Chapter 355 – Infuriating

Chapter 355: Infuriating

Carla couldnʼt hold her anger and charged at the kids mocking her and making obscene gestures toward her.

She had only taken a step forward when her step suddenly came to a halt, as a blue screen out of nowhere appeared in front of her, and it took away her concentration.

[Adventurer, welcome to the town of Prideful-Ones.

The town of Prideful-Ones houses one of the top races of Panagea, Yagas. Yagas are known for their arrogance and provocative behavior across the world.

You need to control your anger when they mock you, for they are stronger than you think and can easily kill you.

Survive the mocking and provocation of the Yagas for an hour, if you want to clear your first quest.

You would gain the ability to manipulate energy if you survived without cursing the Yagas and attempting to hit them for an hour. Your reward would also increase according to your survival time, exceeding an hour.]

A dumbfounded look appeared on Carlaʼs face when she read the quest and its details.

Her eyes then fell on the kids belonging to the supposed Yagas race, continuing to mock her. She couldnʼt help but curse the system for creating such a quest.

”Sigh! Calm down,” Carla sighed and muttered to calm herself down. Since the first quest was mandatory, she had no choice but to clear it.

For a moment, the thought of failing the quest and beating the kids appeared in her head but reading the warning given by the system not to hit them if she wanted to live. She also had heard the questʼs difficulty increases exponentially after failing, so she didnʼt want to fail it.

Since Carla had read the complete content of the blue screen, it disappeared, and in place of it, a timer appeared in the form of 00:00:00, with it marking the hour, minute, and second respectively.

Carla then took several deep breaths to calm herself down before the quest began, as with the current mindset, she would surely fail it.

A few seconds later, she thought of the quest to begin. The timer also got activated right away.

Carla suddenly noticed something that if she tried to move her head, she wouldnʼt be able to as her face was frozen, she couldnʼt even blink. Except for her face, every part of her body was free.

Carlaʼs lips twitched, thinking the reason behind her face frozen at a single sight while other body parts being completely free.

”Look at the ugly lady,” One of the kids mocked her.

Carla suddenly felt an urge to beat the kid appearing in her heart. She couldnʼt help but frown as what the kid said didnʼt warrant such angry reactions from her.

She took a deep breath as she knew a single spur of a moment could change everything as every word the kids said or every gesture they made would affect her psychologically, warranting an exaggerated reaction from her.

The other kid suddenly took a stride and approached Carla, only to stop a few steps away from her.

Carla suddenly had an ominous premonition in her heart, seeing the actions of the kid.

The kid pulled his pants down and began peeing, with his pee almost touching Carlaʼs legs.

Carlaʼs lips twitched in anger, seeing the action of the kid. An urge stronger than anything to kick the kid in the nuts appeared in her heart.

She even attempted to take a step forward but stopped at the last second as then the kidʼs pee would touch her.

ʼControl! When I grow stronger, I will beat this guy to a pulp several times,ʼ Carla silently vowed in her heart. She didnʼt dare to utter these words out loud as she didnʼt want to anger these kids into killing her.

”Look, the ugly lady is watching him peeing,” The other kids commented and laughed about it.

”Sheʼs also watching my…,” The kid turned around and told his friends.

”Damn you,” Carla couldnʼt control herself and cursed the kid out loud.

Suddenly, the bounds freezing her face to a single sight disappeared. She felt as if a chain binding her for years had finally gotten unlocked, and she was now free.

Carla didnʼt care about the feeling, as the timer in front of her had turned red and then disappeared, marking her failure to persist for an hour, resulting in the failure.

Carla, who already had a lot of irritation due to the effects of the quest, finally couldnʼt control her anger. She took a step forward and kicked the kidʼs nuts.

The reaction she had expected in response didnʼt appear, as she felt her leg hitting a wall made of steel. The kid, in response, didnʼt attempt to hit Carla back, but instead, he sat down on the ground with his pants still open and began bawling like a baby.

Carla finally understood that these were kids in front of her. She couldnʼt help but feel bad for them, despite the kids being in the wrong.

The feeling of guilt didnʼt last long, as suddenly, out of nowhere, a horrible pressure appeared and attacked Carla.

Her face turned pale from fear in response as the pressure she felt at this moment even surpassed what she had felt from her angry father or the murderer of her parents.

Carla then noticed a shadow around her. She, who couldnʼt even move due to the horrible pressure, almost cried as she could sense a killing intent coming toward her from behind.

”Cry! Mom…mommy, she…she hit me here.”

Carla didnʼt have to guess who was behind her, as the kid bawling on the ground gave the introduction while crying in between.

”How dare you hit my child?”

Carla then heard an angry voice as the mother Yagas appeared in front of her.

The size difference between the Yagas mother and Carla was outrageous. Due to the pressure, Carla couldnʼt move her head, so she could only look in front of her.

The Yagas mother was so taller and bulkier than Carla that she couldnʼt even see the knee of the mother.

She only saw the hands of the mother as the hands came down and picked the bawling kid up.

The kid stopped crying right away after his mother picked him up. He then put back his pants, looked at Carla, and said, ”Mommy, bear her up. She hit me.”

”Did I hit you or hit me by hitting you?” Carla angrily thought in her heart as the pain of hitting the kid still remained in her legs.

”Letʼs hope she doesnʼt torture me,” She then further thought as her death was now certain.

Slap!

Carla, who had been frozen due to the pressure, suddenly felt her shoulder sinking as the mother slapped her.

The mother hadnʼt even used a percent of her strength as even that was enough to kill Carla several times.

Time flew by.

Carla, with a swollen body, looked at the new blue screen in front of her.

[… Survive the mocking and provocation of the Yagas for two hours, if you want to clear your first quest.

You would gain the ability to manipulate energy if you survived without cursing the Yagas and attempting to hit them for two hours. Your reward would also increase according to your survival time, exceeding two hours.]

The new quest after failing the first was still the same, but the duration of surviving had increased from one hour to two hours.

”How infuriating,” Carla thought as not very long ago, she had gotten the beating of her life.
