Chapter 1543: Chapter 9: Elemental Explosion

Besides Su Xiao, there were three people in the council hall. Not far from the door stood a guard in golden armor, and on the innermost throne sat a man with long black hair, about 40 years old. His hair was tousled, and despite wearing a luxurious robe, he gave off a rugged impression.

On the side seat below the throne sat a woman in a black robe, her witch hat pressed low, making it impossible to see her eyes, but judging from her tightly pursed thin lips, she was very angry.

Seeing the King seated on the throne, Su Xiao suddenly recalled the Old King of the World of Xiya. This thought quickly vanished, as their stature wasn’t on the same level; Su Xiao’s main reason for not daring to forcefully enter the Royal Palace in the World of Xiya wasn’t because of the guard but due to fear of the Old Lion.

Su Xiao stepped into the council hall slowly. Apart from his footsteps, the hall was deathly silent.

”King’s Guard!”

Seeing Su Xiao advance, the guard in golden armor roared angrily.

Bang!

A twisted corpse was thrown into the council hall, covered in blood. A Mu blocked the doorway, drenched in enemy blood, having slaughtered all the King’s Guards.

”My lord...”

The armor-clad guard grabbed the hilt of his sword. Lundorf, sitting on the throne, raised his hand signaling him not to act recklessly, clearly indicating he didn’t want to be used as a pawn by Witch Isa.

”Sir, there might be some misunderstanding between us...”

Clang!

The blade aura gleamed, and a slash appeared on the guard’s neck, who clutched his throat, staggered backward, and soon lay motionless.

Lundorf stopped mid-sentence because a long knife was already at his throat.

”Calm down. No matter how strong you are, assassinating a Lord carries unimaginable consequences, including a bounty from the Holy Healing Church...”

Splurt.

The long knife cut through, and Lundorf was noticeably stunned.

”How dare you...”

Darkness enveloped Lundorf. He couldn’t comprehend how Su Xiao dared to slaughter him.

This was Lundorf’s fixed mindset. In Su Xiao’s eyes, since he had already breached the Royal Palace, resolving Lundorf was the priority over Isa, either eradicate enemies or face none.

Su Xiao turned his gaze towards Isa, who remained calm and seated.

”Is she dead?”

Isa spoke, raising her head towards Su Xiao, her crimson pupils showing no emotional fluctuation.

”...”

Su Xiao pushed Lundorf’s corpse aside, walking down the throne steps slowly.

”Why...”

Isa stood up.

”Why just the two of us? Did we sell your relatives?”

Chased till now, Isa still didn’t understand the cause. Su Xiao was finding the Blade Demon Sealing Device, while Ai Seya refused to disclose any information about Death Land.

Given Ai Seya’s cunning, if Death Land wasn’t in her personal interest, she wouldn’t keep this secret. With Su Xiao paying a high price to enter the Dark Raven World, there was no way he’d give up; thus, hostility was inevitable between the two.

”At least tell me the reason.”

Isa took off the witch hat, revealing smooth flaxen hair. Though her features weren’t delicate, she exuded a unique charisma.

”Where is Death Land?”

Su Xiao stopped, standing about ten meters from Isa, sufficient distance.

”I see.”

Isa finally comprehended, with anger replaced by pure killing intent.

”Just a mortal.”

As Isa finished speaking, a transparent apparition appeared behind her with horns and wings, radiating a blazing orange light. The intense heat spread.

This was Isa’s Flaming Avatar, not resembling her original appearance, echoing a saying on the Dark Raven Continent: if the clone resembles the witch, just flee.

Fire elements gathered around the clone at an incredible pace, draining the surrounding half-kilometer entirely, an act no mage would dare.

Isa’s hair turned fire-red, moving as if aflame, raising her right arm, a flame emerged in her hand linked to countless invisible elemental lines, one end in Isa’s hand, the other connected to the avatar.

Boom!

The marble under Su Xiao’s feet shattered, as he charged forward, slashing blade auras, pushing towards Isa’s real body; defeating the witch meant conquering her body.

Isa looked surprised seeing Su Xiao charge directly at her, flame rising from her hand, two massive flame claws emerged behind her, attacking Su Xiao from both sides.

Fighting a witch for the first time, Su Xiao naturally avoided enduring the first assault.

The Blue Steel Shadow Energy clung to Dragon Slash, Su Xiao halted abruptly, muscle bulged in his right arm, slashing the right approaching flame claw.

With a dull sound, the gigantic flame claw split apart, becoming dense fire elements, akin to magic types, shattered by Dragon Slash energized by Blue Steel Shadows.

Seeing the flame claw destroyed, Isa’s lips curled up instead of retreating, tightening her grip, the fire elements converging swiftly on Su Xiao, intensifying, the orange light became blindingly bright.

Boom!

Fire elements exploded terrifyingly; just the shockwave cracked the council hall’s walls, let alone the epicenter’s force.

The orange flame gradually dispersed, leaving a cylindrical pit with a 10-meter diameter, over 30-meter depth full of lava, blowing throughout the Royal Palace top to bottom.

”Huh~”

Isa exhaled steaming breath, flame-like patterns appeared on her cheeks.

”Unexpected power.”

A soft murmuring voice reached, hearing it, Isa’s pupils shrank instantly, shifting focus to Su Xiao, now in her view, unscathed.

During the elemental explosion, Su Xiao used Dragon Shadow Flash ability for spatial movement over 12 meters.

Understanding the witch’s combat effectiveness after the blast, caught in the epicenter would spell a dire outcome for Su Xiao. Isa wasn’t yet considered an overwhelmingly powerful witch, ranking moderately above-average.

”Manifestation.”

Isa clasped her hands together, her fiery hair billowing, the avatar behind her intensified visibly, reaching near-solid appearance.

Heat waves spread, a three-meter-tall figure stood behind Isa, closely resembling a Fire Demon, with orange skin, especially highlighting its wings.

The flaming avatar shielded Isa, its eyes opened, appearing fiery holes.

”Roar!!”

The flaming avatar roared furiously, sending sound waves, even making Isa turn her head.

”Kill him.”

Isa pointed her slender finger at Su Xiao, hearing her command, Su Xiao seemed surprised; a witch and a manifested avatar separately conscious posed quite the challenge.
