Chapter 1467: Anna’s Preparation

Laufey returned to the Ardagan family, finding Melissa and the two guests hadn’t returned as though they were honoring the promises.

”Looks like you have made a decision.” Melissa squinted her eyes.

”Yes. My apologies for making the three esteemed guests wait.” Laufey politely lowered his head. ”If it’s not too much to ask, may I know the two esteemed guests’ titles?”

”!!!” The two robed people exchanged glances. Laufey alone shouldn’t know this, so it looked like it was Noel’s order.

After thinking for a moment, they decided to give their respective titles.

”Venom Overlord.”

”Vampire.”

”I have definitely received your titles. Thank you very much.” Laufey nodded politely. ”In that case, allow me to pass on the messages from my lord.”

Laufey told them about the two messages. They couldn’t help but furrow their eyebrows when they heard the first message.

They had been helping Noel, so they thought Noel would be helping them. However, they understood everything once the second message arrived.

It turned out the situation was much more perilous than they had originally thought. It was no wonder Noel was so concerned, to the point where he couldn’t lend a helping hand.

Then again, their Beast Kingdom had seven spirit transcendence rank experts. They should be able to solve everything themselves. This time, they came to bring back Melissa simply because there was a job no one other than Melissa could do.

If not for this, they would continue to leave Melissa in Noel’s care.

After understanding the problem, the Venom Overlord couldn’t help but say, ”It looks like we have to speed up our plan as well.”

”You mean that?” Vampire raised his eyebrows.

”Yeah. It can’t be helped.” The Venom Overlord nodded before turning to Laufey. ”Tell your lord this. We will still fight alongside you. Since this time we’re the bait, please make sure they suffer a lot. You don’t have to worry about us.

”Regarding the message, we’ll send the confirmation as soon as the situation allows us. As you already know, the situation is extremely dangerous. If we recklessly send a messenger, they might target them instead.

”That’s why we will have to act carefully. However, that messenger will definitely come. Even if there’s no one else among us, I, Venom Overlord, will definitely send that message even if it means dragging my dead body to this place.”

Laufey lowered his head politely. ”Thank you very much. I shall relay your message to the family head.”

Venom Overlord then nodded to the other two. ”Let’s take our leave.”

Laufey guided them outside as they used their speed to leave the city without getting spotted by anyone.

...

Inside the Ardagan family’s mansion.

Anna was meditating the whole time. Lightning sparked around her body. She was holding her sword in front of her, the tip had planted itself inside the wood due to how much time had passed ever since she began her meditation.

Once she felt the three presences disappear from the city, Anna couldn’t help but open her eyes.

”It looks like they have returned.” Anna muttered. ”Something must have happened in the Beast Kingdom. However, Noel must have thought about something.

”My heart has grown uneasy this whole time. It looks like whatever they’re planning next will go beyond what they have prepared during the succession battle.

”Do we have enough people? Should I invite another expert? Considering the situation, it would be good to ask Layla for help.

”But our movement must be monitored closely by the enemy...”

Anna fell deep in thought before remembering something. ”There’s indeed someone who has that kind of potential.”

Although it was time for her training, she had no choice but to visit that person.

...

A few minutes later.

Anna was standing in front of the person she thought was capable of changing the tide. Although she didn’t know how much she would prove herself in this battle, she definitely had enough strength to make an impact.

Anna asked, ”Incetta. Can you become a spirit transcendence right now?”

Yes, the one in front of him was Incetta. Incetta was probably the only person who could become a spirit transcendence soon.

She did reject the opportunity from Noel regarding the spirit transcendence path together with his mother, Layla, Dimitri, and Milfa.

That was because Vivi deemed that Incetta’s talent was strong enough to go on her own path. As long as Vivi accompanied her, Incetta could become a spirit transcendence sooner or later.

Although she didn’t know how much Incetta would grow in the future, she didn’t want to cut off her chance to become a spirit king even though she herself didn’t know the path to become a spirit king.

So, when Anna asked this, both Incetta and Vivi were confused.

”Pardon?” Incetta frowned.

”The enemy has begun to move. Noel might have some idea, but I don’t have any idea what they’re planning to do right now. However, it’s certain their initial attack will be related to the Beast Kingdom.

”My heart has grown uneasy this whole time. They must be planning something big right now. So, I need to increase our card for assurance.”

”I see. So, you want me to become a spirit transcendence as an assurance?”

Anna nodded. ”If it’s too much for you, it’s fine to reject me. I will seek another solution, such as my mother-in-law.”

Incetta thought for a moment. Even Vivi considered the problem carefully. The situation might be more dangerous than they originally thought.

Vivi whispered something to Incetta. The latter weighed the pros and cons. After a whole minute, Incetta replied, ”I don’t know if I’m suitable for this. However, there’s a chance I will be useful in this battle.

”It’s just... I need to make my own preparations. I’m planning to go to the demon territory right now. I don’t know how long I do need and how much time we have left.”

”I see. In that case, you should go. If it’s not possible, return immediately. The enemy will definitely come from the demon territory in large numbers. That’s the only way to make a distraction, so you must be able to find it as well when roaming in the demon territory.”

”Understood.”
