Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 242: Chapter 242: Killing Qin Xi

Qin Dahai shook his head bitterly. ”Ye Qingchen, ask for something else, and I will certainly agree to it!”

Ye Qingchen burst into laughter, completely ignoring him.

Hearing her father refuse again, Qin Xi fell into utter despair. Her whole being collapsed, and she slumped there like a pile of mud.

Ye Qingchen wanted Qin Xi to die in despair, which was why he tormented her like this.

He didn’t consider himself cruel or excessive. After all, Qin Dahai had kidnapped his father, forcing him to endure more than a decade of anguish without parents. His father had suffered immensely because of this, having been enslaved in the bitter cold of the mines for ten years. To this day, his fate—whether he was alive or dead—remained unknown.

Qin Xi, on the other hand, had sent assassins after him multiple times. If not for his rapid advancement in strength, he would have likely died at her hands by now.

Ye Qingchen was kind, but he was no saint. Compared to what Qin Dahai and Qin Xi had done, he felt that nothing he did could be considered excessive. In fact, he even thought he was still being too kind.

Seeing the devastated Qin Xi, Ye Qingchen drew his Qingfeng Sword and pointed it at her.

At that moment, all Qin Xi could do was cry. Facing the cold blade, she seemed completely unaware of her imminent death.

Ye Qingchen shook his head. He ceased his torment and thrust his sword toward her.

”No!” Qin Dahai screamed in anguish, but the Qingfeng Sword had already pierced through Qin Xi’s body. Until the moment she died, her eyes, fixed on her father, were filled with bitter resentment.

She was so disappointed in this father of hers.

”Brat, give me back my daughter’s life! I’ll kill you!”

Ye Qingchen had killed Qin Xi right in front of Qin Dahai, causing him to lose his last shred of sanity. Dragging his crippled right leg, he charged toward Ye Qingchen.

But missing a leg, Qin Dahai’s ferocious attacks seemed like slow motion in Ye Qingchen’s eyes. Even though each of Qin Dahai’s punches had the power to shatter mountains and rocks, Ye Qingchen could easily dodge them with his Mystifying Steps.

However, Qin Dahai was still a second-level Martial Spirit Realm expert. Even with one leg, Ye Qingchen couldn’t kill him quickly. After they exchanged more than twenty moves, Qin Dahai gradually regained some composure from his initial rage.

He realized that in his current state, he could not possibly hit Ye Qingchen, nor could he dodge his attacks. He was nothing more than a live target, forced to passively take every blow. Although Ye Qingchen couldn’t finish him off immediately, the longer the fight dragged on, the worse his leg injury would become. Sooner or later, he would die at Ye Qingchen’s hands. Escape was simply impossible in his current condition.

With this in mind, Qin Dahai took advantage of a gap in Ye Qingchen’s attacks to pull a Roaring Heaven Thunder from his robes.

Ye Qingchen noticed the action, but since Qin Dahai was a Martial Spirit Realm expert, preventing him from launching the Roaring Heaven Thunder would be anything but easy.

SWOOSH!

The Roaring Heaven Thunder soared into the sky, bursting high above into a brilliant shower of flames.

Qin Dahai had released the Roaring Heaven Thunder as a call for help. If he could just hold on a little longer, experts from the Rising Sun Pavilion would arrive to rescue him. Then, he would be safe. Thinking of this, Qin Dahai mustered two hundred percent of his strength to counter Ye Qingchen’s attacks.

Of course, Ye Qingchen understood the signal’s purpose. The Rising Sun Pavilion had many experts. Even though they were in the remote Qingyun Town, he couldn’t rule out another Martial Spirit Realm expert arriving. If that happened, not only would he be unable to kill Qin Dahai, but he himself might also be in danger.

Considering this, Ye Qingchen also went all out, determined to kill Qin Dahai before the experts from the Rising Sun Pavilion could arrive. Disregarding the energy drain, he unleashed the Earth Rank Martial Technique, Leaf Blade Storm, which swept toward Qin Dahai. At the same time, he shoved handfuls of Spirit Pills into his mouth.

Faced with an Earth Rank Martial Technique, Qin Dahai could have used his movement technique to avoid fatal blows if he were at his peak. But now, he had no choice but to endure it head-on. Moreover, Ye Qingchen’s onslaught was fierce. In the gaps between the Leaf Blade Storm, he would unleash Sword Dusting the Wind, catching Qin Dahai completely off guard.

Fresh wounds kept appearing on Qin Dahai’s body. His already weakened state from the severed leg was now even worse. As the battle raged on, he found himself increasingly powerless against Ye Qingchen’s attacks. He could only pray that an expert from the Rising Sun Pavilion would arrive soon.

Ye Qingchen wasn’t faring well either. Although the Spirit Pills helped him recover, he still felt waves of dizziness. The energy drain from using an Earth Rank Martial Technique was immense, and even he was finding it difficult to bear. Fortunately, Qin Dahai was now at the end of his rope. With just one more push, he could kill him.

BOOM!

In the end, Qin Dahai couldn’t withstand the unrelenting attacks and was blasted more than ten meters away, landing heavily on the ground.

His body screaming with fatigue, Ye Qingchen dragged his Qingfeng Sword as he walked toward Qin Dahai. As he walked, he muttered to himself. Father, today your son will finally kill your enemy! Wait for me! I will rescue you very soon.

But to Qin Dahai’s ears, these words sounded like a death sentence whispered by a demon from the underworld, come to reap his soul.

”Ye Qingchen, you can’t kill me!” Qin Dahai pleaded, deep in despair. ”Whatever you want, I can give it to you—Spirit Stones, Spiritual Artifacts, treasures! Just say the word, and I’ll agree to anything!”

When facing death, even a fierce figure like Qin Dahai had a breaking point.

Ye Qingchen only sneered, offering no response. He knew that when Qin Dahai had exploited his father, he had shown no mercy. When his father had no value left to squeeze, Qin Dahai was even going to sell him to the mines to work as a slave. Therefore, Ye Qingchen had no reason to forgive him, rendering Qin Dahai’s pleas futile.

”Die!”

When Ye Qingchen was two meters away, he mustered all his strength and unleashed Sword Dusting the Wind, sending a blade of Sword Qi slashing toward Qin Dahai.

At that moment, Qin Dahai was unable to move. Seeing the blade of Sword Qi streaking toward him, he could only close his eyes in despair.

BOOM!

An explosion ripped through the air, but the pain Qin Dahai anticipated never came.

That last strike should have been fatal... yet I’m not dead. Only then did Qin Dahai dare to open his eyes.

An elder in a green robe now stood before him, his face stern and emotionless. The elder was clearly disgusted by Qin Dahai’s earlier cowardice. His cold voice dripped with revulsion as he asked, ”Was it you who released the Roaring Heaven Thunder?”

Qin Dahai had thought he was dead for sure and never expected an expert from the Rising Sun Pavilion to arrive in time. Overjoyed, he shouted excitedly, ”It was me! It was me! I am Qin Dahai! I was the one who released the Roaring Heaven Thunder!”

The green-robed elder nodded, then turned his gaze to Ye Qingchen. ”Young man,” he said, ”you dare to kill someone from my Rising Sun Pavilion. You truly are a newborn calf that does not fear the tiger.”
