The First Store System

Chapter 367 – Bad-Luck

Chapter 367: Bad-Luck

Seeing the number of weapons he needed to sell to complete the quest, Aakesh couldnʼt help but smile.

At that moment, he even thought of paying people outside the store to buy the weapons so that he could complete the quest only today. But he controlled himself, as doing that was no better than throwing Primal stones in a gutter. The system would never accept such a sale.

He then thought of the screens disappearing, and the next moment, both blue windows vanished.

Time flew by.

”Finally!” Carla heaved a sigh of relief as she finally completed her first quest.

She had failed the first and second attempts and only succeeded at the third attempt when the time duration reached three hours.

Carla then looked at the Kids, who had stopped mocking her. They then turned around and returned to their play, ignoring Carla.

Soon, a blue screen appeared in front of Carla and informed her of her success in the quest.

Unfortunately, she had given up the moment her three hours were complete, so she didnʼt get any bonus reward. She only earned the original reward, initiation of power levels.

Carla was now Level 1. She had learned from the duo that if she needed to gain any more levels she needed to complete quests.

She had only taken a step forward when she had to stop, as a blue screen out of nowhere appeared in front of her.

[Adventurer, danger awaits you!

One of the kids of the Yagas race had gone missing. Since youʼre the only extra person to enter the town, the parents think youʼre the criminal.

The parents are currently on the other side of the town. It would take them thirty minutes to reach here.

Find the kid and hand it to the parents before they find you.

If you fail to find the kid in thirty minutes, youʼll face the wrath of the parents.

If you succeeded, you would gain five levels. If you succeeded with five minutes remaining, you would be eligible for the bonus reward. As your duration decreased from that point, the level and worth of your bonus reward would increase.]

”Fuck!” Carla couldnʼt help but curse out loud, reading the details of the mission.

She had just completed her first quest, and before even getting a breather, her new mission was already here.

Her anger for giving her such a quest only subsided when she saw the reward she would gain if she succeeded.

Even if she failed to get any bonus reward, she would still get an increase of five levels.

The next moment, the blue screen disappeared, and in place of it, a timer appeared, showing her the time granted to her.

Soon, the appearance of the kid and his last actions that had gone missing also appeared in her head. At that moment, she knew every little detail about the kidʼs body.

The timer then began running, announcing the start of the quest.

Carla knew she had only thirty minutes to complete the quest, so she didnʼt wait and left in the direction of the kidʼs house.

The kid Yagas and his family didnʼt live very far from where Carla was, so it only took her three minutes to reach there.

According to the information, the kid had left in the north direction of the house, and it went to the jungle.

Since three minutes had already passed, Carla didnʼt wait and directly went in the direction of the kid, praying that the kid hadnʼt faced any danger in the jungle since very strong beasts lived there.

Time flew by.

Finally, after searching for twenty-three minutes, Carla found the kid Yagas.

He wasnʼt in any danger, but he still was in an uncomfortable situation.

The kid had gotten caught in a vine and was hanging upside down.

Despite being in such a situation, the kid didnʼt ask Carla for help when the kid saw her approaching him. Instead, he mocked her when she tried to bring him down.

”Roar!”

Ignoring the mocking of the kid, Carla was trying to bring the kid down when suddenly a bloodthirsty roar rang in the area.

At that moment, Carla lost all the colors on her face. From the roar, she could sense the difference between the strength of the beast and her.

”Only youʼre my hope of surviving,” Carla muttered, looking at the kid still hanging upside down.

She knew that only the kid could defeat the beast; she had no chance.

The sound of roar got closer, and Carlaʼs hands got quicker.

It was a race for time. If Carla released the kid first, she would survive. If the beast reached her first, she would not only die and fail the quest but will have to face the wrath of the kidʼs parents even after dying.

”Hehe, weak lady, the beast is coming,” The kid mocked Carla, seeing her trying very hard to free him.

”Shut up,” Carla was already very tense due to the beast, so her mind finally snapped.

The kid, who had been laughing and mocking Carla, fell silent for a moment, hearing her reprimand. The next moment, his eyes turned watery, his mouth flew wide open, and then his crying began.

Carla ignored the bawling of the kid and attempted to undo the hold of the vine as quickly as possible. She could sense an approach toward her from behind.

”Pounce!”

The beast was the first to reach Carla. When it was a few meters away from her, it pounced at her.

”Thud!”

Right at that moment, Carla finally undid the hold of the vine, and then the kid crashed on the ground with a loud sound.

The beast attempted to change his direction as it knew the strength of the kid.

”Thud!”

Due to changing direction midway, the beast lost its balance and crashed down the ground with a loud sound.

The beast stood up right away and escaped without even daring to look behind.

Carla, on the other hand, slumped down the ground while gasping for a breath.

The last moments were tense for her and required her to give her 100%.

Time flew by.

The six-hour stay of the second group in Panagea was over, so the system forced them out depending on their entry sequence.

After all the customers had exited, Aakesh ordered the third group to enter Panagea.

A/N: What do you guys think about a mass release on the 20th of March? Depending on the responses, I would decide the number of chapters and goals. Thank you for reading!
