Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 241: Chapter 241: You are Ye Changqing’s son?

Ye Qingchen would never forget how Qin Dahai had colluded with Li Zhe that year, using the lives of both him and the entire Ye Family to threaten his father. That was what had compelled his father to hand over the hard-won Ironwood Soul Flower!

He had originally thought Li Zhe was the only one who had framed his father, completely unaware that Qin Dahai of the Rising Sun Pavilion was also pulling strings from behind the scenes! If his father had managed to return to the Ye Family back then, he wouldn’t have lost him and been subjected to such hardship, nor would he have been deceived by Li Zhe and his daughter, Li Susu, for a full decade!

Moreover, with the Ironwood Soul Flower, his Dual Pupil Martial Soul could have been activated much earlier, and he would certainly be stronger now!

And the man responsible for all of this was Qin Dahai, who now stood right before him.

At this thought, Ye Qingchen’s nails dug into his palms as he clenched his fists, drawing blood that trickled from between his fingers. A towering rage burned in his eyes!

Qin Dahai, too, was tense. He looked at his daughter Qin Xili’s tear-streaked face with the utmost heartache. But with his daughter’s life on the line, he dared not act rashly, even though he was stronger than Ye Qingchen.

After composing himself, Qin Dahai spoke. ”Ye Qingchen, whatever you want, I can give it to you! Just let my daughter go, and everything is negotiable. If you dare to hurt her again, I will make your entire Ye Family be buried with her!”

To think he still dares to threaten me at a time like this! Ye Qingchen sneered inwardly. ”Put away your useless threats,” he said coldly. ”I’m going to ask you a question, and you’d better answer honestly. Otherwise, I don’t mind chopping off one of Qin Xili’s arms to show you I mean business!”

Qin Dahai was shocked, not expecting Ye Qingchen to be so aggressive. But since he was in a weaker position, he had no choice but to yield.

Ye Qingchen continued, ”Qin Dahai, do you remember a man named Ye Changqing, who was abducted by you and Li Zhe, the Li Family Head, in the Qingyun Mountain Range ten years ago?”

Qin Dahai frowned, as if he couldn’t recall the event.

Ye Qingchen’s anger intensified. Clearly, Qin Dahai had committed so many evil deeds and harmed so many people that he couldn’t remember them all.

However, since this concerned his father’s whereabouts, Ye Qingchen suppressed his rage and pressed on. ”That year, you stole the Ironwood Soul Flower from him and sold him to a sect as a mine slave!”

Qin Dahai’s eyelid twitched as a memory surfaced. He looked at Ye Qingchen in surprise. ”You’re that Ye Changqing’s son?”

Ye Qingchen nodded, saying through clenched teeth, ”That’s right. Ye Changqing is my father!”

Qin Dahai frowned. I never expected this. Years after casually stealing an Ironwood Soul Flower and kidnapping a man, I’ve fallen into the hands of that man’s son. What goes around, truly comes around!

With clenched teeth, Ye Qingchen demanded, ”Qin Dahai, where did you sell my father, Ye Changqing?”

Sighing, Qin Dahai replied, ”The Heavenly Profound Sect was buying mine slaves all over the place back then. Seeing that Ye Changqing was of no use, I sold him to the Xuan Ore Cave of the Heavenly Profound Sect to work as a mine slave!”

Ye Qingchen’s heart skipped a beat, his brows furrowing. His father was serving as a mine slave in the Heavenly Profound Sect.

Knowing he was in the wrong, Qin Dahai withdrew fifty thousand low-grade Spirit Stones from his storage ring. ”Ye Qingchen, I didn’t know Ye Changqing was your father back then. To show my remorse, I’m willing to offer fifty thousand low-grade Spirit Stones as compensation. I will also negotiate with the Heavenly Profound Sect to redeem your father and reunite you both.”

On the surface, Qin Dahai spoke with deep emotion, appearing full of regret. In his heart, however, he was thinking viciously, Ye Qingchen, as soon as I save my daughter, I will exterminate your entire Ye Family. You dare to threaten me? You’re still too naive. You’re looking for your father? I’ll capture you too, sell you as a mine slave, and let you be tortured to death!

What Qin Dahai didn’t realize was that Ye Qingchen, wary of him, had kept his Dual Pupil Martial Soul activated the entire time, allowing him to hear every single word of Qin Dahai’s inner thoughts.

Ye Qingchen sneered coldly in his heart. You threatened my father back then, so now I’ll let you have a good taste of what it’s like to be threatened!

With this thought, Ye Qingchen spoke to Qin Dahai. ”I heard that you threatened my father in the past. Now, I’m going to give you a taste of your own medicine. If you want to save your daughter, first cripple one of your own legs!”

Qin Dahai was shocked, never expecting Ye Qingchen to be so ruthless. He immediately shook his head. ”Impossible! Absolutely impossible!”

Hearing her father’s refusal, Qin Xili looked at the sharp blade resting on her neck and burst into tears.

Qin Dahai’s resolve wavered, and the ache in his heart for his daughter intensified. He gritted his teeth and slammed a palm into his own right leg.

Using his Dual Pupil Martial Soul, Ye Qingchen could clearly see that the meridians in Qin Dahai’s right leg were completely severed and the bones were practically crushed to dust. The leg was utterly ruined.

Enduring the intense pain, Qin Dahai gasped for air and said to Ye Qingchen, ”Ye Qingchen, a man of his word stands tall. I’ve already crippled my own leg. Release Qin Xili!”

Ye Qingchen burst into laughter. ”Qin Dahai,” he said mockingly, ”which one of your ears heard me say I would release Qin Xili if you crippled your leg?”

Overcome with rage, Qin Dahai aggravated his injury and abruptly spat out a mouthful of fresh blood.

It was true. Ye Qingchen had only told him to cripple his own leg; he had never promised to release Qin Xili afterward.

Wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, his face now pale, Qin Dahai said, ”Ye Qingchen, don’t push your luck. Just tell me, what will it take for you to release my daughter?”

Ye Qingchen shook his head with a playful smile. ”You really are desperate to save your daughter, aren’t you? Alright then, I’ll give you a chance. Acknowledge me as your master right now, and I’ll let Qin Xili go.”

Qin Dahai’s eyes bulged with rage. He gritted his teeth. ”Impossible! I could never agree to that. Acknowledging you as my master is the same as putting my life in your hands! I would be completely at your mercy! Name another condition. I’ll agree to anything but that!”

Ye Qingchen was not disheartened by Qin Dahai’s refusal.

Self-preservation is the first law of nature. While Qin Dahai loved Qin Xili, he wasn’t prepared to trade his life for hers.

So Ye Qingchen did not press the issue. Instead, he looked at Qin Xili with a smile and said, ”Qin Xili, your dear father, whom you’ve been so anxiously waiting for, seems to have only come to put on a show! He doesn’t care about you at all; he only cares about his own life. How pitiful you are!”

Upon hearing Ye Qingchen’s words, Qin Xili cried even harder, hysterically shouting at her father, ”Father, please save me! Father! I’m still so young! I have my whole life ahead of me! I don’t want to die!”

Faced with Qin Xili’s desperate pleas, Qin Dahai’s heart filled with bitterness.

Although he wanted to save Qin Xili, acknowledging Ye Qingchen as his master was something he absolutely could not agree to.
