Not Being a Trainer This Time

Naoki spoke with a constant smile on his face.

For some reason, some students at Paldea Academy always found Mr. Naoki’s smile a bit unsettling.

But no matter how hard they thought, they couldn’t pinpoint the exact reason.

At this moment, Raifort spoke up: ”Alright, Naoki is our guest at the academy today, and I’m going to take him for a tour of our campus.”

Hearing this, the onlooking students nodded and, after bidding farewell to Naoki, gradually dispersed.

The two continued to walk within Paldea Academy.

Looking at the cheerful students around them, Raifort couldn’t help but say:

”Ah, aren’t these kids adorable? Speaking of which, that’s one of the reasons I stayed here!”

Naoki looked at her skeptically: ”Didn’t you come here to investigate the historical legends of the Paldea Kingdom?”

Raifort chuckled: ”That’s one of the reasons too! However, now that the true appearance of the four Treasures of Ruin has been revealed, I don’t have much else to do, so I’ve decided to stay here as a teacher.”

Naoki nodded: ”That’s nice.”

”Oh, I almost forgot!” Raifort suddenly said: ”Lately, there’s been news of an underwater ruin discovered in the Unova Region, said to have yielded many ancient treasures. I’m quite interested in it; maybe I’ll go there for research sometime!”

Underwater ruin?

Naoki was slightly taken aback, and a line immediately flashed in his mind—Giovanni’s Hurricane Plan!

Currently, Ash’s storyline is advancing to the Sinnoh Region, and by next year, Team Rocket will start invading the Unova Region.

At that time, Giovanni will execute the Hurricane Plan there, using Meloetta to obtain the Reveal Glass from the underwater ruins.

With it, he plans to control the three cloud gods of the Unova Region, transforming them into their Therian Forms to help Team Rocket conquer the region.

Of course, in the end, this plan is thwarted by Ash and Pikachu together.

Thinking of this, Naoki said, ”I wish you all the best!”

”Thank you for your kind words!” Raifort smiled.

The two continued on, and under Raifort’s guidance, Naoki met many familiar faces.

There was Tyme, the math teacher, Jacq, the biology teacher, Hassel, the art teacher, and Miriam, the academy’s nurse, among others.

Although Naoki knew them, these people did not know him.

After Raifort introduced them, Naoki greeted these teachers briefly before everyone went about their own business.

Additionally, Naoki received a piece of news from Raifort.

That is, the current principal of Paldea Academy is Harrington, not Clavell, whom he knows.

This means that the ”Starfall Street” incident hasn’t occurred yet, and Harrington has not resigned in disgrace.

With him not resigning, Clavell wouldn’t take office.

As for Nemona, Penny, Arven, and Chloe, at this point in time, only Arven has enrolled in Paldea Academy.

The others may still have a few years before enrolling.

After that is the time for the major revelations in the Scarlet and Violet storyline.

Professor Sada and Professor Turo meet with a tragic fate, the defenses of the Paldea Giant Pit collapse, causing a large number of rampaging Paradox Pokemon to break through into the Paldea Region.

Naoki once tried to change the fate of the two professors.

If he fails, everything will continue along its destined path, and Arven will lose his parents...

And if he succeeds, what kind of situation would arise?

The future as it stands now is a bit unclear to Naoki.

All he can do is live his own life well and then wait patiently.

Speaking of Arven... Naoki suddenly realized he hadn’t seen Arven in a long time.

He specifically asked Raifort to use her teacher privileges to help find Arven.

Compared to when Naoki last saw him, Arven had grown up a lot and become more mature.

When Naoki saw him, Arven was sitting alone on a bench on the playground reading a book.

Mabosstiff quietly accompanied Arven by his side.

Seeing that scene, Raifort was a little surprised: ”Do you know that child?”

Naoki nodded, then walked over with Koraidon to greet Arven:

”It’s been a while, Arven!”

Upon hearing the voice, Arven looked up with a surprised expression, as if not expecting to see Naoki at the academy.

”M-Mr. Naoki?!”

Naoki nodded slightly: ”Yes, it’s me, you haven’t been a guest at the ranch for a while.”

Arven seemed somewhat flattered and then stammered out an explanation: ”I... since school started, I’ve had a lot to do, so... I haven’t had time to visit you, Mr. Naoki.”

Naoki immediately recognized this as an excuse.

But he didn’t expose him and instead smiled and said: ”Remember to come to the ranch for a few days once you’re free!”

Without his parents around and seldom experiencing the care of others, Arven felt moved when he heard this.

He opened his mouth, nodded, and said: ”Yeah, I’ll come over once I’m done with this course work.”

Naoki nodded with a smile: ”That’s more like it! Don’t be shy; after all, I watched you grow up!”

Naoki gestured a height with his hand: ”When I first met you, you were only this tall, and now, in the blink of an eye, you’ve grown so much!”

Arven felt like he was about to cry.

Naoki patted him on the shoulder: ”Alright, I won’t disturb your reading anymore; study well!”
