Chapter 1537: Chapter 3: A Witch Unlike Imagination

After organizing his thoughts, Su Xiao decided to start exploring this world. His purpose was clear: find a witch and inquire about the news of the ’Death Land’ from her, which is where the Blade Demon Sealing Device is located.

If inquiry doesn’t work, then force her; if that fails, then interrogate. Start with diplomacy, and if that doesn’t work, then slash.

Su Xiao pushed open the dilapidated door of the stone house, and rainwater splashed into the room.

Boom!

A clap of thunder, darkness outside the room, it was around midnight, close to 12 a.m.

The Eye of the Apostle floated out from Su Xiao’s sleeve, observing the Human Assembly Area from above, known as such because it was the territory of a certain witch.

Based on feedback from the Eye of the Apostle, Su Xiao discovered that it was actually a large city built within towering walls, with stone slabs laid on the streets and every house’s door tightly shut, no one in sight on the streets.

Whether it’s an assembly area or a kingdom, they are merely large cities; a few neighboring cities could be called a kingdom. As for the throne, one can simply self-declare if they have enough force.

According to the findings by a Prophecy Witch traveling the Dark Raven Continent, there are at least hundreds of kings, all acknowledged by other kings. As for those self-appointed, there are more.

If a family lives in the wilderness, the male master can also self-declare as king, the surrounding land his territory. Of course, apart from his wife and children, no one would acknowledge him.

This seems laughable? Not really. When this farmer marries his daughter, she equals a princess. Though not prestigious, some small nobles are willing to gain such face; marrying a princess sounds impressive.

Dirty water rushed through the streets; the city had no sewage system, so every rain was a city clean.

Su Xiao didn’t want to step into the suspicious-looking dirty water; he already had a target. According to the Eye of the Apostle’s detection, there’s a tall building in the city center, likely the witch’s residence; she rules the city.

”Bu Bu, go scout the situation over there. Bennie, Bennie?”

Su Xiao glanced around, Bennie was nowhere to be found, leaving only a note behind: ”Don’t miss me, I’m a child of nature!”

Su Xiao tossed aside the note, looking at Bubu Wang: ”Did you teach her?”

Bubu Wang gave a mischievous grin, meaning: ”Guess, master?”

”Indeed, sometimes silliness is contagious.”

Su Xiao recalled Bennie’s cold expression in the War World, and now...

”Stop teaching her those things; she needs to be smart when treasure hunting.”

Listening to Su Xiao, Bubu Wang spread his paws, meaning: ’I’ll do my best.’

Bubu Wang dashed into the rain, disappearing after a few leaps, on its way to scout the witch’s residence.

About half an hour later, news came from Bubu Wang, roughly: ’The situation is a bit strange; best you see for yourself, Master.’

Bubu Wang saying that basically meant there was no danger. Su Xiao pulled out the hood built into the Lan Kai Windcoat, put it on, and stepped into the rain, A Mu following closely behind. It was straightforward and loyal; whoever Su Xiao wanted dead, it simply killed, that simple and loyal.

Quickly moving through the cold rain, Su Xiao soon arrived under the rounded building at the city center. The building was somewhat akin to a small castle, about twenty meters high.

Su Xiao leapt up, fingers hooking onto protrusions on the building’s outer layer, quickly climbing to the upper level.

Based on Bubu Wang’s intel, the witch was resting on the fifth layer of the castle. Su Xiao opened a glass window, jumping into a dark corridor.

Su Xiao surveyed the corridor, finding no traps; he stepped to a metal door halfway along, pushing the door ajar, a faint scent wafting out.

Smelling this fragrance, Su Xiao frowned; the scent had a potent aphrodisiac effect. Realizing this, Su Xiao took out a test tube, drank half, then tossed the remaining half to A Mu. A Mu swallowed the test tube whole, crushing it like candy. As soon as the glass entered its stomach, it decomposed.

Through the door gap, Su Xiao saw gauze fluttering in the night wind. Behind the gauze, a scantily clad voluptuous woman was sensually exploring...

Su Xiao paused for a moment, his first thought being, is this the witch? Seems somewhat...

Peeping isn’t a good thing, so Su Xiao simply pushed the door open. The witch appeared lost in self-exploration, unaware of the door opening.

Knock, knock, knock.

Su Xiao knocked on the metal door. The woman on the bed quickly pulled the blanket over herself.

”Who!”

The witch on the bed bellowed, eyes fixed on the door.

”Visiting in the dead of night, my apologies.”

Su Xiao walked into the witch’s bedroom, rain dripping from his cuffs. The room was at least a hundred square meters, with furnishings preventing it from feeling empty.

Next to the witch’s headboard, an iron incense burner slowly emitted blue smoke. This burner, roughly the size of a fist, released the strong aphrodisiac scent Su Xiao had smelled.

Su Xiao was sure the witch wasn’t using this to satisfy herself; her earlier behavior clearly aimed at suppressing her inner desires. With her status, finding a handsome young man would be easy, yet she hadn’t.

”Apologies? If you... knew apologies, you wouldn’t... stand like this... before a lady’s bed.”

The witch’s voice was full of allure, yet her words stumbled repeatedly, spoken in slow, gentle tones.

The witch sensed Su Xiao’s ill intent, or rather, she felt Su Xiao’s dense blood aura.

”Do you know... the price of... offending me.”

The witch slowly sat up, her silky garment slipping some, revealing a large expanse of fair skin.

”Since that’s the case, then let’s negotiate another way.”

Su Xiao drew out Dragon Slash from his waist, blue steel shadow energy coursing along the blade; his aura grew sharp, even fine slash marks appeared on the floor.

Su Xiao’s action of drawing his sword clearly surprised the witch. She suppressed the panic in her eyes, slowly stood, standing on the bed, looking down at Su Xiao.

”You, have no, right, to fight, me.”

Boom!

Blood energy spread, Su Xiao’s body hunched, the long knife in his hand emitting a crisp sound, the first slash aimed at her waist, striving to leave her alive.

Cold sweat instantly seeped from the witch’s spine; her composed tone merely masked her identity as a Prophecy Witch. Only High-Tier Prophecy Witches had prophecy abilities.

”Combat is a barbaric behavior.”

The witch appeared ’unhappy,’ raising her arm, a ball of purple flame appeared in her palm. Oddly, the flame emitted no heat.

Su Xiao wasn’t familiar with the witch’s abilities, thus he didn’t hold back. If alive, fine; if not, he’d find other methods.

Crack, crack...

Cracks appeared on the floor beneath Su Xiao, a sign he was preparing to lunge.

”Please don’t hurt me, I’m the White Witch.”

Just as Su Xiao was about to strike, the witch surrendered, her tone no longer stammering, much more ear-pleasing. Su Xiao paused in mid-lunge, a shower of stones flew from the floor.

Whiz~

A stone flew to the witch’s front; she quickly crouched to dodge.

Bam!

Debris penetrated the wall, leaving a hole.

Su Xiao looked at the witch not far away, perplexed. The woman was now crouching on the bed, hugging her head, occasionally stealing glances at Su Xiao, quite cowardly.

The long knife rested at the witch’s neck; this was Su Xiao’s way of negotiating, ignoring Charm Attributes.
