System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1480: Shocked

The soldiers dropped their jaws to the ground, even the ones on the airships. They simply couldn’t believe it.

What kind of existence was a superior demon? It was a demon who was as strong as a spirit grandmaster.

While the existence of spirit grandmasters was not extremely rare if they looked at the whole world, there were still fewer than 200 spirit grandmasters in the Muivell Kingdom alone. Less than 1,000 spirit grandmasters all around the world.

That cannon could obliterate one with just a single shot. No, it might even kill multiple grandmasters at the same time.

They couldn’t help but imagine what kind of horror an enemy would face upon seeing the battleship that could kill their strongest trump cards.

Anyone who challenged the Ardagan family would face annihilation.

”This is the power of the airship?”

”Insane. I don’t know what I am supposed to do when the marquis orders us to fly away.”

”If we hadn’t flown away, we would have been obliterated like our enemies.”

”This is why we’re bringing you here, newbies.” A man entered their conversation with a big grin on his face.

”Captain?!”

”Did you know about this beforehand?”

”Nope!” The captain raised one finger. ”However, I know one thing. That is your supreme commander giving you a direct order. You just have to do it instead of questioning or doubting his decision.

”Our lord is someone the world has never seen before. Even on a battlefield, he is a commander who can lead his army to face a demon army many times stronger.

”That’s why all of us captains know that the moment our supreme commander gives us an order, he must have seen something beyond what we are seeing.

”That’s our lord, the one who will become the most powerful man in the world.”

The soldiers were amazed. How could someone be so calm after seeing such a powerful cannon? However, their lord had indeed shown many impossible things possible.

With just this order, Noel had accomplished several things at once. Still, the best thing was definitely the cannon.

He had measured the power of the cannon, and it didn’t disappoint.

Although it was true that the cannon required so much spiritual energy, they simply had to bring enough demon crystals.

Noel and Anna had hunted plenty of demons. Their treasury was also filled with demon crystals since they were nobles who lived on the border of the demon territory. There were so many demons they could hunt.

In addition, the family’s wealth could simply buy the crystals required to utilize the cannon countless times.

If Noel wanted it, he could equip each battleship with this cannon and overpower their enemies, but that wasn’t cost-effective.

Now that he had tested the power, Noel shouted, ”My warriors. I hope your blood has boiled from our family’s most powerful weapon. Let us begin the extermination of the demons.”

”Ooohhh!” The soldiers’ cheers erupted. They were fired up more than ever. With such a lord behind them, they were eager to charge into the demon army, showing their prowess.

Even the soldiers on the wall clenched their weapons, thinking they wanted to fight alongside their lord as well. They finally knew why the veterans who had once followed Noel in that battle two years ago wouldn’t get bored bragging about it.

However, there was one person who wasn’t a warrior among them. That person was drenched in sweat after seeing the power of that cannon.

’What is this? What kind of power is that weapon? A rune? But from all the runes Marquis Ardagan has shown, there’s nothing like that one. The power gap is simply too big.

’Don’t tell me, this is a rune surpassing any runes that have been revealed to the world?

’Now that I think about it, there are two levels that have been shown to this world. The first one is capable of fighting low to high level demons. The second one was known to have the power of fighting peak level and superior demons.

’Even the famous first Rune Sage, Felicia, has slain a superior demon due to this rune.

’What if there’s another level of a rune? One with a power surpassing a superior demon? Don’t tell me... This is a rune that is prepared to fight against an ancient demon?

’It can obliterate all the superior demons in its way, so it wouldn’t be weird if this rune could actually harm an ancient demon.

’People have always thought that the spirit transcendence experts have to go fight against an ancient demon. Thanks to this rune, there might be no need for such experts to fight anymore.

’If this kind of rune is used against the royal family...’ The guy’s face turned pale. He could imagine this cannon blasting open their wall and destroying their castle.

’No way. There’s no way to fight against such power. Her Highness has sent me here to probe the Ardagan family’s strength, but even if all nobles in the kingdom join hands, they won’t be able to defeat the Ardagan family.

’We absolutely can’t make the Ardagan family our enemy.’

The spy felt utter defeat. No matter how he thought about it, there was simply no way to defeat Noel.

In fact, the royal family should have been grateful that Noel hadn’t used this airship the whole time.

If Noel led a rebellion using this airship, the third princess would have no choice but to offer the crown and beg Noel to take it. Fortunately, Noel didn’t have any intention of becoming the sovereign.

The spy knew how to report this incident. He had to prevent any more conflict between the royal family and the Ardagan family.

Little did he know, he would get the second surprise of the day later, which reinforced his belief in not making the Ardagan family their enemy.

After all, there were two more people who had been watching such a scene. They were far away to avoid Noel’s detection, but the power he had shown was simply too shocking.

They were none other than the supreme devil and Victor.

”Did you see that?”

”Yeah. I never thought Noel Ardagan still had this kind of trump card. I have underestimated them.”

”It looks like we have to be careful. There’s still a chance of failing.”
