Chapter 398 – (2) Reward

Chapter 398: Reward

After exiting Panagea, Aakesh appeared in the portal room. There was a change on the leaderboard; his Level had changed from 51 to 54.

”Hey, system, remove my name from the leaderboard. Let it be a table for only customer adventurers,” Aakesh told the system, seeing such a wide gap between him and the second-ranked Maria.

[Host, Are you sure?]

The system asked in its usual mechanical and emotionless voice.

Aakesh got confused, hearing the question. He didnʼt expect the system to ask for his confirmation for the removal of his name from the leaderboard since it wasnʼt something big.

”Why would you ask for my confirmation?” He asked the system to satiate his curiosity.

Host, since there is a leaderboard, similarly, it will reward the top rankers.]

[Any adventurer who retains the top rank for a week would get extra three hours of stay in Panagea.]

[Retaining for a month, six extra hours of time in Panagea; for three months, ten extra hours; and for a year, fifteen extra hours.]

The system told Aakesh the reason behind it, asking for confirmation.

”Eh!” Aakesh couldnʼt help but exclaim in surprise, hearing the system. He had no idea that he was sitting on the rewards of so many customers. If not for him taking the top rank, Evelyn must have gotten the extra three hours of stay.

”Yes, remove my name,” Aakesh told the system. There was no point in him staying there as he wasnʼt eligible for the reward, and he didnʼt even want it in the first place. ”Add the information of rewards on a board and put it next to the leaderboard,” He further suggested.

[Confirmed, Host!]

The system responded. The next moment, Aakeshʼs name disappeared from the leaderboard, and Maria took the top place, while the other adventurers on it also saw a decrease in their ranks by one.

Soon, another blue projection appeared next to the leaderboard. It showed the details of the reward for the top-ranked adventurer up to a millennium.

Aakesh nodded, seeing the change going as per his way. He then turned around and left the room.

Soon, the door of his room appeared, floating in the air. Not long after, the stairs also appeared.

Time flew by.

The stairs and the door disappeared after Aakesh stepped on the floor. He then took a step forward in the direction of the door.

After reaching the door, he grabbed the handle of the door and opened it. The sun hadnʼt completely risen, so the sky was orange. He then found a large crowd waiting for the store to open.

There were people still appearing, making the street overcrowded.

If the store were closed, the supreme card owners would teleport at the door rather than inside the store, so there were several customers teleporting even right now.

Aakesh then stepped out the way, turned around, and went to his chair while the customers entered the store. There was no hurry like in previous days since there were now enough virtual portals for everyone to join in the first group alone.

A few seconds later, the overcrowded street turned almost empty, with only six or seven other store owners going to their respective shops.

There were exact 2600 virtual portals in the portal room, while only 726 customers were in the store. Now that the store was open for business, the supreme card owners directly teleported inside the store, giving the number a boost.

Suddenly, there was large group teleportation, and with it, the number of the customers crossed the thousand mark.

The majority of the customers who had cards went to the portal room, while the group of Pento, Bislo, and others bought mental healing pills first, and then they entered the room.

The customers who couldnʼt afford the cards paid the required amount to Aakesh and then went for their time in Panagea.

A few minutes later, around half of the portals had gotten filled.

Since there were enough virtual portals, no customer went to the weapons room, making it empty for now.

Aakesh was currently alone in the store, waiting for customers to arrive.

Time flew by, and ten minutes had passed.

Groups of teleportation occurred again. It was the group of Kuriati, and not long after, his father and just a second later, Xotak, his fatherʼs most hated enemy, also spawned in the store.

Trihan, who had just spawned inside the store, was taken aback, seeing his son looking at him with a weird expression. Trihan then looked next to him and found Xotak standing there.

ʼThe fucking coincidence!ʼ Trihan couldnʼt help but angrily yell in his heart, seeing his son, him, and his teacher Xotak teleporting around the same time inside the store.

He still hadnʼt told his son about his second defeat in the hands of Xotak. He didnʼt do it because he had arrogantly proclaimed in front of Kuriati that he would defeat Xotak and make him his pet.

A worrying thought then appeared in his mind; what if Kuriati told Xotak about the proclamation Trihan had proudly made in front of him.

”Wonʼt you let me meet your son?” Xotak suddenly gloatingly asked, breaking Trihan out of his thought process. How could he miss making fun of the student he had just gotten?

A confusing expression appeared on Kuriatiʼs face. For as long as he had lived, there was one thing that was unchangeable about his chaotic father. It was the hate Trihan had for Xotak, so much so that he had even made a tattoo.

Kuriati no longer saw the tattoo on his fatherʼs body, nor did he see the hatred in his eyes when Xotak was standing next to him.

Suddenly, the memory of his fatherʼs proclamation appeared in Kuriatiʼs mind. He finally understood the reason for his fatherʼs behavior. His face turned weird, remembering the proud expression on his fatherʼs face then and the expression now.

”Kuriati, this is my teacher, Xotak…,” Trihan hurriedly introduced his son and Xotak. He didnʼt forget to give an eye to his son so that he wouldnʼt discuss the proclamation here.

”Greetings, senior,” Kuriati greeted Xotak with a slight bow.

”Since youʼre the dearest son of my student, you can also call me teacher,” Xotak nodded and told Kuriati.. He then took out a talisman from his pocket space and gave it to Kuriati as a present for their first-ever meeting.
