Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 236: Chapter 236: The Dawn of the Ye Family’s Rise

Even at the moment of his death, Elder Yang was in a state of shock. Victory had been within his grasp, so how could he now be facing a death that would wipe out his very existence?

Ever since I accepted the mission to assassinate Ye Qingchen, I have been nothing but cautious. I never made the mistake of underestimating him. So why has it come to this?

His final thought before dying was that Ye Qingchen was far more cunning than Ye Changqing had ever been.

When Ye Qingchen learned that Elder Yang had participated in the persecution of his father, he felt an urge to cut him into a thousand pieces. He had only held back out of concern for the Elder Supreme’s safety. Killing Elder Yang with a single palm strike was letting him off easy.

After Elder Yang died, the storage ring on his hand became ownerless. Ye Qingchen removed it and found some Spirit Pills, several Martial Techniques and Cultivation Techniques, and around twenty to thirty thousand Low-grade Spirit Stones inside.

As expected of a Ninth Layer Grand Martial Master. His personal fortune is greater than that of most small clans, Ye Qingchen mused to himself. He paid no further attention to Elder Yang’s corpse, instead walking over to the Elder Supreme to check on his injuries.

After taking the Spirit Pill from Ye Qingchen, the Elder Supreme’s condition had mostly stabilized. Still, Ye Qingchen was worried, so he took out a few more Spirit Pills and had the Elder consume them.

These were merely first and second-grade Spirit Pills that Ye Qingchen had refined casually, meaning little to him now.

However, the Ye Family disciples watched, their hearts pounding with envy. Such Spirit Pills are rare treasures in Qingyun Town, yet Ye Qingchen hands them out so casually, as if they’re nothing. How long has that kid been gone for him to think so little of second-grade Spirit Pills?

Just then, the Family Head, Ye Changyun, came rushing over. He had been out on business but had hurried back immediately after receiving an urgent message that the family was in crisis.

Upon entering and seeing Ye Qingchen tending to the Elder Supreme, Ye Changyun paused for a moment, then hurriedly asked, ”Qingchen, when did you get back? What happened?”

Ye Qingchen was focused on circulating his internal energy to help the Elder Supreme refine the medicine’s power, so he didn’t reply. Other Ye Family disciples quickly ran to Ye Changyun’s side and explained everything that had transpired.

When Ye Changyun heard that Elder Yang had subdued the Elder Supreme, a martial master, in a single move, he was horrified. But when he learned that this formidable Elder Yang had been killed so easily by Ye Qingchen, he was shocked into numbness.

By then, Ye Qingchen had finished helping the Elder Supreme refine the medicine. He instructed the Ye Family disciples to carry the Elder away to recuperate in peace.

Seeing that Ye Qingchen was finished, Ye Changyun walked over and asked curiously, ”Qingchen, what realm have you reached now?”

Ye Qingchen smiled. ”I was lucky enough to reach the Fourth Layer of the Grand Martial Master Realm a few days ago.”

”What? A Grand Martial Master!”

Ye Changyun was numb with shock once more. It had been many years since the Ye Family had produced such an expert. And Ye Qingchen had only been gone for a few months, yet his strength had advanced by leaps and bounds!

It seems there’s hope for the Ye Family to rise in the future!

Just as Ye Changyun was lost in a fantasy of the Ye Family’s future rise to power, Ye Qingchen spoke again. ”Family Head, my father isn’t dead!”

”What? My brother is still alive? That’s wonderful! Where is he now?” Ye Changyun exclaimed, overjoyed and desperate to know more.

Ye Qingchen then relayed the information he had extracted from Elder Yang.

Ye Changyun frowned. The matter actually involved the Qin Family. In his eyes, the Qin Family was a colossus that their small Ye Family stood no chance against. However, Ye Changyun had no intention of sitting idly by when it came to his elder brother. He asked Ye Qingchen about his next move.

Ye Qingchen shook his head, admitting he had no definite plan yet and could only take things one step at a time. He would first wait for Qin Xi to arrive, then try to find out his father’s whereabouts before deciding on the next step.

He then gave the Spirit Pills, Cultivation Techniques, and Martial Techniques he had taken from Elder Yang to Ye Changyun. These items were of no use to him, but they could help the Ye Family develop rapidly. As for the Low-grade Spirit Stones, Ye Qingchen kept them. His current strength was not enough to challenge the Qin Family, so when it came to cultivation resources, the more, the better.

When Ye Changyun took the items from Ye Qingchen and briefly inspected them, he froze on the spot. What Ye Qingchen had given him included not only fourth-grade Spirit Pills but also a full range of Mysterious Rank Martial Arts and Cultivation Techniques.

After a moment’s hesitation, Ye Changyun tried to hand the items back. ”These... Qingchen, these are far too precious. You should keep them. They’ll be of greater benefit to your own cultivation.”

Ye Qingchen smiled and refused. ”Family Head, you keep them. I have no use for them. Now is a great opportunity for the Ye Family to grow, and these resources will serve a much better purpose in your hands.”

Hearing this, Ye Changyun finally nodded and accepted them.

After a bit more idle chatter, Ye Qingchen returned to his old residence to begin his closed-door cultivation.

Watching Ye Qingchen’s retreating figure, Ye Changyun sighed, then muttered to himself with a sense of relief, ”Big brother, Qingchen has truly grown up. I believe that under his leadership, the Ye Family is destined to rise!”

He glanced at Elder Yang’s corpse on the ground and, following Ye Qingchen’s earlier instructions, gestured for the family disciples to have it removed.

Gazing at the familiar furnishings in his room, Ye Qingchen felt a wave of nostalgia. He had lived here for seventeen years, and returning now felt like a lifetime had passed. This time, however, he had returned alone. The little girl who had been his only family had gone to cultivate at the Nine Star Sect, Wuji Immortal Palace.

I wonder when I’ll be reunited with Xiao Xiao?

Ye Qingchen shook his head, pushing the thought aside. He took out the Spirit Stones and began to cultivate. Having personally defeated a Ninth Layer Grand Martial Master in his battle with Elder Yang, his comprehension of the martial path had once again deepened. Now, with so many Low-grade Spirit Stones to aid him, he decided to attempt a breakthrough to the Fifth Layer of the Grand Martial Master Realm.

Activating the Divine Wood Formula, Ye Qingchen quickly entered a state of cultivation.

Days passed. During this time, Ye Changyun came by several times. However, sensing the powerful Spiritual Energy fluctuations from within the room, he knew Ye Qingchen was cultivating and left without disturbing him.

Ten days later, Ye Qingchen finally stepped out of his room. He squinted at the piercing sunlight and stretched lazily.

His aura was now clearly more than twice as powerful as it had been before.
