take such a risk at the start of the battle, but it wasnʼt a situation where Laney felt hopeless.

Laney kept the armor active even though it placed a considerable strain on her energy, and at the same time, she activated a defensive skill.

Laney was a dual elemental user, using the rare element of gravity with the element of metal. The metal ability was from her race, while Aakesh had a primary role to play in her getting the ability to manipulate the element of gravity.

Aakesh had informed her of three items that could help her master three different elements. She was able to control gravity because she only found the item related to the element of gravity.

The armor around her body began to strengthen as a tint of gold began to cover it. When the skill was completely active, the armor around Laney looked vastly different than it had before.

If the former armor could be considered prehistoric, then the latter could be called modern technology.

These two skills were exchanged by Laney since they both complement each other.

Even though it may seem like a long time had passed, not even ten seconds had passed since Laney was forced to move back.

The Hanswanʼs pattern had completely dimmed at that time. If the attack on Laneyʼs failed to bring the result it wanted, then the beast would have lost the battle since it would no longer be able to use any energy for a period of time.

The beast launched the attack, causing nothing but destruction in its wake as it moved. It seemed to be moving at a slow rate, but it reached Laney in no time.

Laney was prepared to defend herself, but the attack struck her.

BOOM!

The next moment, a loud explosion rang in the area, shaking the ground in the range of a few hundred miles.

Thud!

The next moment, the Haswan crashed to the ground as it could no longer influence energy and its physical tiredness had reached a state where it couldnʼt even flap its wings to keep floating.

Whoosh!

At that time, Laney, who had been knocked several miles deep into the pit, pushed above, tearing through the air. The gravity manipulation helped her at that time since she was no longer in her optimal condition.

The armor around her body had several cracks spread around it, with blood seeping out of many cracks.

The Hanswanʼs eyes showed disappointment when they saw Laney approaching it. The Hanswan was a proud creature, so it wasnʼt acceptable to be bound by a contract with someone.

Unfortunately for it, its pride didnʼt help her as Laney brutally cut the beastʼs neck, ending its life. Laney didnʼt want to be brutal and kill the beast, but since it showed no interest in accepting defeat, Laney had no other option left if she wanted to win the taming battle.

As the beast died, Laney found her consciousness back inside the store. Before she could celebrate, a prickling pain hit her. She couldnʼt help but hiss in pain, even though it was her second time going through it.

Since the pain immediately disappeared, Laney didnʼt feel uncomfortable for long, and the joy of winning against the beast finally set in her mind.

A wide smile spread across her face as she looked at the glowing screen, showing the details of the contract between her and the beast.

Since the beast was of ultimate quality, only the store owner could complete the last step, so Laney pulled the beast card out and turned around to leave the room.

When Laney walked out of the room, there were a number of people already there in line, waiting for their turn to reach Aakesh. Laney wanted to buy skill cards as well, but since it wasnʼt possible to hold any product for more than an hour if unpaid, she needed to complete the last step first.

Laney joined the line and waited for her turn. After the wait of a few minutes, it was her turn. She first greeted Aakesh and then handed him the beast card.

”Big Brother, what do you think about it?” Laney respectfully asked.

Even though Laney deeply liked the beast and had already won the taming battle, if Aakesh said that he didnʼt like it, she wouldnʼt think twice before returning it. Her trust in Aakesh was on the same footing as her trust in her father.

Aakesh didnʼt simply glance at the beast that time; he took a look at the card. Since the beast she bought would be a significant power boost to her, Aakesh took it seriously.

Aakesh knew about the Hanswan race. Even though it looked like a swan, it wasnʼt a simple swan, but a mutant, as its race said on the card.

There had been only one Hanswan in existence in the Swan group, and that too died not long after its birth. The reason for it was that the original Hanswan had hexa-elemental control ability.

The sixth element it controlled was decay, and it could not complement other elements, making the beast die out due to the element of decay suddenly becoming out of control.
