Not Being a Trainer This Time

It ran away?

Naoki hurriedly stepped forward, pushing aside the grass, trying to look for that Pikachu’s tracks.

But never mind Pikachu, he didn’t even see a single strand of Pikachu fur; he had no idea where it had gone.

It ran so fast...

Naoki could only bring Koraidon back up to the cliff, where he stood and gazed out at the blue sea and the distant horizon.

Waves rippled across the surface of the sea, and surge after surge of white surf crashed ceaselessly against the reefs below.

The seascape here was indeed very beautiful.

As the image of that flying Pikachu from just now surfaced in his mind, Naoki suddenly became very curious about how it had come up with that way of flying, and what exactly it was flying for.

You know, even Groudon hasn’t learned this skill.

Pikachu as a kind of Pokemon has many special individuals.

Besides Ash’s Pikachu, there are Partner Pikachu, Surfing Pikachu, Rock Star Pikachu, Hat Pikachu, Madame Pikachu, Masked Wrestler Pikachu and all sorts of other Pikachu.

But compared to all those Pikachu, this flying Pikachu was clearly much more special.

Because it could actually combine Moves on its own, comprehending a brand-new combo technique, breaking through the limit of Pikachu as a non-flying Pokemon, and successfully soaring into the sky!

It’s just that flying by this method was extremely damaging to the body.

The image of that battered and scarred Pikachu came to mind; he had no idea how many times it had failed before it finally completed this combo.

Granted, his Pawmot could do it too, but that was achieved by eating carefully made dishes...

Whereas this Pikachu had relied entirely on its own efforts; there wasn’t even a Trainer by its side guiding it.

Without a doubt, it was a very self-disciplined Pikachu, strong-willed by nature, and used to training itself.

Interesting!

Naoki felt a surge of curiosity toward this Pikachu; he wanted to observe it further, so he called on Koraidon to help search for it nearby.

”Koraidon, help me look for that Pikachu around here. If you find it, don’t rush to get close; I want to observe its living habits!” Naoki said.

”Aa-gaa-ss...” Koraidon’s face showed a puzzled expression, but it still nodded and agreed: ”Aa-gaa-ss!”

And so, one human and one Pokemon began searching the area for traces of that Pikachu.

Time ticked by second after second; during this period, two wild Pokemon helped Naoki find the stakes that were Imprisoning Wo-Chien.

Naoki took a moment to pull out those two stakes, then continued searching.

Yet even by the time the last two stakes were removed, he still hadn’t found any sign of that Pikachu.

Naoki: ”...”

Beside him, Koraidon shook its head helplessly: ”Aa-gaa-ss...”

Forget it, capturing Wo-Chien comes first!

Now that Wo-Chien’s final seal had also been undone, if they didn’t hurry over and capture it, Wo-Chien would break through the Imprison, suck away the nutrients from the surrounding vegetation, and turn this land barren.

”Koraidon, head to that shrine from before!”

”Aa-gaa-ss!”

Koraidon took off straight from where it stood.

It was very fast; in just a few breaths it had brought Naoki to the Grasswither Shrin.

The black chains coiling over the shrine’s doors had all vanished.

At this moment the shrine’s doors were half open, and a Pokemon whose appearance resembled a snail, its body covered in withered yellow leaves and book scrolls coiled across its back, was trying to squeeze out through the gap.

As it appeared, all the plants around them withered away, turning a dry yellow.

Wo-Chien was continuously absorbing the energy of the vegetation!

Seeing this scene, Naoki gave the order: ”Koraidon, stop it, use Flamethrower!”

”Aa-gaa-ss!”

Scarlet flames spewed from Koraidon’s mouth, forming a blazing beam of fire that shot toward Wo-Chien.

In an instant, a pillar of flame erupted below.

The scorching fire swallowed Wo-Chien completely.

A hoarse Growl came from below, and right after that, two vines still wreathed in flame shot out of the inferno at high speed, lunging toward Koraidon.

Koraidon quickly leaned to the side, neatly dodging them.

And just then, a jet-black pillar of light surged up from below.

The surrounding flames were all snuffed out by that beam radiating with surging malice.

Within the light, Wo-Chien’s entire body became shrouded in a destructive aura, and countless strands of the Power of Calamity surged wildly from its body.

Naoki recognized that Move at a glance.

That was Ruination!

The exclusive Move mastered only by the four Treasures of Ruin!

”Koraidon, Collision Course!”

As he spoke, Naoki jumped straight down from Koraidon’s back and landed steadily on the Ground.

Koraidon, for its part, tacitly shifted forms as it charged headlong toward Wo-Chien.

”Boom!”

A tremendous explosion rang out, and the shockwave from the battle between the two Pokemon turned into a fierce gale that swept in all directions.

A moment later, everything returned to silence.

In front of the Grasswither Shrin, Wo-Chien was lying there covered in wounds, clearly having lost the ability to fight.

”Nice work!”

Naoki and Koraidon shared a high-five, then Naoki took a Poke Ball from his pocket and threw it at Wo-Chien.

”Click!”

The Poke Ball sprang open on its own, and Wo-Chien’s body turned into a beam of white light that was drawn inside.

Once, twice...

The Poke Ball stopped shaking.

That meant the capture was successful!

Naoki walked up and picked it up; with this, only the last of the four calamities, Chien-Pao, remained!
