Chapter 1468: Incetta’s Growth

After Anna left, Incetta couldn’t help but fall silent as though she had her own thoughts. It took her a few minutes before turning to Vivi, asking, ”What do you think?”

”I should be the one asking you. What do you think? Right now, you are the one making the decision.

”I might be your ancestor, but don’t forget that you are the living one. You are the one making the choice.” Vivi smiled.

Incetta looked down. On the one hand, this was a great opportunity. On the other hand, she didn’t want to rush it too much.

She originally thought there was much more time than this. In fact, she and Vivi had agreed that they would become spirit transcendence before the battle against the demon king, which was supposed to happen in another 12 to 18 months.

However, with the prelude right before her eyes, it would take half of that time before the main attack.

Incetta clenched her hands into fists. ”If I tell you I’m going... will you stop me?”

”No. But I want to know why you made that decision.”

Incetta looked Vivi in the eye. ”I won’t be able to reach this level without his support. To buy the weapon, to find you, and even to have the opportunity to grow.

”Even that expedition has helped a lot with my growth. That’s why I want to be his strength. It’s time for me to repay his kindness.

”Since he needs me, I want to answer that trust.”

Vivi smiled as though she had expected this. Incetta reminded her of herself from one thousand years ago.

At that time, Vivi was also grateful to Alex. The latter had saved her, helped her, and even given her the opportunity to grow. She became one of his commandants simply because she wanted to repay that kindness.

That was why Vivi could say, ”In that case, just do it. If you have made up your mind, you just have to do it. However, I will ask you one thing. If you choose this path, you have to see it through.

”The battle this time will go beyond anyone’s imagination. Just like we’re preparing for their invasion, they’re also learning from their mistakes and preparing an even bigger invasion than the one back then.

”If you do this half-heartedly, it will be the greatest disrespect you can give to someone.”

Incetta closed her eyes for a moment before nodding firmly, as though she had made up her mind. ”I understand. I will go. It’s fine if I die in the process. I would rather die with honor than live with disgrace.”

”Great.” Vivi looked satisfied. ”In that case, I do have a method that allows you to reach the required strength without forsaking your future.”

”You have?” Incetta was dumbfounded. If she had known this from the start, she would have said it. Incetta ended up panicking more than necessary.

”I want to test you. No matter what, you are still so young. You are still finding out about yourself, so your personality might change.

”Now that I have seen your resolve, I don’t mind helping you.” Vivi raised two fingers. ”You just need to answer two questions from me.”

”I understand.”

”First question. As the navy commander of the Ardagan family, how do you view this attack?”

”Mhmm...” Vivi’s question made Incetta fall deep in thought. ”To be honest, this attack might just be a distraction. They must have a clear goal in their minds, which is unknown to us for now.

”However, if the enemy loses more and more demons, this will result in a weakened main attack, especially if we factor in our own capability. Hence, they will do their best to maintain their numbers as much as possible, especially the superior demons and the ancient demons.

”Still, there is one fact we have to consider. Lord Noel is a clever man. As long as he is with us, I doubt we will fall. In fact, it will only result in higher morale. That’s how much we admire our lord.

”In other words, this attack must separate Lord Noel from us. That’s probably why Madam Anna asked me to grow stronger. She might have expected that we would have no choice but to be separated.

”Our enemies might have been wary of our spirit transcendence. Since I need to become a spirit transcendence, one of our spirit transcendences must have been compromised. I don’t know how they do it, but I don’t think they’ve killed one of them.

”That’s why if I become a spirit transcendence, I can become a hidden card that will fight those people who are aiming for the true target.

”Meanwhile, Madam Anna and the others will be falling into the enemy’s trick and making them think everything has gone according to their plan.”

Vivi nodded, satisfied. Incetta’s growth had been exceptional, including her own perception.

”Then the second question.” Vivi grinned. ”What are you supposed to do now?”

”I definitely need to become a spirit transcendence.” Incetta answered without hesitation.

”That’s half-correct. Pay attention to my first question.”

”!!!” Incetta immediately noticed what she wanted. Vivi asked her, who was the navy commander. She should have answered her question as the Ardagan family’s commander.

”My apologies. I haven’t thought about it clearly.” Incetta shook her head, admitting her mistake. ”Still, it doesn’t change the fact that I need to become a spirit transcendence. However, I believe I need to make some preparations for the river. Right now, the Golden Dawn City is isolated due to the river in the west. In other words, we will have a hard time bringing in reinforcements.

”Right now, Lord Noel is creating a massive fortress by forming multiple cities into a single defense formation. And that defense formation relies on logistics and transportation.

”Hence, I have to focus on the river. They must be planning something, including the dam. If not, that’s good, but it also means the next attack will definitely be aimed at them. Making early preparations is still good.”

”Hehe. As expected of someone I chose.” Vivi had a big smile on her face, convinced. ”All right. You’ve passed my test. I will help you now. Ready to suffer for the next few days.”

”Yes!”
