Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Do unto Others as They Did to You

Zhang Nu was Qin Dahai’s most capable general and his strategist.

Ye Qingchen frowned as he looked at Zhang Nu. Although I anticipated the appearance of a Martial Spirit Realm expert, I hadn’t expected that not only was Qin Dahai in the Martial Spirit Realm, but even his subordinate was as well. If both of them attacked me simultaneously, my chances of survival would be slim.

What Ye Qingchen found peculiar, however, was that although Zhang Nu exuded the aura of the Martial Spirit Realm, something seemed off. He activated his Dual Pupil Martial Soul to scrutinize Zhang Nu and instantly discovered the problem.

It turns out that Zhang Nu’s Martial Spirit Realm cultivation was artificially elevated by Qin Dahai using a variety of Spirit Pills. This resulted in an unstable foundation, and his Spiritual Energy is in turmoil. But this also shows how much Qin Dahai values this man, to be willing to spend such a fortune on him! Someone elevated to the Martial Spirit Realm through Spirit Pills is considerably weaker than a true practitioner, and their future cultivation will be permanently stunted. Normally, no one would resort to this method unless absolutely necessary. However, the Martial Spirit Realm is still the Martial Spirit Realm, and I dare not underestimate him.

In reality, Zhang Nu was not adept at combat. His only purpose in intervening was to stall Ye Qingchen, giving his master the opportunity to storm the Ye Family estate and rescue the young lady with the speed of a sudden thunderclap. Therefore, Zhang Nu was in no rush to attack, merely blocking Ye Qingchen’s path.

With his hands clasped behind his back, Zhang Nu looked at Ye Qingchen and spoke lightly, ”Brat, you’re merely at the Great Martial Master Realm. Facing a Martial Spirit Realm expert is like an ant trying to shake a tree. You’d better surrender now!”

As he spoke, Zhang Nu subtly gestured to Qin Dahai behind his back, and Qin Dahai immediately understood the signal. But how could such a subtle movement escape the notice of Ye Qingchen’s Dual Pupil Martial Soul? I instantly understand their plan. They simply want to bypass me and rush into the Ye Family estate.

However, having been lying in wait for so long, Ye Qingchen was naturally prepared for any contingency. Seeing Zhang Nu standing there, riddled with openings, Ye Qingchen sneered inwardly. A true battle is a fight to the death. Even a lion uses its full strength to hunt a rabbit. Besides, it’s not yet clear which of us is the lion and which is the rabbit, yet you dare to stand before me without even a defensive stance?

Ye Qingchen certainly wouldn’t let this chance slip by. He attacked immediately, unleashing the Earth Rank Martial Technique, Leaf Blade Storm!

With Ye Qingchen’s current power, the Leaf Blade Storm he conjured was far more formidable than before. Countless leaf blades instantly enveloped Zhang Nu. Showing no mercy, Ye Qingchen followed up with another technique—the superior-grade Xuan Rank Martial Technique, Sword Dusting the Wind—slashing toward the trapped man! With the enhancement from the Qingfeng Sword, the power erupting from Sword Dusting the Wind was almost comparable to an Earth Rank Martial Technique!

Zhang Nu had assumed Ye Qingchen would be too frightened to act upon hearing he faced a Martial Spirit Realm expert, but he never expected him to be so decisive. Consequently, he was completely unprepared for the Leaf Blade Storm.

Still, Zhang Nu was a Martial Spirit Realm expert. Though caught off guard, he hastily managed to defend against the Leaf Blade Storm, avoiding serious injury. However, he had no real combat experience. After blocking the first attack, he never anticipated that Ye Qingchen would strike again in succession! Thus, as the Sword Qi raced toward him, he had no time to defend himself. He could only watch helplessly as it slashed through his body!

SQUELCH!

With a single strike of the sword, Zhang Nu’s body was sliced in two. Blood spattered everywhere, dyeing the ground red!

After receiving Zhang Nu’s signal, Qin Dahai had started rushing toward the Ye Family estate. But in that split second, he never imagined that Ye Qingchen would cleave Zhang Nu in two with a single blow. That was a Martial Spirit Realm expert! Although I knew his foundation was weak, a Martial Spirit Realm expert should never lose to a Great Martial Master. To be instantly killed with a single sword strike by one... it’s just unbelievable!

But the facts were laid bare before him. Having used an Earth Rank Martial Technique and Sword Dusting the Wind in quick succession, Ye Qingchen had already consumed a fifth of his Spiritual Energy. He quickly pulled out a Spirit Pill and swallowed it to replenish his reserves. After all, his next opponent was Qin Dahai, a genuine Martial Spirit Realm powerhouse. Furthermore, judging by Qin Dahai’s aura, he has likely surpassed the first layer and reached the second layer of the Martial Spirit Realm!

”You brat, you deserve to die!”

Driven to hysterics by the death of all his men, Qin Dahai roared and lunged at Ye Qingchen. A torrent of palm strikes, like an overwhelming tide, instantly enveloped him.

Ye Qingchen’s guess was correct; Qin Dahai had indeed broken through to the second layer of the Martial Spirit Realm. Relying on his Dual Pupil Martial Soul, Ye Qingchen could perceive Qin Dahai’s attacks in slow motion, but the overwhelming power of the palm strikes still forced him back again and again.

The second layer of the Martial Spirit Realm... to think it’s this strong! Ye Qingchen lamented inwardly. With my current strength, I’m definitely no match for Qin Dahai.

However, Ye Qingchen had already anticipated this. Fighting while retreating, he seized a gap in Qin Dahai’s assault and let out a long, piercing whistle—a signal to the Supreme Elder hidden within the Ye Family estate.

”Brat, I’ll kill you!” Qin Dahai’s attacks grew fiercer. Seeing that Ye Qingchen was completely suppressed, a cruel smile spread across his face. This Ye Qingchen is astonishingly talented, able to kill a Martial Spirit Realm expert like Zhang Nu while only being a Great Martial Master. But in the end, he’ll still die by my hand! Personally slaying a prodigy like this will be one of the great pleasures of my life.

”Qin Dahai, stop!”

Just as Qin Dahai gathered his strength to kill Ye Qingchen in one final push, a thunderous rebuke made him pause for an instant. Ye Qingchen seized the opportunity to leap to safety.

The newcomer was the Supreme Elder, who was now holding a blade to Qin Xi’s neck and glaring furiously at Qin Dahai.

Seeing his precious daughter held at knifepoint, Qin Dahai’s rage intensified. He was about to lunge forward and kill the Supreme Elder on the spot. However, when he saw the blade press deeper, drawing a line of blood on Qin Xi’s neck, he could only grit his teeth and halt his attack.

By this time, Ye Qingchen had moved to the Supreme Elder’s side. He looked at Qin Dahai, who was held in check by the hostage, and said with a cold smile, ”Qin Dahai, if you don’t want your daughter to die, you’ll stay your hand!”

I don’t consider using Qin Xi as a hostage to be a despicable act. I’ll never forget that this is exactly how they threatened my father all those years ago. All I’m doing now is giving them a taste of their own medicine!
