Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 234: Chapter 234: Kneel Down, Submit to This Old Man

Ye Qingchen naturally would not let the man who had been hunting him go so easily, and he gave chase relentlessly.

This made Elder Yang feel incredibly stifled. He was a Ninth Layer martial master, yet he now found himself being chased by a mere Fourth Layer martial master—a little whelp at that. Who would believe such a thing, even if word got out? Elder Yang sighed. This isn’t my fault. If anyone’s to blame, it’s Ye Qingchen for being such a freak. Who else in the world could leap across two entire ranks in strength in just a few days?

Already seriously injured, Elder Yang found his stamina completely drained after half a day of frantic escape. He had no choice but to swallow a Spirit Pill to stabilize his condition.

Qingyun Town was not far away. A thought suddenly struck Elder Yang as he remembered the information from Qin Xi. Ye Qingchen is from the Ye Family of Qingyun Town!

Elder Yang understood he was no longer a match for Ye Qingchen. If I want to survive, my only option is to exploit his weakness! With this in mind, Elder Yang changed direction and headed toward Qingyun Town.

The most powerful expert in the Ye Family was their so-called Supreme Elder, who had only just broken through to the Martial Master Realm. Moreover, the Family Head, Ye Changyun, was said to have only reached the Ninth Layer of the Martial Artist realm. To Elder Yang, a Ninth Layer martial master, such strength was as insignificant as an ant’s.

So Elder Yang raced all the way to the Ye Family’s front gate. Although the Ye Family now dominated Qingyun Town, they still conducted themselves with propriety. Seeing Elder Yang arrive, the disciples guarding the gate asked politely, ”Sir, what brings you to our Ye Family? We can announce your arrival.”

Elder Yang looked at the two Ye Family disciples before him—mere Martial Artists—and gave a cold smile. How could a family this weak have produced a monster like Ye Qingchen? ”Get Ye Changyun out here to see me!”

Elder Yang’s condescending tone made the two disciples frown, but they still replied politely, ”Our Family Head is out and has not yet returned. Perhaps you could come back another day?”

Elder Yang sneered, ”Putting on airs, is he? Since he won’t come out, I’ll go in and find him myself.” As he spoke, he started walking toward the Ye Family estate. The two disciples tried to stop him but were sent flying with a casual wave of his hand.

The commotion at the gate caused a stir within the Ye Family. Many of the family’s experts rushed out, glaring angrily at Elder Yang.

”A mere rabble!” Faced with the surrounding crowd, Elder Yang showed a hint of disdain. With a casual wave, he sent several Ye Family experts flying. However, though they were terrified, none of the remaining experts retreated.

”Who are you? Why do you trespass against the Ye Family!”

A thunderous roar rang out as the Supreme Elder appeared before everyone. Upon seeing him, the Ye Family experts felt a wave of relief wash over them. They greeted him respectfully, saying, ”Supreme Elder, this man is outrageously rude! He not only forced his way in but has also injured several of our people.”

The Supreme Elder ignored them, his gaze fixed solemnly on Elder Yang. Although Elder Yang hadn’t unleashed his full power, to the Supreme Elder, his aura as a martial master felt like a towering mountain. This is an absolute expert! The Supreme Elder knew he was no match for the man before him, but to protect the Ye Family, he still spoke up.

”Sir, our Ye Family has no quarrel with you. Why have you trespassed here today and injured our clansmen?”

Elder Yang burst into scornful laughter. ”An explanation? To a bunch of good-for-nothing gluttons like you? I can crush you whenever I please. Do I need to explain myself? So, you’re the Ye Family’s Supreme Elder? Good. Very good. You’re the one I was looking for!”

Elder Yang had learned from the intel that the Supreme Elder was highly respected in the Ye Family and had helped Ye Qingchen a great deal. If I capture him, Ye Qingchen will have to hold back for fear of harming his hostage, leaving him putty in my hands. With this in mind, Elder Yang didn’t hesitate. He struck like a thunderbolt, instantly appearing before the Supreme Elder. The Supreme Elder, a mere Martial Master Realm cultivator, had no time to resist before Elder Yang seized him.

Seeing their strongest expert, the Supreme Elder, subdued in a single move, the members of the Ye Family finally showed their terror. Elder Yang looked at the experts who were scared out of their wits and said disdainfully, ”A family like yours is only capable of throwing its weight around in a backwater place like this. In my eyes, you’re less than ants. If I wished, I could wipe you out with a flick of my wrist!”

”Stop!”

Just as Elder Yang was gloating, another furious shout echoed. He looked over and involuntarily took a step back. The newcomer was none other than Ye Qingchen, his face contorted with rage as he stared at Elder Yang.

Ye Qingchen had been tracking Elder Yang. As he neared Qingyun Town, a terrible premonition had seized him, so he had quickened his pace, arriving just in time to witness this scene.

”Ye Qingchen, stand right there! Don’t move, or this old man dies!” Elder Yang threatened, clutching the Supreme Elder’s neck.

Elder Yang knew he was no match for Ye Qingchen; using the Supreme Elder as a hostage was his only option. As he had hoped, Ye Qingchen halted. He knew that while he could defeat Elder Yang, the distance between them was too great. If I make the slightest move, he’ll have enough time to kill the Supreme Elder!

”Qingchen, don’t mind me! Kill this bastard—”

The Supreme Elder’s heart filled with sorrow. I never thought I’d become a burden to Ye Qingchen. He tried to shout, but before he could finish, Elder Yang tightened his grip. The Supreme Elder’s face turned beet-red, and the rest of his words were choked off.

Ye Qingchen sighed and said to Elder Yang, ”What do you want? Release the Supreme Elder now, and I will let you go.”

Elder Yang laughed loudly. ”So, Ye Qingchen, you can feel fear after all! Still, I find it strange. How could a trash family like the Ye Family produce a monster like you?”

On the surface, Ye Qingchen appeared calm as he watched Elder Yang, but his mind was racing, trying to come up with a strategy. He secretly began to channel the power of his Willow Wood Martial Soul, slowly spreading it in Elder Yang’s direction.

Seeing Ye Qingchen hesitate just as he had predicted, Elder Yang grew even more triumphant. ”You’re quite the sentimental one, aren’t you? But you injured me. Did you really think I’d let this old man go without you paying a price? You’re far too naive.”

What Ye Qingchen needed most right now was time to think. Since Elder Yang didn’t seem to be in a hurry, he was happy to stall. ”Then what is it you want?” he asked.

Elder Yang burst into laughter again. ”It’s simple. Kneel, kowtow to admit you were wrong, and sign a contract of submission to me!”

What’s the point in just killing him? Making a genius like this submit at my feet... now that would be the ultimate achievement!
