Not Being a Trainer This Time

Naoki didn’t just listen to Kiawe’s one-sided words; he carefully searched online and found that indeed, in the Alola Region, shops are allowed to hire child labor.

”That works too.” Naoki thought things over and believed Kiawe wasn’t a bad choice. At least he knew him, and Kiawe had a good personality: ”But I need to have a trial period first. If you can meet my requirements, then I can hire you.”

”No problem!” Kiawe agreed on the spot.

”Then you should head back quickly. I’ll be here tomorrow, and I’ll arrange your work then.” Naoki looked at the now-empty package on Kiawe’s back and said.

”Okay!”

Having found a new part-time job, Kiawe was very happy. He took out a Poke Ball and released a Charizard, then mounted it.

However, just as Kiawe was about to leave, Naoki called out to him again.

”One more thing!”

Kiawe turned his head back.

Seizing the opportunity to clarify things, Naoki asked:

”By the way, Kiawe, do you know how to get a Z Ring and Z Crystal? I’m very interested in the Alola Region’s Z-Moves, so I want to know more.”

”Eh?” Kiawe was a bit surprised.

”Is this some kind of secret of the Alola Region?” Naoki asked deliberately.

Kiawe immediately shook his head: ”No, Trainers from other regions can also obtain Z Rings and Z Crystals!”

”Usually, the King of the Island and the Guardian God of each island will give these items to Trainers they acknowledge.”

”Additionally, outsiders can participate in the unique large event of the Alola Region, the Island Pilgrimage. When participating in the pilgrimage, there is also an opportunity to obtain a Z Ring and Z Crystal from the Totem Pokemon at the trial sites.”

Upon hearing this, Naoki nodded thoughtfully.

He doesn’t know the King of the Island, and he hasn’t met the Guardian God family of Tapus yet. In this situation, he can only focus on the Island Pilgrimage.

”Can someone like me also participate in the Island Pilgrimage?” Naoki asked.

”It’s possible but...,” Kiawe looked a bit troubled: ”But outsiders need to obtain a Proof of the Pilgrimage to the Islands in order to qualify for participation.”

”Usually, the King of the Island will issue this proof, but that’s usually only for Alolans. It is very difficult for outsiders to get it...”

Hearing this, Naoki felt a heaviness in his heart: ”Is it very difficult?”

Kiawe seriously nodded: ”Yes, outsiders need to register for the competition at the Royal Dome and only by becoming the Champion can they obtain the Proof of the Pilgrimage to the Islands.”

But Mr. Naoki is a Rancher, so he probably is not skilled at Pokemon battles and isn’t on the same level as those experienced professional Trainers in the Royal Dome...

Especially the Royal Masked Man and avenger types in the Royal Dome, who are all quite famous and have defeated countless challengers who came to the Royal Dome.

”...”

One second, Naoki’s heart was feeling heavy, but hearing this, he suddenly didn’t know what to say.

He thought it would be more difficult... Looks like Kiawe has mistaken him for an ordinary Rancher?

”I understand, thank you very much, Kiawe.” Naoki expressed his gratitude.

At this moment, Kiawe’s Rotom Phone rang.

Kiawe answered it, and a girl who looked a lot like Kiawe appeared on the screen.

”Brother, are you still not back? Another new customer just called to order MooMoo Fresh Milk!” The girl urged.

”I got it, I’ll head back now. You wait for me at home, Mimo!” Full of affection, Kiawe climbed back onto Charizard, waved goodbye to Naoki, and quickly left the ranch.

In the sky, Kiawe happily shared his recent encounter with his sister.

”Mimo, it was that gentleman just now who bought that ranch. But he said he won’t be staying here long-term, only coming here to live for a while every winter!”

To obtain a Z Ring, you need to do the Island Pilgrimage. To do the Island Pilgrimage, you need to get the Proof of the Pilgrimage to the Islands. To get the proof, you need to win the championship at the Royal Dome.

Geez, it’s really convoluted!

Naoki returned to his room, where Koraidon and Eevee had all finished lunch.

A group of Pokemon ran to the ranch to familiarize themselves with the environment, while Naoki went to wash the dishes.

Once everything was put away, he sat on the sofa and used his Rotom Phone to search for information about [Royal Dome].

[Royal Dome: Located on Royal Avenue on Akala Island, it’s the battleground for Royal Battles. In Royal Battles, four Trainers make up individual teams and battle in a 1-on-1-on-1-on-1 format.

It’s said that the four Guardian Gods of the Alola Region once used this battle format to decide the strongest among them.]

”Four-way melee...,” Naoki murmured.

Amidst the chaos, the victor is king. This battle rule is indeed quite a traditional Alola Region feature.

In Royal Battles, each Trainer can only use one Pokemon, and the battle ends when three of the four Pokemon lose their battle capability.

Naoki began searching for registration information for the competition.

During the process, he also saw the star contestant of the Royal Dome, the Royal Masked Man.

It was a candid shot,

Wearing a mask, with his upper body bare, revealing his strong muscles, the Royal Masked Man was sitting on a resting chair talking to his Incineroar.
